Shot 6: 8 Lakhs

Kavya was finally discharged from the hospital.

On her way home, her eyes land on Lakshya who was standing near the stall.

"Driver, stop the car." Kavya orders and the car stops.

As college was over, Lakshya was waiting for Karthik and Nikhil by the tea stall.

Kavya sees them walking towards him and gets down from the car.

Lakshya smiles at them and they don't smile back. "What's the other truth you hid from us?" Nikhil asks as soon as they stop in front of Lakshya.

"What do you mean?" Lakshya asks, arching his eyebrows confusingly.

Kavya manages to hide behind a tree and has a clear audio of their talks.

"Don't act innocent. What was the truth that Ragini's grandma told you?" Karthik asks.

"Nothing."

"Why are you hiding it from us? What is it that you don't even want to say a word of?" Nikhil curiously asks.

"You love Ragini. . . Did we judge you? You accepted her Daadi's challenge of earning 50 Lakhs, did we stop you?" Karthik utters and Kavya looks on.

"Ragini is the girl who stole my Lakshya." Kavya whispers to herself shockingly and continues hearing their words.

"Our main focus should be me winning the challenge." Lakshya utters, diverting the topic.

"Not until you tell us what truth her Daadi told you." Nikhil and Karthik were adamant on getting the answer.

Lakshya sighs and brings them to the side and behind the tree Kavya was standing and listening, she moves back and hides herself.

"Ragini had throat cancer, she lost her voice and can't talk again." Lakshya tells, shocking Nikhil, Kavya and Karthik.

Nikhil and Karthik looks at each other, remembering Navya's word of Lakshya deserving to know the real truth.

"And this is what Ragini's Daadi told you?" Lakshya shakes his head positively at Nikhil's question.

"That girl can't speak? How will you spend your whole life with her?" Karthik asks, surprising Nikhil and Lakshya.

"What is wrong with you, you just said you won't judge or tell me to stop."

"That was with earning the money. But it's a waste of time Lakshya. Just forget Ragini, you have no future with her."

Nikhil was looking at Karthik surprisingly as he didn't expect Karthik to say that.

"Just shut up Karthik."

"How many mouths will you shut? That Ragini can't even speak so what future would she give you? Your future would be ruined."

"Karthik. . ."

"You shut up Nick, it's between me and Lucky." Karthik rudely says, interrupting before Nikhil could say anything.

"Why are you shutting him up? It's you who should shut up. Instead of helping me, you're demotivating me." Lakshya irritatedly says, not happy at all with Karthik's response.

"Listen Lakshya, I'm saying it for your betterment. Just forget Ragini. That girl can't give you anything."

"Just shut up Karthik."

"That girl can't speak. She's bloody dumb! How can you love her? Why are you willing to do this for her?"

"Just shut up!" Lakshya shouts, clenching his fists.

"That girl isn't worth you. You deserve better."

Lakshya had lost his patient and punches Karthik. Shocking Kavya as well as Nikhil as she was still stood behind the tree.

"Just shut up. I don't want to hear anything against her or anything bad about her. I can't believe you! Just because she can't speak, that doesn't mean she shouldn't be deserved to be loved. She's still a human, she still has feelings and she deserves to be loved like everyone else does." Lakshya responds while Karthik looks at him.

"Her voice has nothing to do with her heart. I love her heart, not her voice. A voice doesn't define who a person is. Yes, she may not talk but love doesn't need a voice to convey feelings, sometimes unsaid things are heard by the heart. Nobody is perfect but everyone are beautiful in their own way." Lakshya adds and sighs.

Karthik smiles. "Don't take my words to heart Lucky, I was just testing you."

Nikhil and Lakshya confusingly arch their eye-brows.

"Usually people get influenced by the society and change their decisions but I'm glad you're still willing to stay with her no matter what others say." Karthik proudly utters and smiles at Lakshya.

Lakshya and Nikhil shake their heads in disbelief and Lakshya pulls him into a hug.

