The Edge was being destroyed. Thankfully the gronkle iron walls are helping. Dragons hunters were everywhere. The riders were destroying ship by ship, but more always came.

"Gang fan out. Astrid, Heather take the behind. Snotlout, Fishlegs take the middle. Ruff, Tuff I need a wall of fire. Then help me take out the archers." Ordered Hiccup the gang took off immediately. Arrows were fired. Dragons firing with everything they got. Will it be enough?

"Now Tuff!" Yelled hiccup. The twins created a wall of fire giving hiccup and the gang to destroy as many as shops as they can. Toothless fired knocking many dragons hunters unconscious.

"Bud take out the archers!"

Toothless fired with his best. Making every shot count. Men screaming. Half of the fleet was gone.

"Hiccup it's working!" Astrid yelled. Ryker on the deck was exploding with anger. He will not let these dragon riding pests win.

"FIRE BACK MEN! DON'T LET THESE IDIOTS TAKE US DOWN. GET OVER HERE AND FIGHT LIKE DRAGON HUNTERS!" Ryker yelled with every ounce of anger in his body. The hunters reloaded and gave everything they got towards the dragon riders.

"Hiccup theirs to many we need to fall back!" Heather reasoned.

"Hurry let's head back to the edge and regroup." Ordered Hiccup. The gang rushed back to the edge as fast as their dragons would allow. Ryker saw this.

"Oh no you don't!" Ryker grabbed his bow and nocked an arrow. He wasn't going to let one rider go. Not now not ever. With every determination he could mustered he shot right at the riders. The arrow flew through the air finding its victim. The arrow flew past Astrid and was heading straight towards hiccup and toothless.

"HICCUP LOOK OUT!" Astrid yelled as loud as she could. Hiccup looked and everything seemed to go slow. Astrid watched as the arrow burried itself deep within toothless. Toothless roared in pain. Toothless's body was effected by the dragon root and lost control. Hiccup was flung off the saddle as toothless started spinning uncontrollably. Hiccup and toothless's screams were the only thing that everyone heard. The dragon riders. The dragon hunters.

"Hiccup don't move your hurt." Astrid ran to Hiccup's side. Helping him a least try to get up. Fishlegs ran to hiccup seeing if their was any extreme damage. Fishlegs touched his arm making hiccup yelp.

"He broke his arm, and you got a deep gash on your leg. You want be able to fly, but other than that he's fine." Fishlegs stated. Everyone gave a sigh if relief. No body hardly ever survives that fall and only ends up with scratches and a broken arm. Hiccup didn't feel relieved. Toothless wasn't here. He always came no matter how injured he is. He was always their when hiccup needed him. Panic filled Hiccup's stomach. Hiccup ran slightly to get a look around.

"Toothless! Toothless!" Hiccup yelled. Everyone went silent seeing if they can hear the familiar roar. None came.

"TOOTHLESS! TOOTHLESS!" Hiccup yelled louder. Hiccup spun around furiously. Looking for his best friend. The gang grew worried by the second.

"Astrid can Stormfly track toothless?" Asked hiccup his voice saying only fear and concern. Astrid nodded, wasting no time she hopped on Stormfly. Hiccup ran to Astrid. Astrid held her hand out for hiccup to take. Hiccup grabbed her hand and was helped onto Stormfly despite the pain. Hiccup's didn't care about the pain he had to find toothless. Fast.

"Heather the rest of you follow us and keep and eye out for anything." Astrid ordered. The gang did exactly what they were told. Hiccup wanted to cry. He was really worried for toothless. Stormfly finding any scent of her best friend. The other dragons were worried about their leader, their friend.

"Guys look!" Heather pointed to a forest with trees broken and smashed. A large crater trailing with it. At the center of it all was a dragon, but not just any dragon, a night fury.

"Toothless!" Hiccup yelled. Hiccup almost threw up just looking at the destruction. Stormfly dove into the forest with the gang following. Stormfly landed and hiccup threw himself off wincing in pain, but that didn't matter what matter was toothless and toothless only.

"Toothless!" Hiccup yelled as he ran to toothless's side. Hiccup examined toothless and finding out that toothless's chest wasn't moving.

"GUYS HE'S NOT BREATHING! Hiccup fear went to a whole new level. "COME ON BUD! BREATH! DON'T LEAVE ME BUD I NEED YOU! Please bud." Hiccup said the last thing quietly. Tears flowing down. He can't be. My best friend can't be dead. I need him. He needs me. No! No! No!

"NO!" Hiccup dug he is head into toothless. The gang was shocked. Toothless never goes down. Watching hiccup crying hard. Losing his best friend is like losing everything about him. The gang went up to hiccup and all of them sat by hiccup paying their respects to their fallen friend. The dragons were heartbroken. Their friend, their leader... was gone. Forever.

Hiccup cried harder. His best friend. No his brother was gone. Toothless was the only one who understood hiccup completely. They were one. Hiccup didn't want that to be the end.

Astrid and the gang didn't know what to think. Everything was going fine and rough until Ryker shot the arrow. Now their friend is gone. Hiccup felt his heart being ripped apart over and over again. Astrid grabbed Hiccup's shoulder and embraced him. Hiccup wrapped his arms around her tight, crying. Astrid returned the gesture and hugged hiccup tight. Tears falling down. Everyone had tears in their eyes watching this heartbreaking moment.

"Hiccup it's time to go." Astrid whispered. Hiccup just nodded his head no.

"I-Im not going anywhere." Hiccup struggled to talk. His voice of grief and pain. Hiccup looked at toothless and crawled to his brother. Hiccup couldn't leave toothless not now not ever. Toothless needed him. Hiccup hugged toothless's neck tighter than ever.

"Astrid's right hiccup we need to go." Heather said slowly. Hiccup felt pain but he ignored it. He wasn't leaving toothless's side.

"No."

"Hiccup please! Toothless is... gone." Astrid said with grief. She hated seeing this. Hiccup didn't deserve this. Not one bit. Why does hiccup have to suffer? Why is he the one who always feels pain?

"I'm not l-leaving him!" Hiccup cried. He just wanted to stay with toothless. Fishlegs put a hand over Astrid's shoulder telling her leave him be. Astrid understood but hiccup needed his arm to be put back in place. His wounds could get infected.

"Hiccup I'm sorry but you need get your wounds cleaned and fixed-"

"No I'm not leaving toothless. My wounds are fine. I don't need anything. Toothless needs me!" Hiccup yelled. He couldn't take the pressure. He can't take the pain. He yelled. As loud as he could. The gang flinched.

"AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"

Hiccup fell silent. Hiccup knew Astrid was right but he didn't want it to be true. Hiccup slowly got up and layed his hand on toothless's nose.

"I'll miss you bud. Thank you for everything. Without you I don't know what I'll be. You are more than a friend to me. You are my brother and my teacher. Thank you." Hiccup give toothless one more hug and grabbed one of his scales on the ground and placed it in his pocket as a reminder of everything he did for hiccup. Astrid came up to hiccup and grabbed his hand.

They both looked at each other. Forest green eyes meeting ocean blue. Each holding the same pain and grief. The gang joined them. Each giving hiccup comfort. The gang had a group hug showing that they will always be their for hiccup. The gang walked to their sad dragons and made their way to back to the edge. Each remembering a moment that they had with toothless.
