Chapter 22 - Hisashi Midoriya
Izuku carefully closed the door, squealing to himself. Kacchan was so adorable, oh my God! He took a deep breath. Alright Izuku, calm down, keep your cool... Kacchan hadn't said he liked him back yet, he was just thinking it over. And he probably only acted all cute like that because he's tired and he didn't have the energy to be anything but passive. He let out a long sigh, recomposing himself before walking back to the kitchen, seeing his mom struggling with the appetizers.
"Hold on, I'll help you" Izuku quickly said, taking over before Inko dropped it all on the floor.
"Thanks Izuku, but you really don't need to help! Where is Katsuki? Did you leave him all alone?" she asked.
"He's very tired so I left him to rest a little bit" Izuku explained, helping her nonetheless.
Hisashi picked up on that, smiling to himself. So Katsuki was all alone huh..? Interesting~ That little jerk still needed to pay for all the things he did to his son. All the bullying and explosions... All the tears Izuku cried and all the injuries he sustained... No, taking his quirk wasn't nearly enough. Hisashi was planning on getting revenge on that gremlin for hurting his family, his precious innocent son.
He'll drive Katsuki to the edge of suicide, just like he did to Izuku. It's only fair, don't you think? That the boy that drove his son to stand on the edge of a roof, debating whether or not his life was worth living, got the same treatment? So that's why, when the food was finally done, Hisashi volunteered to go get Katsuki.
The ash blonde boy wasn't in Izuku's room anymore though. No, he was standing in the bathroom, washing his hands after he used the toilet. Katsuki stared at himself in the mirror for a moment, dragging a finger across the dark circles underneath his eyes. His skin was also more pale than usual... Ugh, he looked like a zombie. Katsuki jumped up a little when the door suddenly opened.
"Fuck, uncle Hisashi you scared me" Katsuki breathed.
"Suffering from a bad conscience?" Hisashi asked, raising a brow as he slowly closed the door behind him. Katsuki frowned, turning around so he was looking at him directly instead of through the mirror.
"Is dinner ready?" Katsuki asked confused, not knowing why Hisashi would be here otherwise. But then again, Izuku told him he would get him, right? Perhaps he was just here to use the toilet? Yeah, that must be it. Although Katsuki wasn't so sure about that when the man started walking up to him. Had uncle Hisashi always been this creepy..?
Just when Katsuki wanted to ask him what he wanted, Hisashi slapped a hand over his mouth, turning Katsuki around as the older man held him still. Katsuki was struggling, trying to let out a sound, to free himself, but to no avail. Hisashi held him with his back against his chest, a hand over his mouth and an arm around his waist, capturing his arms as well.
"Silence" Hisashi hissed, using one of his many quirks to partially paralyse the boy. Katsuki didn't know what was happening but he was panicking. He could see his own face in the mirror, all freaked out and at the edge of tears. What was this?! Why was uncle Hisashi doing this to him?! He didn't understand! He was scared... Tears welled up in his eyes as his body fell limp in his uncle's arms and Hisashi chuckled in his ear.
"Well would you look at that... The great Bakugou Katsuki reduced to a scared little boy~" Hisashi whispered, his voice having a threatening dark edge to it.
"How does it feel to be quirkless? To be everything you've always so despised in my son?"
W-what? Was this about Deku? Katsuki was so confused. His body was trembling a little, fear evident in his eyes. What was this man planning to do with him..? Why couldn't he move?! Katsuki shut his eyes, tears escaping and rolling down his cheeks. His hands were twitching, reflexively trying to create an explosion.
He had a flashback to the assault at the mall during summer vacation. Oh how he wished he had that stupid taser on him right now! He didn't think he'd need the dumb thing when visiting a friend's house but look at that. Guess he was wrong huh?
"Are you suffering, Katsuki? Are you regretting all those awful things you said and did?" Hisashi asked, a wicked grin on his lips.
"You must've realised by now, haven't you? How much of a prick you've been... A jerk, an asshole, a villain"
Katsuki gasped as Hisashi tightened his grip all of the sudden, the hand that was covering his mouth slipping to his neck. It's not like Katsuki could move a muscle... He couldn't scream or shout for help... He was absolutely helpless... A shiver ran across his spine when Hisashi grabbed his neck from behind, pushing him forward a bit so he was forced to look at himself in the mirror.
This feeling... It was just like when he was taken by the League... He could still see Deku trying to reach out to him... When he told him to stay away... Hisashi gripped his neck tightly, seemingly enjoying the face Katsuki was making in the mirror.
