September 2023

Manhattan, New York

The ride back to Y/N's apartment was quiet, each lost in their thoughts. Hailee was processing the possibility of pregnancy, unsure of how or when to tell Y/N. Meanwhile, Y/N was thinking about the heirloom ring, knowing he wanted to propose but wanting to wait for the perfect moment.

Once they arrived, they settled into the cozy apartment. Hailee excused herself to the bathroom, taking a moment to gather her thoughts.

Y/N: Want anything to drink, Haiz?

Hailee: Just some water, please.

Y/N poured two glasses of water and sat down on the couch, glancing around the apartment. It was filled with memories they had made together, and he felt a swell of love and gratitude for having Hailee in his life

Hailee returned, taking a seat next to him and accepting the glass of water.

Y/N: Everything okay?

Hailee nodded, taking a sip of water.

Hailee: Yeah, just...a lot on my mind.

Y/N: You know you can talk to me about anything, right?

Hailee leaned into him, feeling the comfort of his embrace.

Hailee: I know. It's just...I'm still processing some things. But I will, I promise.

Y/N kissed the top of her head, giving her the space she needed.

Y/N: Take your time, Hails. I'm here for you.

They spent the rest of the evening watching a movie, enjoying the simplicity of being together. Despite the unspoken thoughts and the anticipation of what the future might hold, they found solace in each other's presence

The Next Morning...

Y/N woke up to an empty bed, sunlight streaming through the curtains. He stretched, feeling the remnants of sleep in his muscles, and glanced around. It was their last day in New York before heading back to LA, where their busy lives awaited them.

He sat up and rubbed his eyes, listening to the quiet sounds of the apartment. The faint rustling from the bathroom indicated where Hailee was. He smiled, feeling a sense of contentment wash over him.

Y/N: Morning, Haiz! You alright in there?

Hailee, standing in the bathroom, was waiting for the results of yet another pregnancy test. She wanted to be absolutely sure before she told Y/N. The seconds felt like hours as she watched the little window on the test stick.

Hailee: Yeah, just freshening up! I'll be out in a minute.

Y/N got out of the bedroom and headed to the kitchen to make some coffee. As the aroma of freshly brewed coffee filled the apartment, he couldn't help but think about the future and the life they were building together. He knew he wanted to propose soon, but he was waiting for the perfect moment.

Meanwhile, in the bathroom, Hailee's heart pounded as she looked at the test. It was positive, confirming what she had already suspected. She felt a mix of emotions: joy, fear, excitement, and uncertainty...all swirling within her.

Taking a deep breath, she decided to keep it to herself for now. She wanted to find the right moment to tell Y/N, to make sure it was special and not rushed. She composed herself, trying to keep her emotions in check, and stepped out of the bathroom.

Hailee found Y/N in the kitchen, pouring coffee into two mugs. He looked up and smiled at her, his eyes filled with love.

Y/N: Morning, beautiful. Ready to start packing?

Hailee took the mug, smiling back at him, though her mind was still on the test.

Hailee: Morning. Yeah, I'll pack my bags after we're done here.

They sat down at the kitchen table, sipping their coffee and planning their day. Despite the thoughts and secrets both were keeping, they enjoyed the simple pleasure of being together, knowing that whatever the future held, they would face it side by side.

As they packed their bags, preparing to leave New York and return to LA, Y/N turned to Hailee with a thoughtful expression.

Y/N: Haiz, you mind if we have a quick detour before we head to the airport?

Hailee: Sure, where to?

Y/N: I'd like to visit my grandparents. Gordon and Lily. It's been a while since I've been to Riverside. I want to pay my respects.

Hailee nodded, understanding the importance of the visit.

Hailee: Of course, Y/N. Let's go.

They finished packing and loaded their bags into the car. The drive to Riverside Cemetery was quiet, filled with a sense of reverence

Y/N's age: 19

Riverside Cemetery, Upstate New York

Lily Specter's Wake and Funeral

The atmosphere at Riverside Cemetery was heavy with sorrow and reflection as Harvey gave his eulogy at Lily Specter's funeral. The overcast sky seemed to echo the somber mood, casting a gray light over the gathered mourners. As Harvey spoke, his voice trembled with the weight of his emotions.

Harvey: I always loved baseball. Got it from my dad...he taught me everything. How to pitch, how to hit. An hour in the batting cage was my favorite way of spending an afternoon. Which is why until recently, whenever I thought about baseball, I...always thought of him. But the truth is...it was my mom that took me to every practice...she cheered me on every game. Never missed a second...she was always there...even when I thought she wasn't. I didn't know that for a long time...but now I do.

