Chapter 3
It was past midnight and Iolande still couldn't sleep. She tried and tried, but to no avail. Her head was still revolving around Ahsoka and if she would ever find her. She thought of the senators in the cabinet, how none of them, except for Leia had allowed her to search a fellow hero and rebel.
She sat up in her bed and stared at the wall in front of her, not looking at anything in particular, she just stared as if she was in the limbo. Finally she could stand it no longer. She got out of her bed, grabbed her backpack and packed two bottles of water and a few sandwiches she prepared, along with Kanan's lightsaber.
She knew that what she doing was forbidden and was practically going towards her own death just like Rogue One, but she didn't care, nowadays people had to go against the law and become vigilantes so that justice could actually be accomplished, so her going against her superiors was nothing.
She went out of her room and started to walk on her toes rapidly through the hallways. She was in a hurry to get to a small shuttle she owned that was parked on the outsides of the base, but she knew she couldn't afford to wake everyone up and spoil her own plan.
As she walked through the halls, a voice came from her right. "Taking a nocturnal walk?" She turned to her right and saw Luke sitting on the dining hall. "Sort of, I'm just going to explore the forest, maybe there's something we don't know about it." She attempted to keep going but he interrupted her again. "Is that your excuse? You're a really bad liar you know."
Iolande frowned, why did she always come up with such nonsense? "Ok, you got me. I just had this doubt and I wanted to go on mission to clear it out, but you know the senators, they wouldn't let me." Luke nodded. "You want to look for Ahsoka Tano?" he asked.
"Sometimes I wish you weren't force-sensitive, you're always reading everyone's minds." She replied annoyed, Luke scoffed and drew a little smile on his face. "I suppose you're gonna tell the high command about my plan." To her surprise, he shook his head. "Go ahead, you're not the only one who has broken a rule recently." Her brain was still trying to process what he just said. "Well thanks, Luke." "No problem, just promise me one thing."
"What's that?" she asked. "That you will call me if you need any assistance." Iolande nodded. "I will." "May the force be with you."

This were the last words she heard before she went out of the temple and into the forest, in which she walked for a few minutes before she arrived at a clearing where an x-wing stood. She went towards it and activated it. Fortunately it was night, so she wouldn't have to worry about the air traffic control.
She took off from Yavin 4 and as soon as she set the coordinates correctly, the x-wing entered hyperspace, bound for Malachor. In less than an hour, her journey concluded and she arrived to the ancient planet.
She flew lower and was able to divise a great hole in the surface, the ruins of the exploded temple. Upon landing, she saw an entrance formed by the surface and the remains of the temple. She grabbed the lightsaber from her backpack, ignited it and went inside...
