Chapter 7: Omega

[Who are you guys liking so far? Who are you ready to meet next? What would you like to see happen? Comment below!]

Musa was what people tended to know as an 'early riser'. He had the ability to wake up as soon as the sun did and function like a regular person would by lunch time.

However, being woken up just a couple of hours after midnight, even the soft-spoken Omega seemed to be in a grouchy mood.

"That's not a cute face at all, Musa." Robyn commented, poking at the older male's cheek as he tugged on the pair of work boots that had been left for him at the door of the shared room. "How will you ever have a mate looking like you're ready to murder anyone who crosses your path?"

"I don't know. I heard psychopaths tend to attract other psychopaths, though." Musa bluntly commented, causing the white haired female to snort.

"But I'm serious!" Robyn exclaimed in a whining tone as she pressed her hand to the screen near the door and the two walked out into the long hallway as the door automatically opened and closed. "You're a pretty good looking Omega, but looks only last for so long. You have to snatch up an Alpha at some point!"

"I don't want a mate." Musa's statement caused the female to pause and stare at him wide-eyed. "I mean...Not like that. If I ever have a mate, then they'll have to look over my looks and my rank." He shyly explained, beginning to become more awake.

"Ah...No, I completely understand." Robyn said, nodding her head as she caught up to the Omega, linking their arms together. "You really are a great guy, Musa. You deserve someone who'll like you for you over anything else." She agreed in a solemn tone.

Catching the oddness in Robyn's reaction, Musa parted his lips, before he decided against it when they both walked into the main room that Musa had first seen the day before when he was being shown to his room.

He noticed immediately that Y/N was sitting on one side of the ugly green couch, surrounded by unusual papers, while Kit sat on the exact opposite with Kaminari while they ate.

"Omega Musa, good morning!" Alistair's exclamation from behind himself and Robyn caused the Omega male to jump and turn around, while the others seemed to put their attention on the two.

"G-good morning." Musa stuttered, hesitantly nodding his head in greeting.

"Did you sleep well? Or did you get any sleep at all?" The blond teased, winking at the Omega and causing Musa's cheeks to heat up a dark red hue.

"I'm sure he slept just fine, pervert." Y/N snapped at the Beta. "Robyn wouldn't play with someone we'd have to protect."

"Well..." Kaminari drifted off as he swayed his head in a 'sort of' motion.

"I would have, if only sweet Musa here wasn't so pure and sweet~" Robyn cooed, wrapping her arms around Musa's neck and causing the poor male to flush an even darker hue as she managed to press his head between her breasts.

"R-Robyn!" Musa whined.

"It's nice to see you two getting along already." Y/N sighed, looking sincerely relieved. She knew that it was very difficult for certain people to warm up to Robyn and her eccentric personality, but Musa seemed to be welcoming enough that she figured she wouldn't have to worry too much.

"Honestly, I was hoping for a little more drama." Alistair said with a bit of complaint, before he clapped his hands together. "On a completely other note, I have food prepared in the kitchen if you're both hungry." The blond told Musa and Robyn.

"Yay, food~!" Robyn cheered, before she sprinted back in the direction of the hallway they had just come from.

"Are you not eating, Y/N?" Musa questioned, glancing in the direction of the female Omega who had returned to her paperwork.

The (H/C) paused, before she glanced up at the male and smiled. "I got up earlier and ate already." She told him, startling the male as he wondered how anyone could function with the short amount of sleep. That is, if she fell asleep anywhere near when he had. "But thank you for your concern, Omega Kendall."

Musa hesitantly nodded his head, but before he could follow after Robyn he was stopped by the Cross Pack heir's voice addressing him once more.

"Omega Kendall, as soon as you're done eating I'll be taking you around the different areas that each unit works." Y/N informed. "Hopefully we'll find somewhere that you belong."

Musa wanted to state that he belonged in his little corner at the Whitdenn Daily, that he belonged in the bed of his own room at his apartment. That he certainly didn't belong cooped up in some sort of underground bunker surrounded by criminals, rejects, and people who thought they could change the world.

But instead he nodded his head and walked after where Robyn had rushed off to.

"Man, it was tense in there!" The white haired female laughed as soon as Musa walked into the room that looked like some sort of run-down kitchen.

Honestly, did any of this equipment still work?

"I see what you meant last night." Musa sighed in agreement as he grabbed a plate that was sitting on the counter and allowed the Beta to dump a pile of eggs on the dish. "I don't think the two even looked in each other's direction, and it's kind of odd that Kit is sitting near Kaminari when knowing that Alphas cause Y/N to be unsettled."