"You had us there." Nikhil utters as he sighs a relief and Kavya sighs irritatedly.

Nikhil joins the duo in their hug. "Guysss." Nikhil adds, breaking the hug and grabbing their attention.

"Street fighting. You can earn at least a Lakh in a day." Nikhil suggests and Karthik shakes his head.

"How do you get these cheap ideas in your brain?"

"At least it's better than nothing." Nikhil remarks.

"Don't start on it again." Karthik answer's back and Lakshya sighs this time.

"I'll give it a try." Karthik and Nikhil look at him.

"Lucky, it's dangerous. You won't be able to do it, we have other ways. . ."

"What ways Karthik? What else can I do? I don't see any other way."

"There are other ways. We just need to search."

"I've looked Karthik, it's coming up with nothing. I even called the music director who wanted to sign me years ago but he backed off." Lakshya sighs, giving up and looking away disappointedly.

"At the end of the day it's your choice, I won't stop you but I won't recommend it either."

Lakshya scoffs, looking up at him. "I don't have a choice."

Karthik looks at Nikhil who shrugs. "It starts tonight at 8. There will be loads of people, you'll get a lakh for one match I think."

"I'll meet you at 8 then." Lakshya utters and Nikhil nods positively.

"And I'll search for better jobs you could do." Karthik says and Lakshya nods.

"Good luck." Nikhil wishes and Karthik gives him a fake smile.

"I will never let you win Lakshya. If you can't be mine then I won't let you be anyone else's. I loved you and you broke my heart, now I will make sure your broken heart joins with mine." Kavya promises herself in a low tone and secretly walks away without being noticed.

Ragini enters her house and was stopped by Parvati.

"Did that boy come college today?" Ragini shakes her head negatively and Parvati nods.

"Hmm, you go and get freshen up." Ragini nods and walks towards her room.

A smirk curves up Parvati's lips as she stares into space. "That boy will soon give up."

Parvati believes it will be impossible for Lakshya to earn 50 Lakhs.

Slowly the evening began to disappear and Lakshya was missing from Maheshwari Mansion. AP was slightly getting worried as Lakshya didn't come for dinner but Sujata consoles her.

Lakshya, who had been in the gym finishes his exercise and begins to pack up.

"I need to win these fights, I'm sure there won't be too many strong men." Lakshya says to himself and begins to console self.

"What if there are strong men. I'll be dead." Lakshya says and inhales a deep breath of fear.

He begins to walk out from the gym and sees Nikhil.

"Where's Karthik?" Lakshya asks while reaching up to Nikhil.

"He didn't come but forget him, come let's go." Lakshya nods and Nikhil walks with him.

"He should defeat Lakshya but I don't want anything happening to Lakshya. He shouldn't win the fight." The phone disconnects and Kavya turns with a smirk.

Kavya has sent men which she knows Lakshya wouldn't be able to defeat.

"Now I'll see how you will win Lakshya." Kavya says to herself and taps her phone with her palm.

Lakshya reaches the place where there were many people. They were cheering onto a fight which was happening.

Seeing the men fighting frightened Lakshya but he manages to calm his heart.

"Good luck." Nikhil whispers and the match finishes.

"Dragon won!" Everyone happily cheer and Lakshya gulps.

"If the names are scary then the man must be 10 times worser." Lakshya whispers but Nikhil couldn't hear it.

"Is there anyone who is ready to defeat the Dragon?" The referee asks and Nikhil looks at Lakshya, signalling him to go.

Lakshya inhales and exhales deep breaths, preparing himself. Before he could walk forward to nominate, Karthik stands in between him, surprising both Lakshya and Nikhil.

Karthik holds Lakshya and Nikhil's hand and drags them away from the crowd.

"Why did you drag us out?" Nikhil asks as they stop by the cars.

"I've found you a better way to earn 5 Lakhs today."

"5 Lakhs?" Lakshya's eyes widens as he asks and Karthik nods.

"What? How?" Nikhil asks.

"He needs to sing."

