Hallowed 9
The sun was up and greeting with its morning rays when Taehyung went out of his room.
The fragrance coming from the kitchen welcomed him, followed by his brother's smiling face as he peeked from the kitchen counter.
"You're just in time. Let's eat." Jin said, urging Taehyung to take the seat.
The younger followed and took the seat opposite to his brother's.
"I packed you a lunch for today since I woke up earlier than usual." Jin uttered, placing the packed lunch on the table.
Taehyung stared at it for a long time before uttering a small 'thank you'.
He continued eating when a thought came to his mind.
"Could you make another one, hyung?" Taehyung asked which earned a surprised look on Jin's face.
"Is it for Jimin?" Jin asked with a smile.
Taehyung shakes his head in response.
"It's for Jungkook-hyung." He answered which surprised Jin once more but decided not to comment.
"Okay. I'll make one." Jin smiled.
"Thank you, hyung." Taehyung answered blankly.
He resumed eating while Jin busied himself with preparations.
"You must really like that hyung, huh?" Jin asked as he packed another set of food.
Taehyung just nodded his head in response. He finished the food on his plate before going back to his room to get ready.
It took him a little over 5 minutes before he's done and ready to go.
"Here." Jin handed him his packed lunch and the extra one.
"Call me when you arrive at the company, okay?" Jin reminded to which Taehyung simply answered an 'okay'.
In no time, Taehyung was out of the apartment and into the hallway where he passed by Jungkook's unit.
He stopped for a while, rang the bell a couple of times but nobody seemed home.
Taehyung tried for the last time before deciding to leave. Still no answer which only made him think that the older might have gone to work already.
With this in mind, he went on his way and just decided to pass by the café where the older works.
Taehyung arrived at the café earlier than expected. The 'Closed' sign was still posted by the door, yet one push and it immediately opened.
He went inside and saw a few staff cleaning and preparing for the opening.
"Sorry, Sir. We're not yet open." a male staff said upon seeing him.
"I'm here to look for Jungkook-hyung." Taehyung answered, eyes roaming around in search for the ravenette.
The staff seemed a bit adamant to respond when Jungkook suddenly came out of the staff room.
"Hey. Why are you here so early?" Jungkook asked as he looked at Taehyung who simply raised the lunchbox in his hands.
The ravenette looked a bit surprised as he gestured for Taehyung to wait for him outside which the younger immediately understood and followed.
It took a minute or so before Jungkook went out and face Taehyung who was silently leaning by the wall.
"Is that for me?" Jungkook asked as soon as his eyes met Taehyung's own.
"Yes." Taehyung responded before handing the packed lunch to Jungkook who took it.
"What for? Is there an occasion?" The older asked.
"Nothing." Taehyung answered as he looked at the cars passing by.
"My brother made that." He informed to which the ravenette nodded.
"Tell him I said thanks, then." Jungkook said, eyes trailing where Taehyung was looking.
There was a black car parked a bit far from them which Taehyung had noticed to be following him since the time he left home.
"Is there a problem?" Jungkook asked.
Taehyung just shrugged in response before looking at the ravenette's eyes.
"Nothing. I'll get going, hyung." He said instead.
Jungkook simply nodded before Taehyung turned his back and walked heading across the street when he remembered something.
"By the way, hyung..." Taehyung trailed off while Jungkook waited for his words.
He stared at the ravenette for a long while before shaking his head.
"Nothing. I'll see you around, hyung." Taehyung uttered, finally walking away without looking back.

"Should we call it a day?" Detective Hoseok suggested after a whole day of monitoring Taehyung's whereabouts.
It was already dark, and both of them hadn't gotten the chance to have a decent meal.
"You go ahead." Inspector Yoongi responded from the driver's seat as he fished out a pack of cigarette in his pocket.
They've been following Taehyung for the day should 'the killer' suddenly decide to show up.
The sketch of the killer was already in their possession, all based on Taehyung's memory of him.
They were keeping an eye on him, however, nothing significant happened which only frustrated the inspector.
Not to mention, he was stuck with this detective who volunteered to come with him even if he didn't like the idea.
"Alright. Don't wander for too long." Hoseok bid his goodbye before going out of the car, leaving Yoongi puffing his cigarette, eyes still focusing on the apartment building where Taehyung lives.
His hunch was telling him that keeping an eye on the latter will eventually lead him to the killer his father wasn't able to catching years ago.
He could feel he's closer to putting an end to the senseless killings all perpetrated by the murderer.
Yoongi will make sure he gets what he deserves.
This was his determined promise to himself as he maneuvered the car and hit the road going to his home.
It was past ten in the evening when Yoongi arrived at his apartment. He was welcomed by the usual silence of living alone, the kind of silence he's already used to.
He hung his coat on the rack before going straight to his room, all the while massaging his strained shoulders.
As he turned the door handle, he stopped for a moment, eyes immediately landing on his hand.
He gulped, feeling a sudden rush of adrenaline as he inhaled a sharp breath, trying to compose himself.
He could run back to the living for his gun on his coat, but that would take him longer than entering his room and getting the spare gun underneath his pillow.
As the clock ticked, Yoongi carefully opened the door to his room while discreetly sliding his left hand inside the pocket of his pants.
His trained eyes scanned the whole room, heart beating in his chest as he made his way toward his bed.
With quick movements, Yoongi slid his right hand underneath the pillow to get his gun, only to halt in horror when he felt nothing of the sort.
"Perhaps you're looking for this?"
Yoongi felt his blood drain from his face when he heard a voice next to him before feeling a cold metal pressed on his temple.
He didn't have time to move when he felt a needle piercing his arm and in no time, his vision began to blur, limbs losing strength as he slowly fell on the floor.
His breath was the only thing he could hear in tune with the erratic beating of his heart as his vision turned dark.
Before Yoongi lost his consciousness, he had a blurry vision of the killer who's wearing a mask.
"You shouldn't stick your nose where it doesn't belong."
Yoongi saw the gun pointing at him and after that, everything turned black with only the sound of the gunfire echoing in the room.
