"Hi!"

Ragini glared. "Why are you at my doorstep?"

"Can't I be in my future in-laws doorstep?" Laksh uttered with a pout.

Ragini's eyes twitched in irritation.

It had been a week since the kidnapping incident. And Laksh seemed to have been possessed in her opinion. He kept pestering her and following her around.

"Of course you can beta!" Parvati spoke, coming near.

'Another thing I'm bewildered about!' Ragini snorted. She couldn't believe how happy Dadi, Swara and everyone was with Laksh giving her all the attention. She didn't Laksh in trouble and hence never mentioned his liking of Swara to anyone.

Didn't mean she would accept his claim of his new found feelings for her.

Ragini looked cross-eyed at the tulips shoved below her nose on shock.

"Your favorite, aren't they?" Laksh grinned. "Like them?"

Parvati chuckled at Laksh's antics. "I'm sure she loves them. Don't be shy, Ladoo." with a smile, she left.

Ragini snatched the bouquet from his hands. "What exactly are you trying to do?! I told yo-" her eyes widened as a chocolate was shoved inside her mouth.

Laksh watched her with a goofy smile. "It's so peaceful now, no?"

Ragini pulled out the chocolate and turned her face to the side with a huff. She squeaked when she felt his lips on her cheek.

She turned to look at his grinning face with indignation. "You...you pervert!"

"Ahahaha...! Awww...cute." Swara commented, coming near them, her container of jhalmuri in her hands. "Ragu, just accept him. He's totally into you!"

"He's just mistaken. Moreover, he's just a player! I'm not falling for his innocent face!"

Swara sighed in frustration. Taking a fist full of jhalmuri, she dumped it on top of Ragini's head. "Stop being an idiot and accept his love!"

Ragini grit her teeth in anger. Laksh already had her pissed off with his actions through out the week. Swara was ruining it further.

With force, she snatched the container and dumped the rest of the jhalmuri on Swara's head. "Don't try to teach me!"

Swara watched in shock as Ragini stormed off. "Hya! Come back here! Oi!" shouting behind her, Swara followed her inside.

Shekhar, who saw everything, sighed. He saw Laksh still standing there, looking down. 'Poor guy. He's hurt from Ragini's rejection I bet. Irrational Ragini. Tsk!' he was about to go console him, when suddenly, Laksh exclaimed.

"Aish! How could they?! They threw all of it on the floor. If they didn't want the jhalmuri, they could have just handed it to me and fought by pulling each others' hair. Aish! Waste of good food!"

Shekhar pinched his nose and took a 180° turn. 'He's equally irrational. Argh! I fear what kids they will raise. Aish, aish, aish!'

Later...

Ragini reached forward to close the window of her room. It was almost dusk.

However, she didn't expect a familiar face to appear at the window sill with a big grin.

"Hi!"

"Aaa!" Ragini closed her eyes and placed a hand over her racing heart. Once calm, she glared at him. "You almost scared me to death!"

"What's wrong is that you keep pushing me away!" Laksh pouted. "Come on. Please, hear me out once. I really think I'm in love with you."

Ragini grit her teeth and pushed him away. "You're so cruel. Stop playing with my feelings. Just because you pity me, doesn't mean I'll accept your love!"

"But it's not pity! Trust me Ragini. I real-!"

"No, you don't. It's just that you feel since I love you more than my life, you should love me back!"

"Aish!" Laksh shook his head in disbelief. Placing his hands on his hips, he sighed. "What am I supposed to do to make you believe I really love you, huh? What?!"

"There's nothing you can do. I know you're mistaken." Ragini chided. "Or is it that your heart is so fickle as to toggle from Swara to me so easily?!"

At her words, Laksh's expression turned grim. "Okay, now that's going a bit to far."

Ragini scoffed. "Truth hurts, doesn't it?" Ragini balled her hands into fists. "I loved you. But now, your pity for me is making me hate you all the more."

