Mercy was speechless. Never in her life she saw a child, a 4 year old no less, have their face be a void of any emotion.

"Trauma I supposed"  she thought. It was common to be emotionless when experiencing trauma, she just hope it will be gone soon.

"Hello I'm Mercy, but you can Angela if you want" no response. She sighed.

"Sweetie let's get you out of here" the girl didn't respond or protested as Mercy gently picked her up, but the girl stopped when she was about to fly away. She looked at her.

"What is it?" she asked. The girl pointed at the journal and backpack and realized what was she saying.

"Those are you'res?" the girl nodded and Mercy went back to claim her things and fly out.

Talon had already retreated, thankfully with nothing to bring. They still didn't know what they wanted but investigation will be initiated.  She spotted Soldier 76 a mile away and raced towards him.

"Jack!" hearing his name called he turned to the source. "Angela what's-" he stopped when he saw a small child in her arms, about 4 maybe. 

"Why do you have a child in you're arms" his voice was serious.

"Her sister was crushed by the ceiling and died. I don't know where her pa-" 

"We'll find them, and if that doesn't work we'll find her relatives or put her in an orphanage" he finished and began to walk away. Mercy glared and harshly grabbed his arm. Even from behind his mask she knew he was surprised by her behavior.

"Jack" she started. "This child just experienced trauma and you happened to be so indifferent about it? We help others, it's what we do."

The former Strike Commander looked between her and the girl in her arms. After a lot of contemplating, he sighed.

"Fine. But if we find her parents, we'll bring her to them straight away" Mercy smiled and nodded. 

They both took her to the ship and Mercy gently sat her down. Soldier finally took a notice on this girl, she was cute, he's got to admit, but her face was a different story. Safe to say it was.. unnerving to him, there was not a single splash of emotion in her face. When she caught him staring, she stared right back, before switching her attention to something else. 

"Don't worry. We'll find you're parents soon, but as of now we'll take you back to base" Mercy reassured her, hoping to get word from the girl. Unfortunately the girl gave a nod. Angela sighed and sat next to her. 

This was gonna be a long flight.

~Time Skip~

They finally arrived at Watchpoint: Gibraltar. Soldier carefully docked the ship before opening the the doors. Mercy picked the little girl up and proceeded to walk out with Soldier 76 fallowing behind.

"I'll be going see you later" with that he walked away.  Mercy sighed and went to her room. Since she saw no one in the halls, she assumed they're all in the living room or something. Once she was in her room, she gently brushed the child's hair since it was very messy when she met her. She accidentally delivered a harsh tug, just as she was going to  apologize, she saw that there was no reaction from her, not one bit. It made her worry since maybe her trauma was worse that she thought.

 After she was done, she let young girl face her. As much as she wanted to find her parents, she can't let her go just yet, they need to get through her first. Hopefully seeing them will make her happy again.

"Athena" Mercy said.

"Yew Dr. Ziegler" Mia was mildly surprised. She looked around her surroundings, but found none.

"I want everyone in the living room in 10 minutes please" she requested.

"Right away Dr. Ziegler" 

"Also I want you to find this little girl's parents as well please."

"Understood. I shall begin my search now" Mercy smiled in relief and picked her up again and went outside.

Everyone was inside the living room were waiting patiently or impatiently for Junkrat's case as he was tapping his good leg repeatedly and D.va popping her gum loudly with a bored look on her face.

"Oi! Where's that bloody doctor we've been forever!" cried Junkrat as he threw is arms in exaggeration. Symmetra rolled her eyes.

"Have patience Jamie" coax Mei. Junkrat could only grin.

"Whatever you say Snowflake" he said with a wink.

The door of the conference room everyone turned and saw surprised them. Mercy was was carrying a little girl. Mercy smiled at everyone's baffled looks and made her way to the middle of the room, just when she reached there, they all started to bombard with questions.

"Who is that? "

"Where did you find her?"

"I love her hair, did she dyed it?"

"Where are her parents?"

