SO A CAT DOES HAVE NINE LIVES...

Hey everybody! I'm feeling better and this book, sadly, is almost done, and this is the last chapter before the battle. I know, this was supposed to be the battle chapter but since the other chapter was just a filler chapter when I was sick but I will double update. Any who, here we go!!

Previously on Raelyn the Merciful....

"I'm going to go prepare for battle. You should try to get some sleep. Sweet dreams."

I smiled and replied: "sure, sweet dreams. You mean nightmares? After what the White Witch did to me I'm not going to sleep until she's dead."

"That can be arranged." Edmund replied, smirking.

"Don't you dare take my prophecy, battle boy! I'll destroy you! That's not a threat, that's a promise."

"Yeah yeah, get some sleep mighty warrior girl."

..................................................
The next morning....

Peter's POV

"Ed! Come out of there, let me look at you!" I called.

Edmund strode out of our tent with all of his armour on. It listened in the morning sunlight.

I was already wearing my armour and we made our way out of camp and towards the other troops who were ready for battle. I mounted my horse and Edmund mounted his, and we rode off, leading our people into a battle, with no idea of what we were really getting into.

Lucy's POV

Susan and I walked through the woods in utter silence. Our feet sloshed in the mud from the earlier downpour. Our boots were getting quite dirty, but we didn't complain. We were on our way to find Aslan's body and bring it back to camp where we would bury him.

Then we planned to vow our vengeance and declare war on the White Witch. I was still in shock from everything that happened these past few days. I let a tear silently roll down my cheek. Wiping it away, I noticed Susan's sympathetic eyes searching for my own. Once our eyes met, she smiled sadly and we continued our walk in silence.

Once we made it to a clearing in the woods, we saw the Stone table atop of a large set of stone steps leading to a giant stone floor, and quickly ran up the steps.

However, once we made it to the top, the Stone table was broken and Aslan was nowhere in sight.

"Where- where is he?" I asked, breaking the long silence. Susan didn't know.

"That evil witch!" She began. "She wouldn't even let us see him for one last time! They took him, Lucy! They took him."

Her voice cracked when she told me the horrible truth.

How could she? I wondered. She couldn't even let us hug him one last time.

"We must join the others." Susan told me.

I nodded.

We started making our way down the steps when we heard a roar. Then, all of a sudden, a huge gleam of light burst through the darkness of the woods.

I turned around, not believing what I saw! There in front of us stood... Aslan?

"Aslan!" Susan and I screamed in delight. "We thought you were dead!" I told him while I hugged his mane.

"In the deep magic, magic the witch doesn't even know of, if a traitor is saved by the life of an innocent who would sacrifice themself to save the traitor, then the deep magic would be broken. And, my power goes far past that of the witch." He smiled.

We climbed on his back as he told us to and he flew us away.

Peter's POV

"Are you with me?" I asked Orieus, who was standing by my side. He pulled out his sword and looked me square in the eye.

"To the death." He solemnly replied.

I raised my sword to the oncoming enemy, and we rode our horses into the battlefield.

A.N. hey! Hope you liked so I'm gonna go update the battle scene now😁
