Why didn't Riaz tell Tasneem he loved her back when they kissed in front of the mirror?

I honestly have such a terrible problem with this question. Love doesn't have to be said for a person to know that you love them.

You can love someone and never say I love you. It's not just words. It's a feeling and for some people, they express it through actions.

He didn't say I love you because he grew up in a house devoid of marital love. He didn't understand the love between a man and a woman and it was difficult for him to translate it into words.

Life isn't like a story book. Not every one will say the words I love you but they'll show it and that, to me, is more important than any 3 words.