Laksh kept glaring at her. Her stubbornness was really pissing him off. "So you won't ever accept me?"

"No!"

"You hate me now?!"

"Yes!"

"Then I'll go and stand before that truck!"

"Fine! Whatever!" Ragini shouted in anger and shut the window on his face. Turning back with a huff, she crossed her arms over her chest.

A second passed...

Ragini gasped as his words finally smiled in. "NO!" at once, she pushed open the window. However, seeing him nowhere, she jumped out herself and ran towards the gate.

"Laksh! Lak-" Ragini breathed in a breath of relief seeing he was okay.

However, she felt like a fool for making her worry for him so obvious.

Laksh smirked. "I was standing in front of this parked truck. Were you worried I was going to jump in front of a moving one? Aww...but didn't you hate me?"

Ragini grit her teeth. "You...you...ugh!"

"Awww...what a cute roar." Laksh approached closer. "Don't worry love. I'm not suicidal. I plan to live till the end of my days...beside you."

Ragini closed her eyes and sighed.

Grinning from ear to ear, Laksh was about to start his flirting. However, her shaky breath made him pause. "Ragini?" his eyes widened as he watched her sniff, which soon turned into soft sobs. "Hey, Ragini? Hey, Giniiiii! I'm sorry if I went too far, okay?"

"You're doing this since several days!" Ragini cried out. "Why Laksh?! Why are you trying so hard?! I never want you to sacrifice your love for Swara just because of what happened at the kidnapping. Just...just let go of it. You're making me feel pathetic. Like...like I'm the villain keeping you away from Swara!"

Laksh bit his lip from cooing at her cute sniffs. 'Definitely won't be the right thing to do now.' with a kind smile, he took her by the chin and made her look into his eyes. "Ragini, don't look away okay. Listen to what I have to say, and then decide."

Letting out a sniff, Ragini stared at him. Eventually, she nodded.

"Listen Ragini. It's true I liked Swara. It was because she was like a storm which burst into my life out of nowhere. She was an enigma to me and she caught my interest. She was a challenge and a mystery. But...that's where it ends. I liked her." he rubbed her tears away. "When I'm with her, I'm happy. But when I'm with you, I'm at peace."

"How is that different?"

Laksh gave her a soft smile. "She's the storm that made my heart race. But you're the autumn breeze that make my heart feel serene. I never noticed how much you mean to me, always looking for entertainment and fun. But when I thought of it, I was able to be so carefree despite many troubles was because...because I knew I had at least one person whom I could always return to. And that person was you, Ragini."

"Really?" Ragini asked in a shy voice.

Laksh nodded. "I like Swara, yes. But I love you. If Swara changes herself tomorrow, I can't guarantee if I'll like it. But...when I think about you, I'm ready to accept you no matter what. All I can think is that I want you by my side. Once I imagined a life with Swara. There was still you with me as a friend. There is no situation I can imagine where you're not there. I know I love you because you bring me peace. I love you because when I think of your smile, I want to be the one who it is for. I know it's love because I want to lock you away so that no sorrow can ever touch you. I know it's love because..." Laksh brought her hand and placed it over his beating heart. "Because this heart beats just a little faster when I speak your name...Ragini."

Ragini swallowed as she felt the thumps of his heart beneath her hand all the while staring at his eyes. She could see no lies in them.

"You really mean all of it?"

"Every single word." Laksh's smile widened, knowing he was finally able to get through to her. "Now, do you believe me?"

Ragini sniffed one last time and smiled back. "I...I do."

"Thank goodness! I really thought I have to go under a moving truc-ow!"

"Don't say such things!" Ragini glared. "Or I'll kill you myself!"

"Aish! You like when love is rough, eh? Awww...naughty Gini."

Ragini blushed beet red at his words. "Why you..."

"Ow! Ow-wait! You love me-ow! Remem-ow-ber! Giniiiii!"
