"Mahi utho...... " A lady in her late 40s shouted snatching the comforter from a petite figure who showed no sign of being on Earth making the lady spank her.
("Mahi..get up")

"Aaah mama ... apni iklauti bachi ko marne ka irada hai kya" the girl finally blessed her mother by releasing a statement in her groggy voice.
("Aaah mama....do you have an intention to kill your only child")

Getting no response ..the girl opened her eyes only to see her mother searching for something. Sensing danger she got out of the bed in lightning speed and in seconds found herself inside the washroom.
"Ammi ka kehar" 😂

Mahira Ali was the only child of Haider Ali and Razia Ali.
They used to live in a joint family comprising his two elder brothers and their families.

Sarfaraz Ali was the eldest among the three brothers and he has three children with his wife Rukhsar Ali..

Riyaz Ali (30 year old) a dominating man who rarely uses words. His stern expressions are enough to convey the feelings he carries.He is handling the Finance department in the family business. He worked for 5 years in an MNC and then joined the family business on his father's insistence.

Zain Ali (24 year old) : He is a full on mischievious guy always ready to have fun sessions. He is doing internship in their company.

Maham Ali ( 25 year old) : She is a medical intern at the City Hospital  and is happily married to Zayed Shah who also used to be her senior in medical college.

Hamza Ali the second brother also has 3 children with wife Hania Ali

Rayyan Ali (27 year old) : He is working as a senior engineer in an MNC. He has the intentions of joining the family business after a year or so. He is a serious person but is very loving towards his family.

Mahnoor Ali (23 year old) a chirpy girl whose favourite hobby is to pull pranks on people with her crime partner Mahi. She has just completed her Masters and now wants to have some work experience.

Haya Ali (23 year old) a shy girl but the devils present in the house don't let her be shy for a long time. Mahnoor and Haya are fraternal twins. She aspires to be an Administrative Officer.....so has been preparing really hard.

Mahira Ali ( 22 year old) : As the family members say "the jaan of the house" . Being the youngest member of the house, she is highly pampered. She is extremely mischievous which brings her a lot of scoldings from her Mama dearest. She is persuing a Master's degree in Finance.

The whole house was on fire as people were moving all around decorating the hall.

"Vase ko yahan rakho" Hania ordered a worker.
("Keep the vase here")

"Aree Chachi...aap to itna nervous ho rahin hain jaise Zaroon bhai ki family aap ko dekhne aa rahi ho... " Mahira hugged her aunt who twisted her ear in return.
("Chachi you are getting nervous as if Zaroon bhai's family us coming to see you")

"Aaah...sorry sorry ..." Mahira yelped "Rayyan bhaijaan bachaye humein "

("Rayyan bhai ..please save me")

Rayyan who just walked in shook his head and slightly hit Mahira's head muttering "Pagal".

"Ammi...Noor tayyar hai ?" He asked his mother.
(" Ammi...is Noor ready?")

"Haan..wo ready hai......." his mother smiled.

A few minutes later the guests arrived. They were Hania's distant relatives. Their son Zaroon apparently had a liking towards Mahnoor...they used to meet in get togethers. Few days ago only Zaroon's mother talked to Hania about the alliance. Mahnoor was asked first..who in turn pushed the decision on her parents..... Hamza and Hania had known Zaroon as a mature and sensible man...so the alliance was accepted and now they were here .

Soon, a date was fixed for the engagement making the environment happy.

"Noor Aapi ... aapki to nazrein hi nahin hat rahin thi Zaroon bhai se..." Mahira teased

(Noor ..your eyes were not getting off Zaroon)

"Tera time aane de beta....." Mahnoor warned her taking out her heavy earrings.
("Let your time come....")

