Doesn't Really Matter
"Am I able to go home today? I want to see my fiancé. I miss her." I looked at Tom as he walked about the room, gathering things.
"Not yet,"
"Not yet?? 6 months, 13 days, 12 hours, 44 minutes, and 9...10...11...12 seconds I have been without her. I won't stay another day. I can't."
"You have to, just one more day Michael. This isn't over, my job isn't done here and I can't let you go back until then."
"Have you forgot that she's pregnant and I have 10 and 12 month old daughters waiting on me!! I missed out once again. How come I can't spend one pregnancy with her and by her side, catering to her every need, mood swing, or cravings? Every time she gets pregnant something stupid has to pop up and ruin things for either her or me or the both of us." I stood and walked up to him. "I can't take this anymore, Thomas. I need her to be by my side. I don't care what the circumstances are. I need to know where she is and how she is doing. I need to know if she's okay."
"And I get that Michael, here I'll compromise with you."
"What."
"You give me three more hours and in return I give you Sofia. I let you go stay with her."
"Fine, but if you don't stick up to that "compromise", I'll seriously hurt you."
**
"Sofia when are you due?" Bella asked, dipping her tortilla chip into the spicy Mexican dip.
I sighed and rubbed my stomach . . . more like caressing it.
"A month and 12 days."
"Well, what are you having!" Cassidy asked excitedly next.
"Don't know."
"What do you mean "you don't know"?" Avery asked with a frown.
"I wanted it to be a surprise, you know. I had Serenity when I was 25 years old. Michael had just had a baby two months before. He was and still is 29 years old back at the time that all happened. It didn't feel special to me and by being surprised, I think it will this time."
"Wait, so there's a four year gap between you and Michael?" Cassidy asked.
"Yeah, he was born August 29, 1958, and I was born January 30, 1962."
"Does that bother you? I mean the age difference. Does it bother you at all?" Avery asked
"Why should it?"
"I don't know, I just always thought you'd go for someone your own age or a year older than you. Not four years older than you."
"Avery, age isn't anything but a number. Michael's age doesn't really matter to me. His heart, his personality, just him period is all that matters. You can't help for the ones you fall in love with. It happens. It's apart of life."
"That's true." She said looking at me. I smiled and continued to rub my stomach.
"So, have you heard from him at all? Has he called?" Bella asked seriously, breaking the happy mood.
"No, and even if he did, it wouldn't matter. I've been pregnant for 8 months now, and once again he misses out on it. Maybe this is a sign, yeah it has to be. Maybe I'm not suppose to have his kids--"
"What!" They all screamed, making me jump out of my haze.
"What is up with you girl?" Bella spoke looking at me crazily. "You and Michael were meant to be. You and him were suppose to have these kids. Things just happen. Think about it, the last two times you were pregnant was Michael there?"
"No,"
"Where was he?"
"He was on his BAD25 World Tour."
"And this time?"
"I don't know. I don't know where he is. I wish I did know. I mean I've been without him before for over a year and all, but it's different when I know he's not on tour. This is just too much stress for me right now."
"I wish I could lead you to him, but I don't know where he is." She placed her arm around my shoulder and looked at me.
"You'll be okay. Don't stress yourself."
"Okay."
**
"Why don't you just tell me why you are doing this?" I asked as I stood up from the chair and walked over to him at the computer. He quickly closed out of what he was doing and I frowned.
"What do you mean, Michael? I told you already."
"Yeah, I know. But I want to know the real reason."
"That is the real reason."
"Yeah?"
"Yes."
"Okay then. Turn the computer screen back on and let me see what you are working on."
"I wish I could, but I can't I'm sorry."
"There's no such thing as can't. C'mon turn it on." He sighed
"You're not going to leave this alone unless I show you, right?"
"Yah damn skippy rugrat, especially when it involves my fiancé and kids."
He turned the computer screen back on after rolling his eyes, and I began to read.
"SOFIA AALIYAH ANDERSON
And
MICHAEL JOSEPH JACKSON
Together With Their Families Requested The Honor Of Your Presence At The Celebration Of Their Marriage
Saturday, The Twenty - Seventh Of August Nineteen Eighty Eight
Five O'Clock In The Evening
5225 Figueroa Mountain Road, Los Olivos, California, 93441
Neverland Ranch Valley"
"You're planning my wedding!?"
"Why couldn't I take Sofia instead of you, she wouldn't have caught me."
"You can't plan my wedding without me. This is what you took me for? From my fiancé! My kids!"
"Listen Michael--"
"Give me the tape recorder. Hurry up!"
He searched his desk for a tape recorder and when he found it, he put batteries in it and handed it to me.
I turned it on and sat down on the chair. I began to make sounds.
"(Hey, this is the tempo, and this is the melody) I was alone in the dark when I met ya'. (DRUMS!)" I made the beat of the drums with my mouth and continued. I could hear the piano and I continued to beatbox
"Like that, you know?"
