God Maintains His Will

In all basic truth about God's will, this is perhaps the most described by scripture. That is that God maintains His will.

Philippians 1:6- "Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ."

When God starts His will, it is promised by scripture that He will see it to its completion. God never starts a good work without seeing that it is finished. God, in His great power, will intervene to allow His work to be done through us.

This may confuse some. Some say they started the work of God, or His will in their life, yet God in a dramatic fashion stopped it. This can bring many to great confusion about what God's will is in the first place.

It is as I have stated previously, too often Christians live their life, do their own will, and demand God to bless them. God will never bless a will that is not His even if it seems good and right in the moment. God shut down David Livingstone's will to go to China and sent him to Africa. However, when Livingstone finally lived in the will of God, the power of almighty God was seen overflowing in his work.

It is a basic concept, but one that is important to understand. God will always bless His will. He will never let a fire He set go to waste. The preaching of His very word will never return done in vain. How much more is the work that He does through us?

God wants to work greatly in us, and if we pray He will give us more than we could have ever imagined. Do not interpret this for the purpose of earthly wealth and desires. By this, it is that God will grant us such blessing above that we can imagine in the spiritual, and ultimately in Heaven where we will cast all our crowns back at the feet of Jesus.

Why is it that we cast our crowns at the feet of Jesus? I mean, these crowns are the rewards for our works here on earth, why not cherish them, and celebrate them with others? Possibly because we truly did not earn them or deserve them. Whose power is it by which we can accomplish anything? By whose power do we do the will of God? Christ! It is by the vine which does all the work that we, the branches, can receive the fruit of His labor.

Realize that we have no power to do good save the power God gives us. It is God that starts, and maintains His will. Make yourself a vessel this day. Allow God to work in and through you.
