During the first chimera outbreak, something interesting had happened or better yet was discovered. During a mission, one of the teams had brought back an object for both the doctor and Gustav to look out. In hopes it would be a big enough sample, for the two to make a cure. What they did not know at the time that the object was an egg. Because of this, the egg had sat there incubating, though one night when doc was left alone to study it. He took note of how much brighter the bioluminecse was glowing and how it seem to be blinking like it was following a type of rhythm or beat.

Doc look closer into the object the team brought in, finding out there was another life form inside of it, this little life form was none other than moon. She was incubating away in the egg, but from what doc can tell from some tests.  That she knows he was there, she would respond to him talking to her, when she was in the egg or when he would move her from spot to another to keep her warm.

When the time came for her to hatch, doc was passed out at his desk, his notes sprawled out. While on the other side of the room moon egg, had dimmed before cracks had started to form.

This was the night moon came to the world, and the start of a new age for team rainbow. After moon had hatched, and doc found her and decided to take care of her.  Team rainbow had slowly started to find these little dragons, every mission. Either one would follow an operator back or, was brought back by an operator.  Of course the old six had scolded at them for doing this as it could put everyone at risk, but even than this didn't stop the ops from finding them and bringing them back.

Each baby chimera dragon were either babies, or were dragonets. They each had a special bond with each operator of team rainbow. Though the older they had gotten, they had started to become more independent but still relied on their operators for some help.   We see this when moon had grown up to be an adolescent, and had made the choice to return back the chimera hive, despite knowing doc wouldn't be okay with it. Though she had done it, to protect them. She did leave doc her blood sample as a way of saying thanks for giving her a great beginning life in the world.

Her blood was a key component for making the cure, as the ops found out that the dragons each have an ability and hers was healing. With this in mind, doc had created the cure with her blood. Which at the time has at least stopped the outbreak.

Though this was temporary, fast forward and now the outbreak is back, and spreading. It also seemed to he adapting faster than before, this could explain why new outbreak dragons are coming, but seem to act different than the older ones. The reason why is because of how each of them are born, when these guys were found they were already hatched. Though they seems like they were either thirsty or starving like they were being neglected of one thing when they were being taken care of by the outbreak.