"Everyone stop! you are all crowding her" Mercy was swatting everyone with her hand, they were suffocating her. Once everyone was calmed down Mercy began. She explained to everyone where she found her, how she was there when her sister died, and why she was here. When she finished her explanation, they had sorrowful looks on their faces. Just she was going to say something, Athena's voice rang out.

"Dr. Ziegler."

"Yes Athena."

"I managed to identify the young girl and her parents" Mercy smiled at that.

"The young lady you have is Mia Esmeralda De Nikos, the daughter of Christopher and Morrigan De Nikos and younger sister of Maya De Nikos" Winston and Mei let out a gasp on hearing the names of the girl's family.

"You two know them?" Jesse inquired as everyone looked ad their shocked faces.

"You could say that" Winston started. "We just heard them that's all" Mei said.

"So where are her parents?" Mercy asked.

"That's what I was afraid of. The two people you found that Talon shot? they were her parents."

They were all silent at that. Her parents were dead? Mercy found Soldier 76 looking at her, even with that mask on she knew his thoughts.

"Does she have any relatives?"

"I'm afraid not. Both of her parent's are onlys." Now this was a troublesome situation for them, the girl had no other contacts, and deep within Mercy's heart, she wanted to know more about this girl. Something told her to do it.

"Then we'll adopt her" everyone looked at her in surprise, even Mia was wide eyed, but only briefly.

Soldier, being silent the whole time, started "Mercy remember what we-" "I don't care!"

Everyone froze on her outburst. This was new. The woman took a deep breathe before continuing.

"Just hear me out. I don't want to leave her with her parents colleagues, much less an orphanage, I don't trust them, especially with her condition right now" she paused before continuing. "We could raise and train her, to be a great soldier (Or medic). After all the world could always use more heroes."

"Hey that's my line!" Tracer said with fake anger, but chuckled. They all knew she was right. Talon's forces had become stronger now with Doomfist and they needed recruits. She looked at the former Strike Commander for consent, Jack sighed but nodded. 

Mercy beamed at that and looked at Mia, still emotionless as ever, she sighed and let face everyone. Just as she thought, everyone was surprise on the emotionless little girl.

"Umm.. Hi there love my name is Tracer or Lena" she waved to the girl but she only nodded.

"Hello young one my name is Genji and this is my brother Hanzo" a cyborg greeted and pointed to  man next to him that a had dragon tattoo on his left arm.

"Greetings child I am Symmetra" she gave her the girl a curious look.

"Hello there my name is Winston" a gorilla with glasses spoke up, giving the the girl a soft smile.

"Howdy there darlin, the name's Jesse McCree" a cowboy spoke up tipping his hat to her.

"Hi there my name is Mei" a girl that wore a blue coat waved.

"Hey little sheila m'name's Junkrat and this is my pal Roadhog" the former criminal waved enthusiastically at her, next to him a large man with pig tattoo nodded to Mia's direction.

"Greetings! I am Reinhardt" a loud voiced boomed. Mia turned her head to see a large muscular man with white hair in a suit of armor. He's left eye was white.

"I'm Torbjorn " a dwarf man in a metal arm said.

"Hello my name is Zennyata" Mia saw a floating omnic with orbs around. It reminded her of those monks in Tibet

"Привет, ребенок I am Zarya and I hope you can be as strong as me" a pink haired and muscular woman said flexing her arms.

"Hey there I'm Lucio" a man in roller blades said, giving her a cheerful smile.

"And I'm Hana or you might know me as D.va" girl with pink lines on cheeks bounced to her giving her a charming smile.

"Jack" Mercy called out. Mia turned to the man she met before, he sighed before answering. "Soldier 76."

Everyone faltered a bit once they saw no reaction towards her.  As if she didn't care. Noticing this, Mia gave a nod and a wave of acknowledgement, saying she understood. But it only help them a bit. Angela sighed speaking up.

"And you know everyone's name" the medic looked at her "Mia."

"Welcome to OverWatch!" exclaimed everyone.
