I froze. Did they know? Did any of them have powers too? I asked myself.

I should probably explain the whole 'powers' thing. Well, after I had started living on my own, I realised that I had hydrokinesis, the power to manipulate liquids. I don't know how it happened but I assumed that it was because the remaining nuclear energy from the explosion that had spread worldwide had caused it.
But...
Should I tell them?

"Well? Do you?" Jayden asked impatiently.
"Don't be rude! Sorry, he's just jealous that he doesn't have powers too." Kitty interrupted him by whacking him on his head.
"Anyway. What he means is that after the apocalypse hit, some of us started getting powers..." Kitty then proceeded to light her hand on fire and fiery orange streaks appeared in her hair.
I tried not to scream and backed off.
Kitty's hand returned to normal.
"Yeah. Things like that. I have pyrokinesis and shape shifting powers, Iris can control and create sound waves, Ella has cryokinesis and charmspeak and Drea has aero and electrokinesis."
"And the rest?" I asked curiously.
Jayden obnoxiously cleared his throat at being called "the rest".

This time it was Iris who whacked his head. "They didn't get anything supernatural, but they do have special talents within human capabilities."
I barely managed to understand her words. I forgot that she had such a vast vocabulary. (I wasn't the brightest person...)

"So. Do you have any?"
"Um... I have hydrokinesis..." I replied quietly. (I have always been somewhat self-conscious)
