"Sona," Kunal got down from the car and caressed her head.

"Where were you?"

"Your phone was unreachable and you weren't there at your office also?!" He complained not paying attention to the other person standing beside him.

She hugged her father smiling a bit apologetically.

Her single smile is enough to melt his heart.

"Where is your Scooty and how did you come?" He looked at the other person standing beside her.

Karthik smiled at them both in disbelief.

Likitha looked at her dad with a small smile averting her gaze towards Karthik.

These days Karthik slowly started envying Likitha for the bond she shares with her dad.

Kunal got his answer and this time he smiled at him and gave a brief hug. He can't stop himself from expressing thanks through this simple gesture.

After all, Who did he help? His darling daughter.

This surely surprised both the young people standing in front of him.

Don't know why Likitha felt happy and lucky to have Karthik beside her. Such a great feeling.

"Thank you, Karthik.."Kunal spoke slowly trying hard to hide both pain and surprise.

"Her safety and happiness are my responsibility, I Promised you, uncle," Karthik said a bit seriously with utmost sincerity.

Kunal nodded meekly smiling at him heartily.

This is what he always wanted, Now his daughter is in good hands he felt contented.

Prajwal parked his bike and came running to his father and Sister in worry. Where hasn't he searched for her?

"Oh my God, You frightened us, Why are you so reckless every time?"Prajwal shouted at her.

"This habit of yours always annoys others, think about us once?"

"Dad almost got a panic attack." He warned her in rage.

Kunal glared at him asking him to stop.

"I forgot to charge my phone and my scooty got some problem, Sorry. " She mumbled looking here and there not trying to meet his eyes.

He is truly angry with his sister for her reckless behaviour and this time his reason is so genuine, She too can't do anything.

Karthik looked at Prajwal and they stared at each other intently. He didn't like her brother shouting at her.

With that one look, Prajwal walked away from there ignoring others, this time he didn't bother about his dad too.

Kunal didn't pay much attention to Prajwal's action.

The three walked into the house and Sukriti came to them smiling widely.

"You came and you don't have any idea what hasn't your dad did?"She too hugged her daughter.

Her eyes glistened like stars looking at Karthik, His presence gave her many answers to her unspoken questions.

Likitha surprised to see her parents praising him.

They are adoring him with a gleam in their eyes, with a gentle smile playing on their lips.

This fluttered her heart.

She felt happy, excited, proud and lucky.

His hands brushed her hand for a second and she felt a kind of spark lit in her body.

She quickly looked at him and found him already staring at her with a different kind of emotion.

He quickly broke the gaze and moved away from her looking away, gasping some air.

She felt embarrassed and her cheeks became red, She isn't that naive to read the thoughts running in his mind.

This unnecessary proximity might be disturbing him.

Now she realized, What did she do half an hour before.

She hugged him and her cheeks got flushed with the thought.

What all she wants to do is to run away from there and hide in her room.

He whispered her name slowly asking her attention.

She lifted her head and looked at him.

"I will leave," He said to everyone stealing few glances of her from the corner of his eye.

"It's dinner time"

"Why can't join us?" Sukriti asked his nephew tugging his hand.

"I have some urgent work, maybe tomorrow or some other day," He said smiling at her trying to convince her with puppy eyes.

"Okay, but promise me, you will make it tomorrow"

"I won't allow any kind of excuses," She said like a school teacher.

Prajwal walked into the living room getting changed into casuals.

He took some time for him to understand what just going there.

He got irritated and kept a grumpy look, at the point he got so worried when her mother asked him to invite Karthik for dinner.

"You have to come at least for your aunt," Kunal spoke surprising everyone with his words.

"I will come..." He said assuringly and took a pause whispering something in Likitha's ear.

She felt chills down her spine listening to his words.

"Especially for you, my Sona..."He said with a bit of mischief in his tone.

She smiled at his words involuntarily and her heart just sank with a kind of unknown emotion.

He walked away from there leaving all of them in the living room.

"I will go and change"She excused herself and ran into her room.

All of them dined happily but Prajwal still carried a grumpy face.

Likitha got worried about his expression and badly wants to know why he is angry with Karthik?! What did he do such to make her brother angry?!

She saw him glaring at Karthik and this is hurting her.

She followed him to his room and gently knocked on the door after dinner to find the truth.

Prajwal opened the door and surprised to see his sister standing in front of him with a sullen face.

He moved aside asking her to get in.

She walked in with a sad smile and sat on the corner of his bed with a pale face.

Her face looked void of any emotion.

He walked to her in a single stride and stood in front of her knitting his eyebrows.

"Bro, are you angry with Karthik? But why?"She asked him holding her head.

"What?!"Prajwal got surprised by her words.

A faint smile appeared on his lips but he wiped it off soon before she catches it.

"Tell me, Why are you angry with Karthik?" She asked again looking straight into his eyes.
