Natasha: First rule of going on the run is, don't run, walk.

Anne: If I run in these shoes. They're gonna fall off.

The team were at the mall as they were disguised as civilians and began making their way towards the mac store to decrypt the data from the flash drive.

They made it to the mac store as they were looking at the computers until Jack said something to the team.

Jack: The drive has a Level Six homing program, so as soon as we boot up SHIELD will know exactly where we are.

Alex: How much time do we have?

Natasha: About nine minutes from. . . . now.

Multiple SHIELD cars were driving through the highway as they began driving towards the mall.

Meanwhile back at the mac store, the team were looking through the files as Natasha said something to them.

Natasha: Fury was right about that ship, somebody's trying to hide something. This drive is protected by some sort of AI. It keeps rewriting itself to counter my commands.

Anne: Can you override it?

Natasha: The person who developed this is slightly smarter than me. Slightly.

Jack: I'm gonna try running a tracer. This is a program that SHIELD developed to track hostile malware. So if we can't read the file, maybe we can find out where it came from.

Anne: Let's be quick, we're running out of time.

The team saw an apple employee walking towards them as he spoke to them.

Apple Employee: Can I help you guys with anything?

Natasha: [Holds Alex's arm] Oh, no. My fiancé was just helping me with some honeymoon destinations.

Alex was staring at Natasha as she was smiling at him until he said something to the employee.

Alex:. . . . . . . Right. We're getting married.

Apple Employee: Congratulations! Where do you guys thinking about going?

Alex: New Jersey.

Anne: That's a great idea. I have another suggestion. Toronto would be a great honeymoon destinations.

Jack: That's a great suggestion.

Apple Employee: Cool! If you guys need anything. Let me know and I'll be here in a flash.

Runlow and the agents were walking around the mall as they continued looking around while telling the others to split up and find the team.

Meanwhile back at the mac store, the team were looking at the computer as they were speaking to each other.

Anne: You said nine minutes, come on.

Natasha: [Smiles] Shh, relax. Got it.

Natasha: There. [Shows Wheaton, NJ] You know it?

Anne: I used to. Let's go.

They grabbed the flash drive and left the mac store until they saw Rumlow along with multiple agents surveying the mall.

Jack: Standard tac-team.

Anne: Two behind, two across, two coming straight at us.

Alex: Split up. Blend into the crowds and make our way towards the exit.

Natasha: [Smiles] Great idea, Bats.

The team split up as they were walking through the crowds while avoiding detection from SHIELD. Anne and Jack saw two SHIELD agents walking towards them until Anne said something to Jack.

Anne: Laugh when I say something.

Jack: Got it.

Both of them began laughing as they managed to walk past the shield agents without raising any suspicion as they continued walking through the mall.

Brock: Give me a floor rundown.

SHIELD Agent #2: [On Radio] Negative on three.

SHIELD Agent #3: [On Radio] Negative on two

Brock: Snake the upper levels, work down to me.

Natasha and Alex were at the escalator as Romanoff noticed Rumlow and two agents at the escalator until she said something to Alex and he responded to her.

Natasha: Public displays of affection make people very uncomfortable.

Alex was staring at her until Natasha kissed him as Rumlow and the agents looked at them and immediately looked away as the hostiles made it to the upper levels and continued looking around.

Natasha and Alex left the escalator as Romanoff had a smile on her face and said something to him.

Natasha: [Smiles] So how was it?

Alex: Let's just get out of here.

Romanoff was smiling at him as they reunited with Jack and Anne. They left the mall and got inside the car as they began driving away.

Few hours later

The team made it to New Jersey as it was night-time. They were at a abandoned military base as they were talking to each other.

Anne: This is it.

Jack: The file came from these coordinates.

Anne: So did I. This camp is where I was trained.

Alex: Changed much?

Anne: A little.

She began remembering her training in this camp as she remembered her sergeant's words. Anne saw a vision of her younger self running through the camp as she was staring at it until Natasha said something to the team.

Natasha: This is a dead end. Zero heat signature, zero waves, not even radio.

