Chapter 2-The welcoming
. I was near the castle when I saw a blob which began to grow as I rode closer.
When I came close and I saw a man. I guessed he'd be around about the same age as me. I could see the castle from where we were the person seemed of got very wounded. I got him on my horse and rode to the kingdom. I asked politely where I would find the court treasures, callidus. Now I had seemed to have forgotten about the man on my horse. I only remembered when I heard a groan. I found the court physician who told me where to find my father. When I went to his cottage I was told not to enter as none was in. I saw the same maid who was helping the man get better.
On my way Flora, the maid, told me it would be alright and my husband would get better. I was shattered at the thought of getting married. I and Roslyn have talked of the day we will have to leave the comfort of our parent's house and join society. I fell my stomach churn at the question of leaving my good old mother I have always said' I wouldn't marry even if it the last thing I do'. I was about to correct Flora when she told me to be quiet and I had to enter the room. The court physician; Vloeistof, Dutch, told me that that the person I had brought in was Prince Alfred. I was startled the king personally wanted to thank me with his court treasures. I asked politely if I could spend the night in his cottage. He instantly said yes," It would be an honour to have such a hero to stay at my humble cottage" he said eagerly.
The king ordered me to his magnificent castle. I was nervous it had been years since the king had last visited to our village. Lucky the king recognised me and welcomed me in open hands. He was happy as if I were his own blood. Then I saw father he was still struck with the fact I was here at last. He said I had grown beautiful through the years. I know I blushed because father squeezed me in a warm hug. Palmerio held a ball in my honour. It wasn't today because I was very tired. The ball was in a month time and I stayed in the palace I didn't dare go or met Al I was scared. I went ridding with father a lot and helped the king in many ways as possible.
It was the night of the ball flora and the other maid were busy getting me ready. Minerva came in my room and gave the maid a special dress to the maid that I wasn't allowed to see. When I got changed I had to close my eyes. I was last alone while the maids got ready for the ball. I still wore the ring Gwain gave me. In the ball I was dazzled by the dress it was turquoise blue and the sequins glimmered in the light. I was announced like I was a royalty. When people saw my dress whispers were heard.
I didn't know why, I expected my dad at the bottom the stairs as he is the only person I know well. I jolted when I saw a young man at the bottom holding a hand out. I wanted to stop but I knew I couldn't it wouldn't be right. If I stopped. I felt weird when we were dancing. In front if everyone I was dancing with a stranger who I had no clue about. The stranger asked me if I was Lady Roslyn. I answered my name and how I knew Roslyn. I asked him to tell something about himself. He told me that I knew him but I didn't notice him. I thought hard who he could be. By accident I said Al.
