Chapter Fifty-Three

Chapter Start!

When the team awoke the next day, they were in sight of the Island. Because of the shallow water, they had to take a smaller boat to the Island.

They said goodbye to the crew of the S.S. Valor, and headed out.

Roland and two other crew members took the small boat out with them.

There were older and small ships docked at the old City of Fire Port. Gil and Rita told everyone that they could easily drive one of them, so Captain Roland, knowing they would be fine, left them, telling the team to send a letter when everything cleared up.

They agreed and went on their way.

As the team walked through the old burnt down city, they walked over fallen trees, burning carriages, as well as shadow looking beasts.

They only gave them a weird look, then went on with their business.

Some of them smiled an empty smile to Jaylen and Hector, but that was the most they did.

After the team made it out of the city, they walked for a long time, down a path.

Night seemed to come, but with no fire wood, the team sat on the ground, coldly.

When light came again, they got up after eating, and continued walking...

And walking...

And walking...

Another day...

When they came upon a mountain, they had to climb it, this hill seemed to glow as they went up.

Then a small blob of flames popped up out of nowhere.

Silvia's eyes shined instantly, it was a lava smile.

Silvia slowly started to make her way over, wanting to hug it.

The blob came closer to her.

She went to it

It went to her.

She crouched down.

It put its tiny arms up, wanting a hug.

"Nope" Gil sprayed the thing with water, it squealed, and melted back into the ground.

"No melting to death yet princess"

And they continued to walk...

Another two days went by, and they could see it in sight...

A tall dark shrine.

The perfect place to hide the elements.

The team decided to stay spend one last night out before going down into the shrine.

When the sun came up once more, they got their stuff packed up, and headed up to the darkness.

Cole studied the building...

"You shall not find what you thought" he spoke, confused, "This shall only bring ruin" he looked at Gil, he was having second thoughts about this...

But continued reading, "For what is hidden here is what you must protect and fear, and if you decide to hide more-" Cole cocked his head... the words where weird... scratched off....

"Y-- --l- -n- - fi-d r---"

The words where not there...

He shrugged, they all did.

Emmy cracked her fingers, shoving the "Shiny boy" as she put it, out of her way.

After opening it, the girl smiled, "in we go!" she tried to impress Cole.

"ha" he laughed, "alright" he rolled his eyes, creating a lantern from light, and started in.

When he stepped into the ruins, the lantern went out...

He stopped, everyone stopped.

"Something's..." he tried to form it again, after doing so, he stepped in... it went out.

"What!?" Ryan started to panic, creating a flame, he went in, it went out.

"Magic doesn't work in there" Rita spoke, shock on her face.

"What!?" Daisy cried.

"This is magic free..." Rita's eyes narrowed.

Ralph looked at Ryan, then Silvia, the only Royal heirs to the kingdoms.

"We should split up" his voice was shaky.

"If we split up, Ryan and Silvia could stay up here, if anything happens to them, the two kingdoms most likely will go to war. I can't let that happen..." he turned to Silvia.

"I am your knight"

Silvia looked at him... "Fine" she spoke, then looked at them.

"We will stay up here, if anything happens, we'll send Ralph down, but Ryan and I will not step a foot in there" she spoke, standing tall.

"Yeah, we'll make sure no one follows you guys, or traps you!" Ryan gave a reassuring smile.

Gil gave Silvia a horrified look. (Okay, everyone gave them horrified looks, but mostly Gil)

He walked over to her... "Will you be okay?" his voice was dry...

She looked at him weird.

They haven't split up for a long time.

Life or death has been happening to them too much.

Silvia gave him a look.

"I'll be fine" she gave a small smile.

Gil gave her a hug, "Be careful"

After saying goodbye, and questioning why the ten year old is going into the pit, and coming back with them yelling about they never using their powers so "Welcome to their world" kind of argument, the team; Cole, Gil, Rita, Emmy, Daisy, Jaylen and Hector all made their way down.

They ended up having to light some wood for light in the darkness.

When they got about half way down, green lanterns lined the walls...

They kept going...

And the six stood at the very bottom...

Looking in the eyes of the Queen of Clyden...

Queen Scarlet stood in the bottom room.

With hundreds of guards.

She smiled.

"I see you've come"

What that too sudden? Should I have built up to it more?

Idk, I've had this part planned out for more than a year, and I'm kind of scared to do it...........