"You're a very perceptive Omega." Robyn declared, seeming quite proud of this information as she tapped the side of her nose and winked. "It's true that Y/N's not comfortable with Alphas, and Kaminari is not much of an exception. Don't get me wrong, she looks up to him. But it's almost like being around them drains her energy. Like she's using up all of her strength to not be looked down on by the higher rank." She explained.

Musa nodded his head in understanding. And he felt as if he did.

At the Daily it exhausted him to try and not run right out the door as soon as he enters. Alphas were scary creatures who assumed that they deserve to get anything that they wanted. He sensed that Kaminari didn't act like as much of an asshole as most of his coworkers, but he could imagine what it must take for Y/N as an Omega to try and keep her dominance as the pack leader around any Alpha.

"Still...Do you really think that it's because of me that they're fighting?" Musa shakily questioned, worried that just yesterday the two barely strayed an inch from each other.

"I was just picking at you last night." Robyn snorted, leaning against the counter and taking a bite out of a piece of toast. "It honestly could be something as simple as Kitty nitpicking at N/N's messy room or N/N commenting about Alpha Canmore. Who the hell knows?"

It was a rhetorical question, anyone could've guessed that. But there was something within Musa that wanted him to get the two childhood friends to make up.

"I know that face." Robyn suddenly exclaimed, her index finger inches from his nose when she pointed at him in an accusing manner.

"What face?" Musa asked, startled and confused.

"That's N/N's 'I want to save everyone' face! All of you Omegas have one, it seems." The female huffed in exasperation as she shook her head. "I'm telling you to just drop it. They'll figure it out soon, whatever it is." She assured.

Musa sighed, shakily nodding his head to show his agreement.

Why was he so worried about two of the people who technically kidnapped him from his normal life? And if Robyn, someone who knew them far better than himself, says that they'll make up, why did he have the urge to interfere?

Maybe Robyn was right. It had to be an Omega thing to want to save everyone.

"Are you guys done chit-chatting in here?" Musa jolted and was close to choking on the pile of eggs he had shoveled in his mouth out of surprise at the new, calming tone, while Robyn simply blinked and gazed over his shoulder.

"What did I tell you about eavesdropping, N/N?" Robyn questioned. "This is why we can never have surprise parties for you." The white haired Beta then pouted.

"Apologies." Y/N said as she pushed herself off of the opened door frame and began to walk towards the two. "But is it technically eavesdropping when the conversation includes me?" She questioned with a quirked eyebrow.

"It's definitely not the same thing, N/N!" Robyn exclaimed in a whining tone. "Musa, back me up here!"

Musa's eyes widened as both girls were staring at him, and he quickly placed his plate on the counter. "I'm done eating, didn't you want to show me around?" He innocently questioned.

"Hmm..." Y/N hummed, her neon gaze seeming to burn into him like green laser beams, before she nodded her head. "Yes, that's why I came to get you. You both were taking too long to return." She declared, before motioning towards the door with her head.

Musa quickly nodded his head, and the two walked out the door as Robyn shouted after them, "Traitor!"

It had become eerily quiet between the two as Y/N and Musa returned to the living room, no sight of any of the three males that were there moments ago. Had they really taken so long?

"I'm really sorry for talking about you and Kit behind your backs, Y/N." Musa muttered sheepishly.

"It's fine." Y/N assured, seeming to brush off the apology. "I know that you're both worried for our friendship, even though it's a bit odd for someone in your situation." Musa flinched as he could practically feel her eyes burn into him once more. "And I appreciate it. But it won't last long, Kit and I have been friends for a long time. A silly little disagreement such as this won't change anything." She chuckled, shaking her head.

Musa frowned, feeling as if there were something that he was missing, before he nodded his head to show he understood.

"Where are we going first?" He asked as they went down the stairwell towards the third floor.

"To Alistair's office." Y/N answered, not oblivious to the way that the male had tensed up at the name of the masochistic blond. "I want to get in and out as soon as possible when it comes to that...pervert." She huffed, shaking her head. "Then I'll take you to the medical unit, where you'll meet Coop. He tends to leave early and come back late, so you'll probably only be able to find him there." The female explained, crossing her arms and huffing softly. "Honestly, though. You'd think someone who's so worried about others' health would be worried about his own too."

"Is he an Omega?" Musa questioned, a bit curiously.

Y/N blinked, before she grinned for the first time that morning. "Wow, nice guess. How'd you know?" She asked.

Musa became a bit flustered by the praise, and he quickly glanced away from her. "Just something Robyn said." He muttered.

"Ah." Was Y/N's only response before they got to the third floor and began to walk in the direction of the room that Musa had woken up in the day before, causing the male to become understandably tense.