"Keep going." Thomas spoke as he sat back in amazement listening to me.
"I was alone in the dark when I met ya' (uuuuuh uuuuh) You Took my hand and you told me you loved me (uuuuuh uuuuh) I was alone, there was no love in my life"
"After I say 'I was alone', chorus will repeat. (I was alone, There was no love in my life)"
"I was afraid of love Then you came in time (I was afraid of love then you came in time) you took my hand and we kissed in the moonlight. (You took my hand and we kissed in the moonlight.) oooooooooo. . I like the way how you're holdin' me. (Chorus: it doesn't matter how you holdin' me) I Like The Way How You're Luvin' Me. (It doesn't matter how you're luvin' me) I Like The Way How You're Touchin' Me. (It doesn't matter how you're touchin' me) I Like The Way How You're Kissin' Me. (It doesn't matter how you're kissin' me)"
I paused the recorder and Tom Looked at me.
"I'm thinking it can be better,"
"Michael, finish it. That's a good song."
"I need my inspiration. I need Serenity."
"Done, I'll go get her."
And with that he left.
**
"I have an idea." Cassidy spoke as she stood from the couch.
"What is it?" I looked at her, propping my swollen feet onto the table in front of me.
I really need a massage
"Let's measure you."
"Me?" I questioned.
"Yeah, that's a great idea." The rest of the girls said. Bella helped me up from the couch and Cassidy went and grabbed some measuring tape.
"Where'd you get that?" I asked as she got on her knees in front of me and began to wrap the tape around me.
"A friend."
"Hold still girl."
"I'm trying Bella. My feet hurt." Avery laughed and wrote the numbers on a piece of paper.
"Avery put 30-34 centimeter from the pubic bone to the top of the uterus."
"Okay."
"Do you have the measurements from around her stomach?"
"Yeah"
"Actually, for the pubic bone to the top of her uterus, put 33 centimeters."
"Okay."
"And for around the belly at belly button put 53.5 inches."
"Wow Fia, you're a hunky.😂"
"Oh shut up you skinny twig."
"Avery, the girl is pregnant with a heart monitor of raging hormones. Chill out."
"There wouldn't be any fun in that Bella now would it?"
"Well--"
"Oh you guys quit it! Can someone go get Serenity. I don't want her to be up all night, and I don't want to be up with her either."
"I'll get her." Bella said releasing my hands. I watched her leave.
"So you guys, Bella and some guy had a plan to--"
"Avery, why don't you come in the kitchen with me."
"Hold it right there rugrats, what were you saying Avery?" They turned around slowly and Cassidy elbowed her in the ribs.
"Oh, I was saying-- I was saying that ahem. . . I was saying that Bella was planning a girls day soon. Yeah, that's what I said."
"No it wasn't--" Bella screamed and ran out from the back.
"She's gone!!"
"What?" I said inaudible before passing out.
**
When I woke back up, I saw Michael. I saw Michael and at first, I couldn't believe me eyes. His beautiful smile glowed with the sun as it beamed through the curtains of . . . Our bedroom?
"How are you baby?"
"Michael?" It was almost surreal to me. It seems as if he's gotten even more sexier, more muscular, more . . . stressful?
"It's me baby, how are you?"
"Michael," I stopped when I felt a kick in my stomach and that soon reminded me of Serenity, I started to cry.
"Babygirl, speak to me. Don't cry..."
"Serenity's gone again, Michael. Someone stole our daughter again."
"No one stole her, I took her. I needed her. I missed her."
"Oh Michael," I hugged him and he squeezed me tight.
**
"Lisa, I think we should just go our separate ways, Sofia and I are engaged and we just need to be together. We have two kids together and Emily is fine here with us. She can have a family with us."
I stopped in my tracks when I saw Michael's back facing me.
Wanting to know what's going on, I quietly and quickly walked to the other room, closing and locking the door behind me. I picked up the receiver and coerced the mouth part.
"Michael, please. Let me have my daughter. She can have a family with me. Justin is here and it'll be great, Michael please."
"Lisa no, you signed a contract leaving me full custody of her. You can't sue me or anything because I have your signature--."
I inhaled shocked then I frozen.
"Hold on a second Lisa."
I quickly hung up the phone.
Trying so desperately hard to remember the night Michael made me sign something. He told me it was just for a document stating that I live with him.
The door wiggled and I forces my stare to look at the doorknob.
"Sofia? Sofia open the door."
"Michael, no."
"Open it right now."
I walked to the door and opened it.
He stared at me, closing the--slamming the door behind him. His stare igniting with anger by the minute.
I'm such a clutch, why do I always have to be nosy.
"Exactly why are you listening in on my phone conversation?"
I said nothing.
"Speak." And just like that I did, and when I did, I ended up on the floor.
