"Once, mankind accepted a simple truth, that they were not alone in this universe. Some worlds man believed to be home to their Gods. Others, they knew to fear. From a realm of cold and darkness came the Frost Giants, threatening to plunge the mortal world into a new ice age. But humanity would not face this threat alone."

A war broke out between the Frost Giants and Asgardians.

"Our armies drove the Frost Giants back into the heart of their own world. The cost was great. We lost our beloved Emperor, Absaar. But in the end, their king fell. And the source of their power was taken from them. With the last great war ended, we withdrew from the other worlds and returned home to the Realm Eternal, Asgard."

"Here we remained as a beacon of hope, shining out across the stars. And though we have fallen into man's myths and legends, it was Asgard and its warriors that brought peace to the universe."

Odin walks up to the The Casket of Ancient Winters, both of his children, sons Thor and Loki, standing beside him. Sibyl and Ebony reside beside the relic that once belonged to the Frost Giants. All three children just got done hearing the story of how Asgard defeated the Frost Giants, and how Ebony's father got killed during the battle.

"But the day will come when one of you will have to defend that peace," Odin steps forward and turns to his sons.

"Along side with you," Sibyl looks down at her daughter, who is close in age to the young princes.

Sibyl, who was once Queen of the tenth realm known as Calysto, home to Calystonians, met the Emperor way back when and they fell in love, uniting Calysto and Asgard, causing both realms to become strong allies. After a tragic event took place, their realm got destroyed causing there to be what is now known as the nine realms. Absaar then took her hand in marriage and the remaining Calystonians resided to Asgard. Together they had a beautiful daughter, Ebony, who was unfortunately born just a couple months after Absaar's heroic death. Being the daughter of Asgard's Emperor gave Ebony her birth-right to become the future Queen of Asgard, with whichever Prince becomes future King.

"Do the Frost Giants still live?" Young Loki asks Odin curiously.

"When I'm king," Young Thor jumps in, "I'll hunt the monsters down and slay them all!" He does a sword slicing motion with his arm, turning to Loki who seems unimpressed. "Just as you did father," Thor then looks up to Odin with a smile.

"A wise king never seeks out war," Odin tells them seriously, looking at each boy individually for a moment. "But he must always be ready for it." Odin starts walking out.

"Oh, Odin, let the boys have their fun. It's good to know how eager they are," Sibyl chimes in.

"I think I'll wait until I'm actually queen before I make such claims," Ebony declares. Sibyl pats her on the back proudly for being patient, before following Odin.

The two princes look at each smirking before turning to look at Ebony who is admiring the hammer, Odin's weapon, and the sword that's meant to be her weapon in the future. It was specially hand-crafted out of the remains of Calysto specifically for her to use once she's older.

"Come on!" Both boys run over to her, each grabbing an arm, breaking her thoughts of excitement. She giggles and the three of them take of running to catch back up with their parents.

"I'm ready father," Thor determines as he grabs Odin's hand.

"So am I," Loki rushes out, grabbing Odin's hand as well.

Sibyl wraps her arm around Ebony as they walk alongside them.

"Just as I said, eager," Sibyl lets out a chuckle.

"Only one of you can ascend to the throne alongside Ebony. But both of you were born to be kings with your queen," Odin reminds them that both of them can't hold the position.

Ebony has always been relieved she didn't have to be in a constant competition with someone for her position. Her mother always made it clear to her she was born to rule.

A lot of pressure has been put on Ebony since she was born: "Be a great Queen just like your mother" and "Lead Asgard just like your father". Then there was the most nerve-wracking one: Being forced to marry someone you did not choose. Although, unlike most girls , Ebony didn't really mind the idea of an arranged marriage. Rather it be because she's young, or it would be with one of the boys she's grown up with, or because it's been drilled into her mind it's what's best for Asgard and will be best wedding ever to be held in all nine realms, who knows?

"I'll be a great king to you Ebony," Thor turns to her, puffing out his chest. He's always been a little flirt to her, which all the adults found adorable.

"As will I," Loki follows, less confidently. Loki too has been in awe of Ebony, but felt his attempts at showing affection were overshadowed by Thor's charm, as he felt with most things when it came to Thor.

"May the best brother win," Ebony shrugs, smiling innocently.

She's always thought about which one it would be. Although she's probably closer to Thor because they do combat training together with Odin, while Loki trains in magic with Frigga, the boys mother (which Ebony sometimes joins in on when she can) she has always been slightly more drawn to Loki.... Perhaps due to Thor always being in the spotlight and she prefers the darkness that lies within shadow's.

Author's Note: Hello to anyone that reads this! This is my first MCU fanfic, and I'm so excited I completed the first chapter (yes this is the prologue, but you get it lol). I just wanted to make note that Ebony, Sibyl, and Absaar are all characters I made up along with their powers and titles. The realm Calysto is also made up by me as well. I just wanted to clarify so people didn't think I didn't know my MCU and Norse Mythology info.