Jack: Whoever wrote the file must have used a router to throw people off.

Alex noticed Anne was looking at the building as he said something to her.

Alex: What's the matter?

Anne: Army regulations forbid storing ammunition within five hundred yards of the barracks. This building is in the wrong place.

The team broke the lock on the door and entered the building as they began looking around. The team continued walking while exploring the abandoned building until they entered an office and spoke to each other.

Jack: This is SHIELD.

Anne: Maybe where it started.

Alex: Howard Stark, Tony's father.

Natasha: Who's the girl?

Jack: Margaret Elizabeth Carter.

Anne was staring at Peggy and Howard's pictures as they continued moving forward until Winters noticed the book shelf and moved the shelf as they noticed a elevator.

They entered the elevator and began moving through the lower levels until the elevator stopped and the doors were opened. The team were at a underground base as they saw old computers around the base.

Natasha: This can't be the data-point. This technology is ancient.

She inserted the flash drive on the computer as they saw something in the computer.

Computer: Initiate system?

Natasha: [Typing] Yes.

Jack: [Looks at the computer] "Shall we play a game?"

The team were looking at the computer until. . . . . .

????: Winters, Anne. Born, 1918. Romanoff, Natalia Alianovna. Born, 1984. Ryan, Jack. Born 1986

The computer was staring at Alex until it said something to him.

???: Ambrose, Alex Crowe. Born 1984. Though that isn't your real name, Ghost.

Natasha: What is this? It looks like a recording.

?????: I am not a recording. I may not be the man I was when the Captain took me prisoner in 1945, but I am.

Another computer was opened as a picture was shown.

Anne and Jack were shocked by who it was as Natasha and Alex looked at them and spoke to them.

Natasha: Do you know this thing?

Jack: Arnim Zola. . . . . .

Anne: He was a German scientist who worked for the Red Skull. He's been dead for years.

Zola: First correction, I am Swiss. Second, look around you. I have never been more alive. In 1972 I received a terminal diagnosis. Science could not save my body, my mind, however, that was worth saving on two hundred thousand feet of data banks. You are standing in my brain.

Alex: How did you get here?

Zola: Invited.

Natasha: It was Operation Paperclip after World War II. SHIELD recruited German scientists with strategic value.

Zola: They thought I could help their cause. I also helped my own.

Anne: HYDRA died with the Red Skull.

Zola: Cut off one head, two more shall take its place.

Jack: Prove it.

Zola: Accessing archives.

A video was shown on the other computer as it showed Red Skull along with the rise of HYDRA and Zola began speaking to the team.

Zola: HYDRA was founded on the belief that humanity could not be trusted with its own freedom. What we did not realize, was that if you try to take that freedom, they resist. The war taught us much. Humanity needed to surrender its freedom willingly.

Zola: After the war, SHIELD was founded and I was recruited. The new HYDRA grew.

Zola: A beautiful parasite inside SHIELD.

Zola: For seventy years, HYDRA has been secretly feeding crisis, reaping war and when history did not cooperate. History was changed

Natasha:. . . . . .That's impossible, SHIELD would have stopped you.

Zola: Accidents will happen

Zola: HYDRA created a world so chaotic that humanity is finally ready to sacrifice its freedom to gain its security. Once the purification process is complete, HYDRA's new world order will arise. We won, Captain. Your death amounts to the same as your Life; a zero sum.

Anne was angry and punched the computer as she saw another computer was opened and Zola spoke to them.

Zola: As I was saying.

Jack: What's on this drive?

Zola: Project Insight requires insight. So I wrote an algorithm.

Alex: What kind of algorithm? What does it do?

Zola: The answer to your question is fascinating, Ghost. Unfortunately, you all shall be too dead to hear it.

Suddenly multiple doors were closed as the team were looking around until Natasha said something.

Natasha: Guys, we got a bogey. Short range ballistic. 30 seconds tops.

Anne: Who fired it?

Natasha: SHIELD.

Zola: I am afraid I have been stalling, Captain. Admit it, it's better this way. We're both of us. . . . .out of time.
