Fanfiction: My Hero Academia

Characters: The main character of this fanfiction is a girl named Harper Rye, and let me just say that I have never related to a character this much in a fanfiction. Harper's quirk allows her to read minds, however, she doesn't really see that as a good thing. Rather than being upbeat and optimistic about her quirk, Harper seems to hate it at times since she can't control it. She often ends up accidentally hearing things that she never wanted to hear and you can tell that her quirk has gotten her into some interesting situations. Above all else, Harper is just such an interesting and complex character. Because of her past and how tired she is on a constant basis she comes off as rude and brash, however, you can see that she does truly care for people when she goes against her character to save others.

Plot: The plot for this book is absolutely amazing. It keeps with the original storyline for quite a while but adds in little things here or there. Above all else, the way that Harper ends up in class 1-A makes a lot of sense. Her quirk isn't physical, so she wouldn't have been able to use it against robots in the physical exam. So, with a traitor in their midst, Nezu hunts down Harper, a girl with a mind reading quirk so she can catch the traitor. Along the way Harper becomes friendly with her classmates and gets especially close to one individual in particular. I won't spoil who her love interest is, but let's just say that they're total opposites.

Writing: The writing is almost flawless honestly. There's really nothing to complain about. I love Harper's witty remarks and Aizawa's inner thoughts. I love the stuff that Harper manages to accidentally find out. Other than a couple typos here and there it really is a good MHA fanfiction that is easy to binge read.

Notes: Personally, my favorite parts include the Sports Festival and when she begins her internship because it just makes sense. Trust me when I say you won't regret reading it if you haven't already.

Honestly, I recommend giving any of her books a read, they're all pretty good, granted I like some more than others. But Straw is talented, I can say that much.
