Chapter 13: Part 2 of Chapter 12.
Aaron's POV
"Why do I have to do it today? Can't I do this tomorrow?" I whined.
"Because everyone else except you 3 scary cats has already done it and we need time to plan details of phase 2," Percy said.
"It's ok man, we all have to do it today," Castor said, trying not to look completely nervous.
"Just do it like after class or something," Malcolm said. I could only nod, how was I supposed to ask Lauren to go with me. She'll probably that I'm an idiot and-
"Dude, she won't think that," Castor said.
"How do you know what I'm thinking?!" I exclaimed. Just as he was about to explain, the bell rang, signalling the last five minutes.
"You can ask her at lunch, which is next. You stand next to her." Jason said with everyone agreeing.
We got there just in time for Apollo's archery class. That's when I saw Lauren. I swear she looked more stunning today, her hair was in a neat ponytail that shined in the sunlight and- "Stop staring dude, you're gonna miss class." Mark teased.
"Says the guy who's stuck in the same situation as me." I pointed out and he paled. "Kidding man, just kidding, but you know it's true."
"Finally, my favourite people. Ok everyone, pick up a bow and quiver and start shooting. Today it'll be moving targets." Apollo said with glee. We groaned, moving targets weren't really the easiest thing in the world but somehow his kids and some of the others could do just fine.
Adriana, eager to get started on one of her best sports, picked one set up and started shooting. She hit three targets with bull-eyes. "Great job, Adri. I've seen you put in the extra effort!" he exclaimed. She did a mocked bow and we laughed. Soon, we were all shooting the moving targets, some of us getting bull-eyes and some of us completely missing.
"Woah!" I shouted as I dodged another arrow.
"Sorry, archery really isn't my thing. "Percy said. I heard Adriana mutter something about it being true. We practised a bit more before Apollo called for a break.
"We'll practice shooting each other later," he said.
"Solo or groups?" Castor asked.
"Well, groups first I think. I'll go onto solo another time," he said, looking in Percy direction causing Percy to look away.
"Dude now's your chance," Frank said, pushing me in Lauren's direction.
"I don't know if I can do this guys. What if she doesn't me the way I do?" I said, trying not to run.
"Dude, she talks about you all the time. Just do it before you chicken out." Castor said. I was going to protest but they shoved me towards her.
"Oh, hey there Aaron. Can I help you?" She said, blushing a bit.
"Uh..." I looked at the others, they were shaking their heads. Castor was just banging his head against the wall.
"Yeah, I wanted to ask you something," I said, the others looking up and urging me mentally to just ask her already.
"What is it? Is something up?" she asked, worried. "
Well, Whatcha waiting for?! An invitation?! Ask her already! they shouted mentally.
I took a deep breath and said "You wanna come to the ball with me?" She stared at me like everything just dawned on her.
"I'll love too. I have to tell the others! See ya later, ok?" she asked. I nodded heading back to the guys.
"So?" They asked.
"She said yes." They cheered the same time the girls squealed. "That's me. Now which one of you wanna go first." I said, pointing at Castor and Mark.
"Together?" They asked.
"Fine by us." We said. Everything was going according to plan.
Castor"s POV
"You guys wanna go on Lunch or sword practice?" Chris asked.
"I don't know, what do you recommend?" I asked. I wanted this to go smoothly and try not to mess up at it and to be honest, I was so nervous, I was lucky that I wasn't in my room, having them pull me out.
"Lunch. Which is going to happen in five...four...three...two...one!" he said, the bell ringing at that moment. He patted me on my back.
Mark was already waiting for me at the table so we could do it together. "So? Any ideas?" He asked.
"Chris says we can do it now. Besides, we might as well get it done with. No use stalling, they already look like they wanna kill us." I said, looking at them. They were looking at us with urgency, which probably meant that we should do it. "Ready?" I asked him.
"Yep." He replied and we walked towards the girls.
Soon, we were walking in the gardens together and sat down at the nearest bench. "So, you guys asked us out here for a reason, right?" Julia asked.
C'mon guys, just repeat after us. Would you come to the ceremony with us? Say it! the other transmitted eagerly.
"Um well....."Mark began. I could definitely imagine them banging their heads on the wall right now.
"Would you to the ceremony with us?" We said in unison. They looked at us as we sat there in anticipation.
"Of course we would!" they exclaimed. We walked to our next class together, with the guys cheering our little victory. And I think I speak for both of us when I say it was the best day of our lives.