"You know, I didn't explicitly ask Shigaraki to kidnap you, but I did give him the idea of taking a member or two from that pathetic hero course of yours" Hisashi mused, making Katsuki's eyes widen. No... No, no, no, no! There is no way uncle Hisashi is involved in the League of Villains! There is no way he's a villain, r-right? He just... He couldn't be...
"I see you're confused" Hisashi chuckled, turning Katsuki around and pressing him up against the sink, making Katsuki groan. Hisashi grabbed his chin with one hand, the other carefully wiping away a tear from his cheek. And for a second, nothing happened. That was up until he forced his hand over Katsuki's face, allowing his limp body to slump down as he pressed his hand over the teen's face.
Katsuki's breathing was picking up pace, rapidly growing more and more out of control as his heart started racing. Flashbacks washed over him and it felt as if he was tied to that chair all over again. Back in that dark and cold place... Back when he lost his quirk to a touch that was so painful he could barely even recall the exact feeling. No... This had to be some kind of sick joke! This couldn't be real! This wasn't happening! There was no way...
His breath hitched for a second, making him feel as if he would suffocate. His chest hurt, but it wasn't from the touch this time. Not directly at least... Katsuki wasn't able to accept the facts, even now, when they were all laid out in front of him.
"I see you're finally putting the pieces together" Hisashi chuckled, pulling back and watching Katsuki fall to the ground, crying and whimpering in fear as panic took over his body. He was almost certain he was having a panic attack at this point, but Hisashi didn't seem to care. Of course he didn't... Why would he? He is the one that put him in this state to begin with, wasn't he?
"You won't say a thing about this to anyone though, is that clear?" Hisashi asked, grabbing Katsuki's hair to pull his head up.
"If I find out you snitched, I'll personally see to it that every single thing you love and cherish is destroyed~ Besides, it's not like anyone will ever believe someone like you"
With that, he let go of Katsuki, making the boy fall onto his side, shaking and trembling as his breathing became shallow. Every inch of him felt like it was on fire. His eyes stinging with tears, his heart racing yet clenching up, his chest hurt so bad because of his irregular breathing pattern. He felt like he was gonna die... Maybe that's what he deserved? Maybe he could finally be free from this pain... He'll do everyone a favor, right? No one wanted him here anyway, he's just a burden, a waste of air and space...
He vaguely heard the door to the bathroom slam shut, making him flinch, his breath hitching. Katsuki felt light headed, clenching his shirt as his chest tightened up, his lungs struggling to expand, to let him breathe. He felt as if he'd pass out at any moment... The slam of the door didn't go unnoticed for the people in the living room though.
"What was that?" Mitsuki asked, surprised. Izuku wanted to go and look, only to bump into his father.
"Oh Izuku, I-I don't know what I did wrong! Katsuki, h-he just ran past me and slammed the door to the bathroom shut behind him when I wanted to get him for dinner a-and-"
"Did he look upset? Mad? What did you say to him?" Izuku asked. He knew he shouldn't have left him alone! He was in such a vulnerable state right now! If his dad had accidentally said something wrong that could trigger him, that could upset him... Knowing Kacchan he probably didn't want to cry in front of anyone or have people around to pity him. That meant he was probably crying in the bathroom...
"I-I don't know. I swear I didn't mean to- I mean I don't think I said anything-" Hisashi rambled. Inko rubbed his arm, giving him a comforting smile, telling him it was okay, that it wasn't his fault. If only they knew...
"I'll go check up on Kacchan, make sure he's alright" Izuku smiled, quickly making his way to the bathroom. The door was indeed closed, like his dad had said. Izuku sighed, knocking on the door, unsure whether he should just enter or not.
"K-Kacchan? It's me, c-can I come in?" he asked a little timidly. There was no reply. Izuku sighed, placing his head against the door, defeated. His eyes widened when he heard strange sounds though. Crying, maybe? No, this wasn't like Kacchan at all...
"I-I'm coming in now, okay?" he said, still using a questioning tone in case Kacchan would protest. But nothing. No reaction whatsoever. Alright, then you leave Izuku no choice. The green head slowly opened the door, his eyes widening when he saw the state of his childhood friend.
"Kacchan!"
He instantly fell down in front of him, instinctively placing his hands on him to make sure he was okay, only to see Kacchan's state get even worse, a muted scream leaving his lips, as if he wasn't able to use his voice at all. Izuku pulled back, tears welling up in his eyes. Kacchan was in pain and he was freaking out too much to figure out a way to help him.
"Katsuki!" Mitsuki screamed as she entered the bathroom. Masaru's eyes widened and he instantly pushed Izuku aside. He knew what this was, he'd seen it before. Yet it had never been this bad before...
