6 - Who Has Yzerchuk, Dani and Ondrej?
Nikita Kucherov sits with a huge smile on his face on the bench next to Tyler Johnson. Evelyna is sitting on the goalie's stool to the side. Alex Galchenyuk, Jonathan Drouin, Vladislav Namestnikov, Victor Hedman and Steven Stamkos are skating around, warming up. The rest of the team is spread out everywhere.
Nikita shoots a glance back at the tunnel. "What Pally surprise for me?" He kicks his legs back and forth, holding back his excitement.
"I don't know. You should really go out there and practice though!" TJ says. "It'll help distract you until he gets back."
"Yeah, come on Kuch. And look, Uncle Joey is here too! He's gonna play some music, while you practice!" Evelyna remarks, getting to her feet. She walks over and grabs Nikita's hands, pulling him to his skates. "Come on Kuch."
Vladdy skates over to the bench and reaches in. "Come on Kuchy."
Nikita looks at Vladdy and shakes his head. "No call me Kuchy."
"Then get on the ice!" Vladdy laughs, moving toward the bench's entrance and stepping in, so that he can grab Nikita's arm.
Both Vladdy and Evelyna yank Nikita toward the bench's exit door and pull him onto the ice. The redhead slips, but manages to stay upright. Nikita keeps trying to look back down the tunnel but he is eventually dragged around the rink by Vladdy.
"Vladdy, no funny!" Nikita yells.
Evelyna re-enters the bench, glancing at TJ, who gets to his feet and wanders over toward her. "Man, you guys make it look so easy and effortless. I can barely stand up."
"It just takes patience and practice. But I am a little worried about Pally. It's been twenty minutes. It shouldn't take him more than ten. Go check and see if he's in the locker room or out in the lot, will ya?" TJ whispers. "The last thing we need is for Kuch to learn that Pally is...you know..."
Evelyna nods. "MIA? Missing in action? I understand. I'll see what he's up to!"
TJ smiles at her and takes to the ice, joining Nikita, Drouin, Galchenyuk and Vladdy, who all jokingly form a circle around Victor, who huffs in annoyance. Evelyna laughs and then turns and wanders down the tunnel, listening to the fading laughter.
She enters the locker room and finds it empty. Then she heads down the hall, toward the exit. She pushes open the door and peers out. "Ondrej! Pally, you out here?" She catches sight of Dylan Larkin, nervously pacing outside by the production truck. "Larkin?"
The redhead slips out, making sure they the door wouldn't lock her out and then she pads down to him. The rookie is grabbing at his hair, mumbling to himself. She taps him on the shoulder, when he has his back turned to her. He jumps in shock and spins around, his eyes wild with shock and fear.
"Hey, hey, it's okay. Settle down." She notices a scar on his forehead in the corner of his eye.
"You-you're that girl who was in the locker room earlier?"
"Yeah. Look, I'm--did Pavel do that to you?" she asks, pointing out the scar.
Larkin sniffles and looks away. "I don't wanna talk about it. I deserved it...I don't fit on this team at all."
"Trust me, you're not the only one. There's a man in there named Alex Galchenyuk. He used to a Hab, but he never fit in with that team. I'm sure you'll find a new team. Tell me, Dylan, which team would you like to be apart of?"
Dylan looks around and then whispers, "Honestly, Tampa or Dallas. I hate in Detroit. They treat me like I'm nothing."
"How'd you like to help Tampa out?"
"I wish I could, but Pavel..."
"Forget about Pavel, you just gotta find your inner confidence. You should stand up to Pavel. Speak your mind. I've seen great things from you, Dylan Larkin, I know you have it in you to change Detroit and be a leader. Don't be afraid to be brave and stand up for yourself. Also, have you by chance seen Ondrev Palat?"
"No. But I have a good idea of where he could be...and who has him!" Larkin stammers, still looking around nervously.
"Awesome, do you wanna come with me?" Evelyna asks.
Larkin bites his lip and then opens his mouth to respond, but instead a booming voice shouts out, "LARKIN! GET YOUR PATHETIC ASS OVER HERE!"
Evelyna whips around and spots Abdelkader, Kronwall and Pavel walking forward. Larkin ducks behind her. The redhead stands her ground and clenches a fist at her side. "Leave him alone! You've already hurt him enough!"
Pavel rolls his eyes. "Get out of the way."
"Hey wait, that's Vladdy's girlfriend!" Kronwall snarls. "I heard him say so!"
Evelyna blushes but continues to hold her ground. I'm not...hey, whatever.
"What if we use her to lure Vladdy out?" Abdelkader snarls.
