Bajada - Amburn Reference Sheet

Here we go - the finished version of the WIP I posted a while back. It took a while to complete, but not as long as I thought it would, which is good!

I do apologise for that burst of inactivity and lack of updates for a few days. I've been super busy getting ready for the start of my new school year. So, with that of course, comes the sad period of slow and rare uploads :/ I will try to push out art and maybe adoptables, I'll have to see how busy school leaves me.

Anyhow... back to the art!

Feel free to (politely) share your opinions on this reference sheet! Bajada (pronounced buh-hah-duh, the 'j' making a 'h' sound, as do all the j's in the names below) will be quite a major character, as she will not only be important in the climax of the TES main trilogy, but will have a Whyvarian Chronicle centred around her part in Amburn history!

She is a Amburn dragoness, as well as the first luniguer born on Whyvaria! Though, back then, luniguers were known as moonclaws. Bajada was born before the Guilds were even established, around 50 BG ('Before Guilds'), to Amburn parents Jackal and Mesa, and had two brothers from a younger clutch, Bergamot and Nopal.

(However, because the dragons back then used to speak a different, more ancient form of Drakion, the names are translated into what they are thought to mean in the 'modern language'. Jackal was translated from "Njasyjla" (meaning 'desert howler'). Mesa from "Rre'ywd" (meaning 'earth table'). Bergamot from "Wyteszi" (meaning 'bee's mint'). Nopal from "Luregen" (meaning 'prickly pear'). And Bajada was roughly similar to its present day form – "zajeda",  meaning 'descent' or 'slope'.)

(NOTE: All of the Ancient Drakion words above are from my own made-up language from the TES books, so don't copy them, thanks!)

Close-up of the headshot (I drew it in another canvas and then pasted the picture onto the ref sheet, so it would be easier to draw):

Moving away from the worldbuilding and lore of Bajada, I quite enjoyed drawing her! If I get a chance to, I definitely will once again! Her colours and design are pretty simple, and I have drawn Amburns probably more than any other Guild at this point...

Her eyes are a big anomaly among Amburns though, because not only are they much paler than the dark golds or deep oranges of most Amburns, but the dull greens and blues look more like opals, than amber pieces.

Oh, and just to note, she doesn't really like wearing a heck ton of the same jewellery at once, so she mixes it up from day-to-day. But in the palace that she lived in as the past-queen's royal moonclaw, she was told off by the queen if she didn't look fancy enough. So, basically, inside the palace she wore everything to satiate the queen. Outside the palace, she would only wear a few things at once, usually the necklace in the headshot along with one or two other pieces.

Well, I think I'll stop here for now. If I go on any longer with this rant about Bajada and her character and backstory and lore, I'll end up spilling out the plot of her chronicle by accident. ^^" But, if you got this far with the reading and found it interesting, add some sort of sun emoji (like a 🔆) in your comment to let me know! That would be much appreciated, and it'll show me that some people care to read the trivia I ramble about. :)

Thank you all so much for viewing and sorry again for the lack of updates lately! I hope you all have a lovely rest of your day/night everyone. Goodbye! <33
