Chapter 1: Prologue
It was January 24, midnight in Dublin, Ireland. Usually most people would be asleep. But there a few exceptions, like night guards and hospitals for example. Beamunt Hospital is no exception. Within the compound you can hear the wails of a Banshee, but this was no Banshee, it was a woman in labor.
Inside in one of the rooms was a golden blonde haired woman with emerald eyes and snow white skin. She arched her back as another ripple of pain surged within her.
Being a woman sucks sometimes.
"I can see the head!" cried the doctor. The nurses were doing they're best to pinned the woman, who was bucking wildly in the bed.
Morrigan De Nikos was in labor for two hours and her baby had not come out yet, whatever was going on with her baby she hoped they'll be alright. Then she gave another push.
"Your doing great keep going it's almost there!" she then gave one push using whatever strength she had left before going unconscious.

Morrigan lazily blinked her eyes. All around her was a blur. All voices were muffled but one stood out the most. A cry. Her baby's cry.
She struggled to sit up right but managed. One of the nurses finished cleaning the little bundle and handing it to her with a bright smile.
"Congratulations" she said "It's a girl."
Morrigan cried softly as she looked down at her baby. She was so beautiful. She had snow white skin like herself and when the little thing opened her eyes they were like her also. She gently stroked her cheek and her baby cooed.
"Ma'am" the woman snapped her head up to she the nurse in front of her. "Your husband what's to come in" Morrigan smiled.
"Please send him here" the nurse nodded and went out. For a few minutes her husband came in. He had red orangish hair like fire, sapphire eyes and fair skin. He wore dark blue button shirt, black pants and dress shoes. He smiled at his wife and smiled wider at the little bundle at her arms. He quickly walked over and grabbed a chair and sat down.
"Oh Christopher look t her, isn't she wonderful" the man smiled at his wife and kissed her cheek.
"Yes she is and she looks just like you" the woman chuckled a bit which earned a confused look from her husband.
"What?" he questioned.
"Not entirely dear" she said. To prove her point she moved the blanket out of her head and revealed small tufts of red orangish hair. Christopher smiled and kissed her forehead.
"Hi there I'm your daddy" the baby gave him a gummy smile which he returned. Suddenly there was a soft knocked at the door.
"Come in" Morrigan called.
The door slowly opened and revealed a young woman with back length wavy golden hair, sapphire eyes and fair skin. She wore a white shirt under a blue long sleeve cardigan, khaki skirt and dark blue pumps.
"Maya your here" the older woman said sifting in her bed. Maya smiled sheepishly.
"Yeah sorry I'm late mom" she apologized slowly closing the door and slowly walked to her side. Maya smiled gently at the baby in her mother's arms.
"It's okay. Would you like to hold your new sister Maya?" the said woman nodded eagerly and gingerly held on her new sister. Maya smiled down at her. Her little sister. She was going love and protect her and make sure she has an amazing life ahead of her.
"Hi there I'm Maya, your older sister" the baby shifted but remained calm. She then gave the baby back to her mother.
"So mom what's her name?" her parents looked at each other then at her they both had small smiles in there faces.
"Actually kóri we were hoping you would name her" Maya looked at parents in surprised. She was going to say something when her father cut her off.
"We know you always wanted a younger sister. So we thought it was best you could name her" Maya beamed at her parents before thinking what kinds of names for her little sister. Before long she came to a conclusion.
"Mia" she said "Let's name her Mia."
Suddenly she heard her father groaned then chuckled. Maya looked at her father weirdly.
"Dad what is it?" she asked.
"Nothing it's just your mother's family curse is acting up again" he answered still chuckling. Maya remembered. In her mother's side of the family having girls is common occurrence while giving birth to boys were rare, not to mention having all of their first names start with M. Maya and her mother chuckled as well.
There was a knock at the door and one of the nurses came in.
"I'm sorry ma'am but your family must go now you need rest" Morrigan sighed but nodded. She gently gave Mia to the nurse as her husband and daughter walked out. She closed her eyes drifted to sleep.