"How about, no? Because I really don't like Red Wings. Yeah...you all should probably get out of here before I go off on your asses!" Evelyna remarks. Pavel shoves her to the side and grabs Larkin's arm roughly, before backhanding him across the face and bloodying his nose. Evelyna gasps in horror and eyes Kronwall. "Why do you harm him? He's your ONLY best player?"
Pavel snorts. "He's a child! Surely you Bolts know with having those children. And soon, we're gonna expose this stupid team for who they really are!"
"So what?" the redhead spits back, noticing Ondrej's keys on the ground.
"So, he's got to be taught a lesson!"
"Where's Pally, Pavel?" Evelyna growls, narrowing her eyes. "I know it's you! And don't you even dare lay a finger on your rookie, he didn't tell me anything. I'm taking a good guess that it's you. Where's Pally, Pavel?"
"Even if I did do something with the Czech player, I wouldn't tell you! Kronwall, take Larkin here inside...it's almost game time!"
Evelyna remains standing in her spot, glaring at the Detroit Red Wing captain. "I know it's you, Pavel! I'll let the others know and we'll find Pally and save him and stop you! You can't expect to cheat and win! I'm sure you have Yzerchuk too! Also, you've most likely just made a little Russian baby very upset. I'm not so sure he'll be crying per-se!"
"We'll see about that!" Pavel sneers as he shoves Larkin toward Kronwall, who grabs the young man and drags him into the arena. "Abby, bring her inside and let's get chatting with those damn Lightning Bolts!"
"Don't you touch me!" Evelyna snaps at Abdelkader and shoves him away.
Abdelkader charges forward and pins her against the back of one of the cars. "It's best just to come and not fight! It makes things worse!"
"Abdelkader, back off!" a familiar voice snaps.
Abdelkader swings his giant (ugly ass) head around, grumbling to himself. Evelyna kicks the distracted Red Wing goon in the shin and slips free from him, bolting for it and almost colliding with Vladdy, who'd come out. He is standing at the top of the ramp, his blue eyes full of fire and a fierceness. The blond wraps an arm around her, protectively.
"Pavel, we have a game to play. Terrorizing fans, isn't gonna get you a win!" Vladdy snarls. "Leave her and my team alone. We are NOT in a position to be played around with right now. Also, keep your goon in line!" He nods at Abdelkader, who scowls at him.
"Don't tell me what to do!" Abdelkader lashes out.
Pavel just shakes his head and struts up to where Vladdy is standing. "Vladislav, I'll tell you the same thing I told Stammer; we've barely begun with your precious team. Truthfully, we're out to get you and turns out, you're quite alone out here!"
"No he's not!" Victor Hedman snarls from the doorway to the player entrance. "He's too dangerprone to be allowed to go ANYWHERE alone. And why would we be stupid enough to let him roam about with filthy Red Wings around. Save it for the ice, Pavel."
"Very well." Pavel glowers at Vladdy, who tenses up and clutches onto the redhead tighter as he passes by. "As you wish, Hedman." He pats the defenseman on the shoulder and signals to Abdelkader to follow him.
The two then vanish into Amalie and Vladdy relaxes and lets the badly blushing Evelyna go. "Please, don't read too much into that. I'm not going to be your hero, I'm just simply stopping Pavel and Abdelkader from being giant jerkfaces!"
"I know. I prefer Teddy Bear, victim Vladdy for my fantasies anyway."
"Great! I mean, wait!" Vladdy exclaims before he frowns at her.
Evelyna giggles. "What can I say, nothing turns on more than a struggling tied up Vladislav Namestnikov! Now, you have a game to play and we need to figure out where Pally, Dani and Yzerchuk are! And I think I know! So does Larkin!" She shoves Vladdy toward the door and they walk inside with Victor keeping an eye open.
Meanwhile,
Back in the garage of the Marriott, Ondrej grunts as he tries to desperately get free. He tries to look back at Dani and talk to her, but the tape prevents him from doing so. He instead snaps his head to look at Yzerchuk, enclosed in the glass dome.
"Pally, are you okay?" Dani asks.
Ondrej muffles a response to her.
"Sorry, I forgot about the tape...I wish I could help you out. I'm sorry, I tried to stop Abdelkader, but he had chloroform! There was nothing I could do. Joey's probably worried sick about me," Dani whispers.
Suddenly the TV screen that Ondrej is facing flashes on, with the broadcast of the Lightning game. The Czech player gasps and thrusts against the ropes, screaming with frustration into the tape.
On the TV the puck is dropped and the game begins.
"Oh my God...Pally..." Dani trails off. "I'm so sorry..."
Ondrej begins to tear up and he eventually hangs his head in defeat. He will be forced to watch his team play the Red Wings, unable to help them out.
