Chapter Twenty-Eight

Chapter Start!

When they sat down for dinner, they all were a bit happier from the relaxing day.

As they went to bed, they had planned how to get to Norwich. They had planned to start next morning, early. Then spend the night in the snow, and get to the small town of Norwich, stay a night, then head into the Temple to go find the Gem of Water.

When they awoke the next morning, everyone got ready to go, picking up and getting dressed.

After they headed out into the cold and snow.

The group walked for hours.

When they walked, Cole came to the conclusions, that if no one had light magic, then he should ask everyone else about their elements.

So Cole went and talked to Gil, so he could get help with his light magic training. The fawn only gave him a thing to show, not tell, but he needed a teacher.

So they worked on it, Gil held the paper, as Cole practiced creating larger balls of light, a figure of a lantern, Shooting lasers of light, and spreading a circle of it around him, illuminating everything around him.

When they stopped for the night, Cole asked Rita about the fire, she explained to him that she doesn't let it control her, but she controls it, never let it get out of hand, only use what she needs.

They then worked some more on control of the light, making the balls more stable than just wild flares, helping him prefect it more. They passed out late that night, but he had gotten more control over "light globes" as he's named it.

When they awoke that next morning, Cole asked Silvia about the wind, she told him that it was free, so don't force it, if you force it, it won't do what you want.

The talk with Silvia wasn't that long, she told him that, gave him pointers, in only the "light canon" as she put it, then went back to talking to Gil.

Who scolded her for discouraging Cole.

Cole rolled his eyes at the girl, then went and asked Ralph how he used his earth. Ralph told him that "Earth is 3D, meaning there's more than one angle to see things in, so that means that there are more than one answers. Also looking at your surroundings and knowing where you are could help, as well as using your surroundings." Ralph said all this in a teachers voice.

He then helped his with the lantern, creating it to shine, but the build of it to make it more like a container, and less like another light source, Cole found he could put small snow balls into it, before they fell out!

It was like a floating, bright, storage lantern.

Cole thought to himself quietly as they worked; "If I work on this one, then I'll maybe be able to use it as a shield... For maybe a way to protect others..."

When this was all done, Cole tried to asked Jaylen and Hector about dark magic, the two weren't really good at it, so they couldn't be of much help.

So he would have to go without knowing of his elements opposite.

When they made it to the Norwich Inn it was late at night, so they got their usual two rooms, eight beds.

When the sun rose the next morning, the light came in, and the cold night air lifted. Everyone awoke ready to get the Water gem.

They needed to get going soon, but when they went to get breakfast, they found someone they knew, someone they didn't expect seeing.
