I had to take a break from the chibi challenge before my art style evolved into being unable to draw normal proportions (which is my main concern with my challenge). So I went and found my sketchbook from middle school art history class, cringed at the doodles, and went about re-creating this picture:

I have to say, after so much digital drawing, it feels refreshing to pick up paper and pencil again. That said, I'm not used to traditional drawing. With digital drawing, you don't run the risk of ruining your drawing with your constantly sweaty hands. The page that the doodle is on is curling up from putting my sweaty hand on it so much...

But can I just say, I love how this turned out. I was so happy with the pencil sketch that I was too scared to color it in. My friends convinced me to color it in as you can tell, and I think it was the right decision. It was a good thing I just happened to have most of colors I needed (except for a peach/skin colored pencil, so I had to improvise).