It's been 2 months since that faithful day, and they've been happier. Sure it's been stressful but that managed. Maya was with babysitting Mia since her parents were out on their job. They both are biologists and are right now working on a new project that involved about a new habitat for a recently discovered species.
Maya was in her study in the house. The rows of bookshelves and bookcases mostly dominated the room. The wall her desk was pushed up against a pale blue wallpaper, her desk was a large dark redwood desk on it was laptop with various papers with a computerized SMART board on the far side of her desk. The books involving alchemy filled the shelves along with other science books with a few light reading as well.
Maya was an alchemist. Unlike most ones, she studied about turning into mutants. Her recent creation is the Modena Butterfly, This causes her to change as a whole, with differently colored skin, six arms, heightened senses, and large wings capable of flight, but she still needed more research. She experimented on herself and it only lasted for 25 seconds and her whole body hurt. Not to mention people will be furious and call her a monster.
She sat on her swivel chair typing in her recent discovery. A rejuvenating fountain. They said since ancient times people of old would come to regain back their youth, but they abused it's power until not a single drop of water was left. Rumors say it's reawakened and she wants to take a look for herself.
Suddenly a Mia's loud cry interrupted her in mid type. She stopped and stood, she quickly went to to Mia to see what's wrong. Maya finally reached her bedroom and slowly opened the door.
(Mia's room)
Maya made her way to her little sister. Mia's face was red and tear-stained and still wailing and flailing her arms.
"Aww. What's wrong Mimi?" the older girl cooed. The baby stopped crying and looked up to her sister. She smiled and stretched her little arms to her. Maya carefully picked her up.
"You just wanted to see you're bug sister huh?" Maya said tickling her stomach which made Mia giggled. Maya stopped and took her to her study. Once Maya sat back down, Mia stared at her laptop curiously before trying to reach it.
"No Mimi" Maya gently scolded. Maya readjusted her sitting before went back to typing. But it proved to be hard, with typing in one hand while the other held a baby. So she gently sat Mia next to her.
"Stay here" she instructed. Maya quickly went back to Mia's room and grabbed a blanket and a few toys, when she came back Mia was still in the same place she left her (which she silently thanked) and carefully spread the blanket and dropped her toys. Mia cheered in delight and crawled towards them. The older sibling smiled and went back to work.
The rest of the day was pretty peaceful, Mia was actually easy to take care of, besides a few feeding and diaper changing, Mia wasn't a fussy baby. Maya yawned as she almost finished with her document, she checked her phone and it was late and she had a new message from her parents, she opened her phone and read the text. It said her parents were coming home tomorrow due to a slight accident with their co-workers and told her to make Mia was in bed in time.
She chuckled and texted them okay and hope they're safe. She tucked her phone away and checked on Mia. Seeing that's she's already tired, Maya gently lifted her and headed to her room. Once she was there she sang the lullaby her grandmother sang to their mother.
Hush now my Storeen Close your eyes and sleep
Waltzing the waves
Diving the deep
Stars are shining bright
The wind is on the rise
Whispering words of long lost lullabies
Oh won't you come with me
Where the moon is made of gold
And in the morning sun
We'll be sailing
Oh won't you come with me
Where the ocean meets the sky
And as the clouds roll by
We'll sing the song of the sea
I had a dream last night
And heard the sweetest sound
I saw a great white light and dancers in the round
Castles in the sand
Cradles in the trees
Don't cry, I'll see you by and by
Oh won't you come with me
Where the moon is made of gold
And in the morning sun
We'll be sailing
Oh won't you come with me
Where the ocean meets the sky
And as the clouds roll by
We'll sing the song of the sea
Rolling
Rolling
Rolling
Rolling
Oh won't you come with me
Where the moon is made of gold
And in the morning sun
We'll be sailing free
Oh won't you come with me
Where the ocean meets the sky
And as the clouds roll by
We'll sing the song of the sea
Maya checked if she was asleep, once she was she carefully placed her back into her crib and kissed her forehead.
"Goodnight Mia."
