( SUMMARY )

( ODESSA ) was born ordinary. She didn't seem to develop her powers until she was around nine years old and then her powers seemed to hit her in full force. She is ecstatic as she finally feels like she is special, though, her powers soon alienate her from her surroundings, friends, and even her family. Her parents, are horrified by her newfound powers, however they decide not to do anything about them as Odessa, has sworn only to use them to help others, and not herself. 

( BUT ) when Odessa is seventeen years old, she accidentally performs the wrong spell to heal a sick boy who was part of a high class noble family. The boy dies almost immediately, however, the boy's parents don't blame her for the death of their son. But, her parents do. 

( DEEMING ) their daughter a monster, they discreetly hire an assassin to kill her. The assassin carries out his job and everyone just assumes that she committed suicide. Her parents are pleased and pay the assassin handsomely for his work, thinking they finally have rid the world of their 'monster' of a daughter.

( HOWEVER ) Odessa isn't dead for long. She unknowingly raises herself from the dead and with her new power, she takes revenge on her parents and the assassin, before meeting Geralt of Rivia and Yennefer of Vengerberg who see as something other than the monster she has finally become.