"Sing?" Both Lakshya and Nikhil ask at the same time.

"It's better than breaking your jaw. You need to sing in a college concert, their singer has a sore throat and wouldn't be able to perform, I talked to them and recommended you, they said they will happily accept you cause all they want is their respect being saved in front of 1000 people." Karthik explains and Lakshya smiles.

"If you didn't come on time then my jaw would've definitely broke." Lakshya, in a thankful tone says.

"What are we waiting for? Let's go." Nikhil says and the trio begin to rush.

A man, who was eyeing them from a distance takes his phone out and dials a number. "Hello Ma'am, they had a change of plan. He's going to somewhere else."

"Follow him and just ruin it for him." Kavya, from the other side of the phone orders.

"Okay." The man agrees and disconnects the call, hurrying so that he could follow them.

The man rushes to his jeep but as he glances around, he doesn't see them. "Where did they go?"

The three reach the college which was closer to the street fight area.

"Thank you for coming." The principal of the college says and Lakshya smiles at him.

"Where do I need to perform?" He asks and the principal asks a guy to guide him.

"We want music! We want music! We want music!" The crowd was wild, they surely wanted music, it was as if a hungry animal is set to hunt their prey.

The lights go off and the crowd becomes silent slowly. "Do you all want to hear a song?"

"Yes!!" The crowd roar.

"Want it now?"

"Yes!!!" The shout louder.

"Then welcome me on stage! Name is Lucky by the way."

"Hmm?" The crowd confusingly utters as the looks at one another.

The lights turn on and Lakshya was stood on the stage, strumming the guitar.

The flashlights start to increase and more people begin to record him.

Lakshya continues to sing and make the crowd love him, though he isn't famous but they make him feel as if he's a celebrity.

The whole night until 12am, the singing had continued. Due to the timing finishing, the crowed needed to disappear so that everyone can go home and take rest.

"Thank you so much for coming." The principal thanks and Lakshya smiles in return, he then pays them 8 Lakhs, surprising them.

"I know I said 5 but the original price was 10. He did such an amazing job and had willingly stayed till 12, so he deserved it."

Lakshya, Karthik and Nikhil smile and leave with the money.

"I'm so tired." Nikhil yawns and both Lakshya and Karthik give him a look.

"What? Now am I not allowed to be tired?" Karthik sighs and Lakshya shakes his head in disbelief.

While they were walking down, someone snatches the money bag from Karthik and runs away with it.

Lakshya, Karthik and Nikhil look on shockingly and start chasing him.

"Stop!" Lakshya shouts and increases his speed.

While running, Nikhil falls over, Karthik and Lakshya continue running behind the guy whilst Nikhil gives up and sits up, panting and catching his breath.

The man sits in a jeep and the jeep moves away. Karthik finally stops, giving up but Lakshya continues running behind the jeep.

Sweats fall down Karthik's forehead and he looks into the sky, inhaling deep breath whilst panting.

"Stop!" He shouts and while running, he trips on the marbles they threw and falls on his knees.

"Ahh!" He hisses in pain and as he looks up, the jeep had disappeared.

Lakshya was totally disappointed and heartbroken. He's back to where he started from, Zero.

Karthik and Nikhil manage to catch up.

"You should be in the Olympics, damnnn! The way you ran. Uff." Nikhil expresses and Lakshya ignores his words.

He closes his eyes, feeling a small pain of loosing all that amount which he had just recently earned.

"Why would someone just randomly rob us?" Karthik asks, pointing out something which is to be noted.

"Point to be noted. Randomly at 12:10 with the jeep all ready and. . ." Nikhil trails off and looks down. "Marbles. Was this a plan?" He adds.

Lakshya opens his eyes, thinking about what Karthik and Nikhil are saying.

"It has to be. It seems like a normal planned robbery, they were probably gonna rob the other guy doing this concert." Karthik says and Nikhil nods, agreeing.

Lakshya, who was now depressed by the loss of 8 Lakhs clenches his fist, controlling his annoyance and frustration.