His gaze drifted to Mike, who had shown up to pay his respects. The sight of his friend offered a small comfort in the midst of his grief

Harvey: She used to tell me that none of us were perfect...that we all make mistakes. But she always owned hers. She taught us about right and wrong...and forgiveness.

Harvey turned to face his mother's coffin, his voice faltering with emotion.

Harvey: I just have so many things I could say to you...things I should've said a long time ago.

He paused, struggling to hold back his tears.

Harvey: I'm so sorry...it took me so long. I'll miss you and I'll always love you...

As Harvey returned to his seat, his family gathered around him. Donna, ever his pillar of strength, sat beside him, her hand on his shoulder. Harvey's brother Marcus and his wife, Katie, offered their support, their presence a reminder of the family bonds that held them together even in times of pain

Other members of the firm were there too. Samantha Wheeler, Alex Williams, and Louis Litt all showed up, their expressions somber but supportive. The firm had always been more than just a workplace; it was a family, and in moments like these, their unity was palpable

After the funeral, the attendees gathered at Lily's house. The home was filled with a bittersweet mix of memories and the presence of those who came to pay their respects. Harvey, Donna, Marcus, and the rest of the family greeted friends and extended family members, accepting their condolences and sharing stories about Lily

Meanwhile, Y/N sat in Lily's study, surrounded by her paintings and the faint scent of her perfume lingering in the air. The room was a sanctuary of her creativity and warmth, each canvas a testament to the beauty she brought into the world. Y/N's tears fell freely as he looked at the unfinished paintings, feeling the weight of the moments they would never share

His heart ached with the regret of lost time, wishing he had more opportunities to be with her, to learn from her, and to hear her stories. The grief felt overwhelming, a heavy burden on his chest.

After a while, the door creaked open softly. Donna stepped inside, her eyes immediately finding Y/N. She walked over and sat beside him, wrapping an arm around his shoulders.

Donna: It's okay to cry, Y/N. She loved you very much, and she knew you loved her too.

Y/N leaned into his mother, the comfort of her presence providing a small solace.

Y/N: I just...I wish I had more time with her, Mom. There's so much I wanted to say and do.

Donna nodded, understanding the pain all too well.

Donna: I know, sweetie. We all feel that way. But she knew you loved her, and she was so proud of you. She wouldn't want you to carry this regret. She'd want you to remember the good times and carry her love with you.

Y/N wiped his tears, trying to find some peace in his mother's words. He glanced around the room again, taking in the vivid colors and intricate details of Lily's work

Y/N: She was amazing, wasn't she?

Present Day

Riverside Cemetery, Upstate New York

Y/N and Hailee stood side by side in the peaceful surroundings of Riverside Cemetery. The air was crisp, and the leaves rustled gently in the breeze. The place held a sense of solemnity and reverence, the final resting place of many loved ones, including Y/N's grandparents, Gordon and Lily.

Y/N held a bouquet of flowers in his hand, his eyes reflecting a mix of emotions as he looked down at the gravestones. Hailee stood close to him, offering silent support

He placed the flowers gently at the base of the gravestones, his heart heavy with the weight of memories and the passage of time.

Y/N: Hi, Grandma. Hi, Grandpa. It's been a while. So much has happened. I wish you could see how everything's turning out. I think you'd be proud.

Hailee squeezed his hand, her presence a comforting anchor.

Hailee: They are proud of you, Y/N. I can feel it.

Y/N nodded, taking a deep breath. He looked up at the sky, feeling a connection to his grandparents despite the physical distance between them now.

Y/N: I miss you both every day. But I'm doing my best to make you proud.

Hailee's eyes softened as she watched Y/N, her love for him growing even stronger in this moment.

Hailee: They're always with you, Y/N. In everything you do.

They stood there for a while longer, allowing the tranquility of the cemetery to wash over them.  And just as they turned around to leave, Y/N hears a familiar voice

Marcus: Y/N?

Y/N turned around, surprised to see his uncle Marcus standing a few steps away. Marcus's presence was unexpected but comforting, a reminder of the family ties that bound them all together.

Y/N: Uncle Marcus! What are you doing here?

Marcus: I could ask you the same thing. Just came by to pay my respects. It's good to see you, kid.

They embraced warmly, the bond between them evident. Marcus then turned to Hailee, extending a hand.

Marcus: And you must be Hailee. I've heard so much about you.

