DAMSELS, KNIGHTS, AND A DEAD KING

A.N. sorry for not updating sooner but I just got really mad. This whole chapter got deleted because before I could save it my device started updating. When it was done, this chapter was gone and I had to start it all over. I was done with it two days ago, and I've been re writing ever since. Shout out to Ninjawar3 for coming up with the idea for this next chapter. Enough of me, you all want to get to your story😜

Previously on Raelyn the Merciful...

I gulped. The witch's army poured down the sides of the stone table, and before I knew it, I came face to face with the White Witch herself.

"Raelyn. How nice of you to join us." Something cold hit the back of my head. "You will never win" I whispered, the white witch's evil smile was the last thing I saw before falling into darkness.

................................................

Edmund's POV

I had a terrible nightmare last night and I decided to take a walk. The uneasy feeling in my stomach urged me to bring a weapon in case and I shoved a dagger in a sheath around my waist. I kept thinking about Raelyn, I don't know why. Was something wrong?

I didn't think I should check on her in case I woke her up. Oh, who am I kidding? No one else would be up it's 2 in the morning.

As I moved deeper into the woods I realized this walk really got away from me. The underbrush ate away at my ankles but I didn't care. I stepped on something cold and uncovered it. It was a dagger still in a red leather sheath.

This looks familiar.

I picked it up and examined it.

It has some sort of inscription on the side. Banerette?

"Raelyn!" I yelled at the top of my lungs. "Raelyn!"

..................................

Raelyn's POV

I heard a crackling noise. It continued. I realized that just regained consciousness.

What happened to me?

Then the memories came running back to me. I winced at the sudden headache. With all my might, I opened my eyelids, praying that I wouldn't be at the hands of the White Witch. Praying that someone rescued me while I was unconscious and defenseless.

Nope.

The crackling noise that I heard was the torches of my enemies who were surrounding me. I was still quite fuzzy, I wasn't with it.

Why? Why am I so different?

I tried standing up but found out that my hands were tied behind my back. I looked down at my legs and they were bleeding.

That coward of a witch whipped me while I was asleep.

"Tell us, Banerette, what are the numbers of your army? Are you planning an attack?" The Witch smirked.

"I don't know" I lied.

"You think I'm stupid? The great cat has surely told you everything! You're his warrior, little girl." She sneered.

"I'm not telling you anything." I replied.

"Ah, so you admit that you do know! Lying is a bad thing, Raelyn. It must be punished." Smiling, she waved her hand to her dwarf, Olathe.

Chuckling, he waddled up to where I was tied. "Ready for round two?" He asked.

"That's okay, I don't want-" but before I could finish he started whipping me. An ogre held me still by the ropes around my arms that were tied behind me.

"Tell me!" The Witch screamed.

"Never" I barely whispered. I was getting weaker by the second.

Save me, somebody. Please!

I prayed silently as tears rolled down my face.

The dwarf handed the whip off to another. My vision was getting blurry and it started drizzling. The creature was even more cruel than the first. He whipped my back, my arms and my shoulder. Finally he whipped me right across the stomach and I gasped, surprised at how intense the pain had become.

He continued this for a while until I dropped down onto the stone floor, exhausted and ready to give up. For some reason, the dwarf stopped.

"No reason to put her out of her misery so quickly, Olathe. We have other matters to attend to."

And like that they left. They left me as it started to rain. Still tied, helpless. They left me here to die..

..............................................................

Edmund's POV

"Raelyn!!" I yelled. Running through the forest, I was able to track her footprints. That is, until it started to rain.

This is stupid. Maybe this isn't even hers. Oh, who am I kidding? Of course it's hers. I can't give up when she might be in trouble.

And then, I heard something. It sounded like - crying? More like a hurting pained kind of crying.

"Raelyn?" The sobbing continued.

I ran further until I came upon a clearing. I stood in awe.

The Stone table!

And there was Raelyn. Wait, she was bleeding!

I ran up the steps to the stone table quickly and saw that she had been whipped severely.

It was the white witch.

"Raelyn? Are you awake?" I asked as I knelt by her side.

"No, please! Get away from me! I'm begging you! Please, don't whip me! Please, please.." Raelyn pleaded. My heart ripped in two seeing her like this.

"Hey, shh shh it's me Edmund. I'm not going to hurt you, I promise. Okay?"

She blinked open her eyes and smiled faintly when she saw that it was me.

"Help me" she faintly cried. Closing her eyelids, I started to panic.

"No, no! Raelyn, stay with me! Please, no!" I checked for a pulse, and it was hardly there. I grabbed my dagger and cut the ropes off her arms.

"shoot!" I yelled. I accidentally cut into her wrists with my dagger and they were bleeding pretty fast. I tore of the sleeves to my shirt and wrapped them around her wrist, trying to stop the bleeding. Picking her up in my arms, I ran back through the woods to get back to camp and get help. And soon.

1001 words!!

Yay so there you have it, please tell me what ya think and hopefully a new update will be out soon! Again, thanks to Ninjawar3 for the idea for this chapter. Love and kisses,