"Katsuki, hey, it's okay, you're safe, it's okay" he started, forcefully taking him and holding him in his arms. Katsuki started thrashing around in his hold, but that didn't seem to phase him.
"Calm down, breathe. Just breathe. In...and out. In... Out... Can you do that for me? In... Out..."
Izuku watched as Masaru helped his son through his panic attack, keeping him close as Katsuki slowly started to come back. His body still felt numb and he had trouble breathing normally, but he was fully conscious again. It hurt, but it was manageable. It felt like waking up from a bad dream... Except it wasn't a dream. It was all real... Uncle Hisashi... He...
Katsuki clung onto his dad as if his life depended on it. Hisashi Midoriya is All For One. There were no doubts, those were the facts. Deku's father, the man that was working overseas for so long, the man that recently came back into his life... He was actually the supervillain responsible for All Might's retirement and his kidnapping. He came back because he was able to escape prison...
But why now..? Why come back now when he could've come back so long ago? How was it possible he looked like a regular man when the man All Might fought was a potato looking bastard? Did he have a quirk to change his appearance? Must be... It was then that Katsuki realised he was the one who took his quirk. Well, he figured that out already but now it really sunk in. Hisashi had his quirk... He had Explosion... That is, if he hadn't given it to anyone else in the meantime.
To think that his own uncle was the most evil mastermind all along... Oh God, the irony of having All For One's son inherit One For All! It was almost painful... Katsuki glanced up at Izuku over Masaru's shoulder, tears still blurring his vision. Deku was so pure and innocent... How could that broccoli boy be the son of that monster..? It just didn't make sense... Nothing about any of this made any sense!
"Hey, it's okay, you're okay, you're safe, we're all safe" Masaru whispered, rubbing his back. Katsuki nodded, allowing his dad to comfort him. For a moment he wondered if Hisahi knew Izuku inherited One For All and that was the reason he returned. It made his blood run cold. The thought of Deku being in danger...
"D-Deku..." he choked out, making the green head look up, quickly crawling up to him. He still had that dumb small smile on his face, as if he wanted to comfort Katsuki even if he himself looked upset as fuck. You're not fooling anyone with a face like that, idiot... The thought was nice though... It did kind of make him feel better.
"I'm here, I'm okay" Izuku said, making sure he was sitting in Katsuki's field of vision. Katsuki tried to move his hand, his body still feeling the aftereffects of that bastard's paralysing quirk. He slowly moved it up a bit, reaching out towards the green head. Izuku's eyes widened for a moment, surprised by the small invitation. He carefully took Katsuki's hand in his own, rubbing his thumb over the back of his hand.
"I am here and I am not going anywhere" Izuku said, speaking slower than normal, making it very clear to Kacchan. Katsuki felt tears well up in his eyes again as he let out a shaky breath, trying to focus on his breathing. What if Hisashi knew? What if he was planning on hurting Izuku..? No... No, he wouldn't hurt his own son...right? Wasn't it for Izuku that he hurt Katsuki just now? Wasn't it because he knew about the bullying somehow?
At least, that's what Katsuki's interpretation of it was. To put him in his place... To bully him for bullying his son... Was that really his goal? To get revenge for all the shit he pulled in the past? Don't get Katsuki wrong, he knew he deserved punishment for everything he has done in the past, but this was some next level crazy bullshit. Katsuki felt guilt eating away at him while those big bright green eyes looked at him with such pity and compassion. That fucking look...
Katsuki didn't want it, he didn't deserve it. How could someone like Izuku ever love someone like Katsuki? How was that possible? It shouldn't be...and yet...this fucking nerd... Katsuki closed his eyes, burrowing his face in his father's chest. He knew his mother was talking to auntie Inko and uncle Hisashi right now. He knew that bastard was feeding them with all sorts of lies.
He also knew he couldn't do anything about it. Katsuki had just obtained the identity of the most wanted criminal of this side of the globe and he wasn't able to tell a single soul. He knew Hisashi wasn't bluffing when he threatened him. He would do anything to ruin his life even further before eventually taking it away completely. It was taunting, staring him straight in the face like a sore thumb.
He'll need to come up with some kind excuse for this whole situation too... He'll have to lie to everyone, to the people who showed him they cared. Katsuki wasn't one to tell lies, even before all of this. That didn't mean he never lied before, he wasn't a saint after all, but he didn't like it. That and Katsuki had never lied about something as huge as this before. Something that was bigger than himself and his own little problems. So much bigger...