Hailee shakes his hand

Hailee: It's nice to finally meet you, Marcus.

Marcus: Likewise. How's everything going?

Y/N: It's been a rollercoaster, but we're managing. Just thought we'd visit Grandma and Grandpa before heading back to LA.

Marcus: I understand. It's important to stay connected to our roots.

They chatted for a few moments longer, catching up on family news and sharing memories. The unexpected meeting with Marcus added a sense of warmth and connection to their visit.

Marcus: You know, I'm really proud of you, Y/N. I know Grandma and Grandpa are too.

Y/N: Thanks, Uncle Marcus. That means a lot.

Marcus: Anytime, kid. Now, don't be a stranger. Come visit more often.

Y/N: We will. Promise. Tell Aunt Katie I said hello

As they said their goodbyes and headed back to their car, Y/N felt a renewed sense of purpose. The visit had not only allowed him to reconnect with his grandparents but also reminded him of the strength and support of his family

Heading to the airport, Hailee was already feeling the changes in her body due to her pregnancy. One of them...her libido

As Y/N was driving, Hailee puts her hand on his crotch, startling him

Y/N: Whoa, Hailee! What are you doing?

Hailee: Sorry, can't help it.

Y/N: We're on the road, Haiz. Maybe wait until we get to the airport?

Hailee: I guess I can wait a little longer.

She withdrew her hand, but the playful glint in her eyes remained

The drive to the airport was smooth, and they arrived with plenty of time to spare. As they boarded their flight and settled into their seats, Hailee leaned her head on Y/N's shoulder, feeling a sense of peace wash over her. She knew she had to keep her secret a little longer, but for now, she was content to enjoy the present moment with the man she loved

October 2023

Circuit of The Americas, Texas

U.S Grand Prix

The atmosphere at the Circuit of The Americas was electric. Fans from all over the world had gathered to witness one of the most anticipated races of the season. With Max Verstappen having already secured his third consecutive world championship in Qatar, the battle for second place in the drivers' championship was fiercer than ever. Charles Leclerc held a 20-point advantage over Y/N, while Sergio Perez trailed Leclerc by 25 points. Y/N was back, determined to reclaim his position and make history

Y/N was focused, his mind running through the strategies and possibilities for the race. He knew he had to perform at his best to close the gap on Leclerc and fend off Perez

As Y/N was preparing for the race, Hailee found herself in a VIP box with Florence, enjoying the buzz of the crowd and the excitement of the event. Florence, always the life of the party, offered Hailee a drink

Florence: Here, Haiz! A little something to celebrate Y/N's big comeback. Since there was no alcohol in Qatar...aparently

Hailee hesitated for a moment, her hand instinctively moving to her stomach. She knew she had to be careful, but she didn't want to raise any suspicions just yet. She decided to deflect the offer with a lighthearted excuse

Hailee: Oh, thanks, Flo, but I'm trying to take it easy on alcohol for a bit. Just focusing on staying healthy, you know?

Florence raised an eyebrow, a playful smirk forming on her lips.

Florence: Oh? Trying to keep up with Y/N's fitness routine, huh? Well, more for me then!

Hailee laughed, relieved that Florence bought her excuse. They continued chatting and watching the race, but Hailee's mind kept drifting to the secret she was carrying. She knew she had to tell Y/N soon, but today was about him and his race

After that, Ella walked in with little Michael, the atmosphere in the VIP box became even more lively. The little one was adorable, making everyone smile. Florence, in her usual upbeat manner, greeted Ella

Florence: Ella! Perfect timing. Look who's here! And guess what. Hailee's being all health-conscious today and skipping drinks

Ella and Florence hug

Ella: Oh really now?

Florence may have skipped it, but Ella wasn't buying it. She knew what it was like...after all, Michael wasn't even a year old yet, so the memories of her pregnancy were still fresh in her mind

As Florence goes inside of the VIP box to get some snacks, Ella approached Hailee with little Michael in her arms, a knowing smile on her face. She sat down next to Hailee, gently bouncing her son as she did.

Ella: Hailee, you know, being a mom teaches you to notice certain things. Are you okay? You seem a bit distracted.

Hailee bit her lip, her eyes darting to Michael. She took a deep breath, knowing she couldn't hide her feelings any longer

Hailee: El, I'm... pregnant. I haven't told Y/N yet. Today is such a big day for him.

Ella's eyes widened with excitement, but she quickly composed herself, reaching out to squeeze Hailee's hand.

