One day, it began to rain and clouds blocked the sky. Everyone that was out had an umbrella except one girl who walked confidently down the street. She bumped into a girl with beautiful brown eyes and long, silky black hair. The girl asked her why she didn't have an umbrella. The girl with no umbrella answered, "because no one can see me" and walked away from the shocked girl.

The boy who had asked those questions didn't understand what the two girls meant by that. He didn't see how rain could be a positive thing. On a rainy day, on his way back from school he saw two girl walking on the other side of the road, with no umbrellas. He studied closer and saw that it was the same two girls that he had interviewed. He watched closer and noticed that they were smiling. The boy was stunned. Never once had he seen those two girls smile. He thought they looked beautiful in the rain.

The next day, he approached the two girls as they walked on the side of the road. He asked them why they acted so different in the rain than in their daily lives. They looked at him strangely and said, "because the rain accepts us for who we are." The boy stopped, amazed on how honestly and confidently the two girls answered his question but he still didn't understand what they meant. How could the rain, which is just a part of Earth's natural water cycle, be able to accept them?

A year passed and the boy was sad all the time. He had high scoring grades but he was bullied all the time. He was made fun of and lost all of his friends. No one came to help him.

He forgot his umbrella one day and it began to pour. He was forced to walk home with no protection from the rain. As he began to walk, he was amazed on how free he felt. Tears began to stream down his face, his bottled up feelings spilling out. He passed by several people but no one stopped to ask if he was okay. Only the rain did. The rain protected him. The rain saw that he was crying and made it so no one else did. The rain accepted him.