They were stopped by a knock on the door "Aa jaun mai"
(May I come in)

"Haan bhai..aa jaiyen"

Zain entered wearing a big smile "Mubarkaan Noor-e-jahan.....Zaroon bhai ko kaid karne k liye"
(Congrats Noor for caging Zaroon bhai)

"Aap to apni bataiye...bhaijaan..suna hai internship me man nahi lag raha aapka" Mahira said while snatching a book from Haya who was lost in her studies.
( You tell bhai...we have heard that you are not enjoying your internship)

"Hitler k sath kaun mauj karta hai?" Zain made a face

( Who stays happy with Hitler)

"Riyaz bhaijaan ko toh dekh kar hi mujhe khauf aata hai " Haya said shaking her head making Mahira laugh.
( I get scared seeing his face only)

"Zyada battissi na dikhao...agle saal tumhe bhi unhe jhelna hai..." Zain said hitting her with a newspaper.

"Riyaaz bhaijaan mere sath itna strict nahi ho sakte ..... wo mujhse bahut pyaar karte hain" Mahira beamed wiggling her eyebrows.
(Riyaz bhai can never get that strict with me...he loves me too much to do that)

"Haan..isme koi do raai nhi hai ki wo aapse bahut pyaar karte hain...but he is a thorough professional beta" Zain smirked and then tuned to Haya " Aap ko Riyaz bhai se khauf aata hai...mujhse to nahi "

"Thoda sharm karein" Haya hit Zain's arm

"Hone wale shauhar hain aapke...aapse kaisi sharam" he flirted
(I am your would be husband ..why will I shy away)

"Huye nahin hain" Haya said haughtily "hume koi aur bhi pasand aa sakta hai..u know"

"You r not my husband yet..and who know I start liking someone else"

" aap ye gustakhi karke toh dekhiye...Haya begum ...bas ilm rahe katla na ho jaye." Zain smiled tight

"Ahaan....."

"Maru...." a shout made all of them alert.

"Riyaaz bhai itni jaldi aa gye ...... mai to gaya.....Mahi bacha le.....unhone ek case di thi study karne ko...mai hall me chhod kar aa gya" Zain joined hands infront of Mahira

(Riyaz bhai came so early...I am dead today.....Mahi save me....he gave me some documents to study and I left them in the hall)

"Kya milega " Mahira bargained

"Meri taraf se Pizza treat"

Mahira licked her lips and looked towards Haya and Mahnoor asking with eyes " Itna chalega ki kuch aur"

Getting a thumbs up ...she rushed to the hall with a cup of coffee.

"Assalawalaikum bhaijaan" Mahira gave her brightest smile to Riyaaz handling him his coffee .

"Waalaikum Salam Maru" Riyaaz gave his rare smile and invited her to sit with him.

Mahira saw the documents Zain left on the side table and quickly rolled them up and hid with her dupatta.

"Aur classes kaise chal rahe hain tumhare?" Riyaaz asked taking a sip.
(How are your classes going on?" )

"Achi chal rahi hain ..." Mahira nervously replied

"Kya hua....?" Riyaaz raised his eyebrows seeing her nervous.

"Ku...kuch nahi ....bhaijaan maine iron on rakha hai..main jaati hun"
(Nothing..oh I forgot I have kept the iron on....)

"Haan documents ko bhi iron se theek kar lena...mur gaye honge" Riyaaz advised as if it was an everyday thing

Mahira's legs halted "Mai to gayi....."
but she didn't stop and ran away making Riyaaz shake his head.

Riyaaz was the only child in the house for five years as Hamza Ali used to stay abroad with his family..it was only when Haya and Mahnoor turned 10 they got back.

Since the time, Maham and Zain were born, Riyaaz started feeling a little left out as being little they used to take most of their mother's time. And due to this he grew a little more inclined to his Razia chachi who was a very loving woman and loved spending time with him.
When Razia was carrying Mahira, she often used to ask Riyaaz to talk to the baby.....which made him bond with the baby even before its birth.

When Mahira was born, Riyaaz was the happiest. She was a very cute baby and had every family member wrapped around her little finger and Riyaaz Ali was no exception. With time his adoration for her grew and so did his possessiveness.

It was not like Riyaaz didn't love his siblings or his other cousins...it's just that Mahira had a very special place in his heart.