Ella: Oh, Hailee, that's wonderful news! I'm so happy for you. It's understandable that you're waiting for the right moment. How are you feeling about it?

Hailee: A mix of excitement and nerves. I know Y/N will be thrilled, but it's such a big step. And with everything going on in his racing career...

Ella: Trust me, I get it. It's a lot to take in, but you two are strong together. When the time is right, you'll find the perfect moment to tell him. And if you need any support, I'm here for you.

Hailee felt a wave of relief wash over her. Ella's words gave her the reassurance she needed. They continued to chat, the bond between them growing stronger as they shared their experiences.

Ella: You know, I can already tell you're going to be an amazing mom. And Michael will have a little playmate soon!

Hailee smiled, feeling a mix of excitement and nervousness. She glanced back at the track, watching Y/N getting ready for the race, and felt a renewed sense of determination. She would tell him soon, but for now, she focused on the present moment, cherishing the excitement of the race and the secret she held close to her heart

"And it's Max Verstappen again! The champion wins in COTA. His 15th win of the season. Y/N Specter and Lando Norris close the podium in a McLaren 2-3!"

The roar of the crowd was deafening as Max Verstappen crossed the finish line first, his 15th win of the season, tying his record of most wins in a single F1 season. Y/N followed behind, securing second place, with Lando Norris right on his tail, ensuring a McLaren 2-3 finish. The podium was a sea of orange as the McLaren team celebrated their double podium finish

Rob: Great race, Y/N. Good job...

Y/N: Yup...feels like a win considering the pace of the Bulls.

Rob: Let's keep'em coming. There's still a lot of points to be conquered

In the VIP box, Hailee couldn't contain her pride and excitement. She watched as Y/N celebrated with his team, their joy and camaraderie evident even from a distance. She exchanged a happy glance with Ella, who gave her a supportive nod

As the celebrations on the podium continued, Hailee's thoughts were a whirlwind of emotions. She was thrilled for Y/N's success but also eager to share her news with him. She decided that tonight, after all the festivities, she would finally tell him

Later that day, Y/N and Hailee made their way back to the hotel, the cool night air a refreshing contrast to the heat and excitement of the day. When they finally reached their room, Hailee took a deep breath, feeling the weight of the news she was about to share.

Y/N noticed her hesitation and gently took her hand.

Y/N: Everything okay, Haiz?

She nodded, giving his hand a reassuring squeeze.

Hailee: There's something I've been wanting to tell you... and I think now is the right time.

Y/N's expression turned serious, concern flickering in his eyes. He led her to the bed, sitting down beside her.

Y/N: Whatever it is, you can tell me. I'm here.

Hailee took another deep breath, her heart racing. She looked into his eyes, drawing strength from his unwavering support.

Hailee: Y/N, I'm pregnant...

For a moment, Y/N's expression was one of surprise. Then, slowly, a smile began to spread across his face, growing wider with each passing second. His eyes sparkled with joy and disbelief

Y/N: WHAT?! Are you serious!?

Hailee nodded, tears of happiness welling up in her eyes.

Hailee: Yes...yes I am.

Y/N let out a laugh of pure delight, pulling her into a tight embrace. He kissed her forehead, his heart overflowing with love and excitement

Y/N: This is incredible news, Hailee. I can't believe it! We're going to be parents! I'M GONNA BE A FATHER!

Hailee laughed through her tears, feeling a profound sense of relief and happiness.

Hailee: I wanted to tell you sooner, but I didn't want to distract you before the race. I love you so much, Y/N.

Y/N: I love you too, Haiz. More than anything. And now, we're starting a new chapter together.

They sat there, wrapped in each other's arms, sharing in the joy of their future. The challenges and triumphs of the day faded away, replaced by the promise of the life they would build together

Hailee: You wanna...talk about names?

Y/N smiled, his eyes still shining with excitement as he held Hailee close.

Y/N: Sure, let's talk about names. Got any ideas already?

Hailee leaned back slightly, resting her head on his shoulder.

Hailee: Well, I've been thinking a lot about it. If it's a boy, I was thinking maybe...James? It sounds strong and classic.

Y/N: How about...Emily? Or Charlie...or Katherine...or Nadine...maybe Vi is a good one

Hailee laughed, playfully swatting Y/N's arm.

Hailee: Oh, you. Naming all my characters? You're so cheeky.

Y/N chuckled, pulling her closer.

Y/N: Well, they're all great names!

Hailee smiled, her heart full of love for him

Hailee: Well...how about Lily if it's a girl?

Dedicated to grandma. May you Rest In Piece
