Slivers of Feelings

Hoseok hated being a third wheel.

Sitting with Yoongi and Jennie at a table in the diner on a Friday evening was not his ideal. But he suppressed his emotions once again.

Perfect record, perfect "everything". Don't fool yourself Hoseok, you may not have a secret, but that won't be for long.

Hoseok continued to smile, noticing Yoongi's awkwardness, patting his shoulder lightly.

"Hey, why you nervous? It's not even a date."

"I know. I don't know why I'm so nervous...she makes me nervous."

"Where is she anyways?"

"Jen said she'll be here in...two minutes." He affirmed, before looking at Hoseok.

"So how have you been taking things lately?"

"If you count sleepless nights as 'alright', then I'm absolutely alright."

"Guess I'm not the only one then." Yoongi whispered, probably only for himself to hear, but Hoseok had good hearing.

"Well, it's a good thing I have homework to do, otherwise staying up all night would be a waste. Other than working out." He let a weak chuckle, Yoongi mustered a pathetic smile in return.

"I just can't believe someone died." Hoseok mumbled.

"And I don't think the dying is going to stop."

"What?"

"Did I say that out loud?"

"Oh! Did I interrupt something?" Jennie hastily remarked, resting her elbow against the wall of the booth, flashing Yoongi a charismatic smile before looking at Hoseok.

Hobi nodded at her in recognition before turning to his phone.

"Oh, hey Jennie." Yoongi mumbled, looking away from Hoseok.

"Is Hoseok going to be here?" She chirped, pursing her lips as she took a seat.

Hoseok didn't like that shallow bitch, but she was better than others. Which is why he didn't try to make his relationship with her worse.

"Um yeah..." Yoongi scrunched his eyebrows in confusion. "I thought I made that clear. That this isn't a date."

"O-Oh yeah, of course. I was just curious y'know?" She flashed Hoseok a smile that didn't meet her eyes, before looking at her phone.

Hoseok, scooting further away from Yoongi, rested his head on the wall nearest to him, trying to drown out the two's soft conversation.

Nothing strayed from the topic of the dead math teacher and the mysterious messages. That's all that revolved in their brains anyways.

Hoseok hated this sickening whirlpool which had already drawn him in. He hated a lot of things to be honest, he just concealed it.

A clever text message confirming his own thoughts caused Hoseok to smirk. Even though it was for the most unlikely of reasons.

Conceal who you really are Hoseok. That's all you're good at anyway, right?

"So how was that date with Yoongi?" Chaeyoung piped, curly brown hair bouncing off her shoulders as she sunk into the comfy leather seat of Jennie's car.

"Not a date," She mumbled half heartedly, while adjusting the radio station. "Hoseok was there."

"Honestly, they look really good together?"

"Wait what? Who?"

"Yoongi and Hoseok."

"You're suggesting that Yoongi is gay?"

"Chill out woman, I was just saying they look good together..." She smirked. "Besides, why would you care if he's not straight?"

"I don't." Was Jennie's sharp reply. "Just...kind of hard to believe."

"Well, he hasn't had much of a relationship ever. You know that too."

"Yeah..."

Chaeyoung, oblivious to Jennie's strange behavior began to hum along with the song playing in Jennie's car.

"So, have you talked to Jimin?"

And the tables were turned.

"Why the hell would I do that?" She responded dully, resting her chin in her elbows, no longer humming.

"Maybe end things on good terms?"

"Why would I do that?"

"Do you want to hate him forever?"

"Yeah! Maybe?" She bit her lip. "Even after what I did, what he did, I still like him Jennie. If he walked up to me right now and asked me to be his girlfriend again, I would say yes. Do you get that? Even after what we did to each other, even though our relationship is so toxic, I can't decide what's good for me."

"You're exaggerating things. It was only one fight."

"One fight? Jennie, you weren't there for the rest of them." She sighed. "Jimin and I fought a lot when we were together. I don't understand now how I still stayed with him, I guess I was just whipped. I still am. But this fight everyone saw wasn't the worst one of them."

"You're being serious?"

"Why the hell would I lie?" Chaeyoung hissed, shooting Jennie a glare. Jennie got the memo from that, awkwardly shutting up and turned her eyes back to the road.

"And it's going to be so awkward because I'm going to Momo's party and so is he, and Momo likes him...knowing that bitch Tzuyu, she's probably got something in store for the party, why else would she invite us too?"

"Shit. You're right, damnit why didn't I think that when she passed the invitations?" Jennie inhaled a sharp breath. "I should've said no."

"Well, it's too late for that now. I know Momo's probably going to try and win Jimin over, and it'll probably work..."

"Not unless you do it first."

"He hates me Jen."

"Nah, I don't think so."

"You don't know him that well."

"I don't need to. Do you see how awkward he gets whenever you walk past his lunch table?"

"No...so what?"

"That means," Jennie smiled. "That he isn't mad at you. He has no reason to anyway, both of you have did-done betrayed each other so the most grown up thing to do is to apologize."

Jennie snapped her fingers. "And you'll do at the party. And seal it with a kiss, in front of everyone."

"Jennie no!"

"Chaeyoung, yes. It's the perfect plan. One stab in the gut to Momo and Tzuyu and one win for us. And you get your precious boyfriend back."

"I don't think it'll be that—"

"Hush. Don't over complicate this." Jennie chided. "Now, are you up for some milkshakes?"
