Chapter 3
Hello Lovelies! Here is another chapter to hopefully sate you until this sunday since I haven't updated in 2 weeks.
Queen
I woke with a startled breathe. Sitting up I looked around. It looked to be around noon as everyone was walking inside from morning training, as evident from the bruised knuckles and bloodied limbs. One of the sickest parts of Hydra, they make us spar against each other. The one who is the most wounded is taken to the med bay and the 'doctors' heal them and try to make them stronger.
"Queenie!" A small child's voice called out. I watched sadly as Nina limped over to me with tears in her eyes.
"Hello Nina. Are you all right?" I asked worriedly.
"They paired me against one of the bigger kids. I barely beat him," She sniffled.
"Good girl. Now hold still," I said as I picked Nina up and went to my small practice area they allowed me to grow. I channeled some energy into the ground. A small bush-resembling plant sprouted, it's leaves curving out and having small spikes; I gently set Nina on my work bench before going back to the plant. Carefully I snapped one of the smaller leaves off of the center and brought it next to Nina who had passed out from exhaustion. Using a small dagger from my work space I carved a small opening into the leaf and squeezed out the inards into a bowl with some other herbs I'd previously grown.
Next was the part I hated most. As gently as possible I pricked my finger and allowed a small amount of blood to drip into my mixture before the wound healed itself. Then I grabbed my pestle and gently combined the salve.
I looked next to me at the sleeping girl. "Blackthorn!" I whisper yelled to said girl from across the room. She quickly excused herself from her previous conversation before making her way towards us. "I need you to hold her still while I place the salve on her wound, then I'll take care of yours and everyone else's wounds."
"Sounds good Queen." She smiled. I smiled despite seeing how her's was so forced.
Time skip
Once everyone was somewhat healed we all gathered in the common room and some played with a deck of cards that our C.O. had gifted us one holiday for 'Good Behavior." I smiled as Blackthorn taught Nina how to play one of the more difficult games with the worn out cards.
I sighed sadly before turning back to the table infront of me. Margaret wants this done ASAP. I snorted at my S.O.'s name I had found out about a year ago. I had let my alternate personality 'Queenie' out to play after a certain someone had pissed me off. Hence my codename. Despite being in control most of the time, I didn't have a name; at least one I could remember. As the guards dragged me out of the room and to the "Obedience room" as they called it, I swiped her ID. It was definitely worth it to tease my S.O. with the knowledge that I knew her first name. Strictly taboo here.
I twirled a small spring in my hand as I built the weapon. Oh how I'd love to sabotage it. Make the user burst into flames. But unfortunately last time I did that they made me be the one to test it. Instead I finished quickly and shoved it in the strange chute they made for finished products.
As I began working on the next assignment I noticed a small set of eyes watching me and smirked.
"Did you need something Nina?" I asked the small child who had wandered off from Blackthorn who was now speaking to Wanda.
She nodded before coming to my side and made a gesture for me to pick her up. "I heard some of the guards talking today." She whispered quietly.
I nodded. "Do you mind if I..?" I questioned as I made the gesture to shift her. She nodded and I quickly did so before reaching around her and had Queenie continue my work as I looked through Nina's head to see what she overheard, whether concious or not.
"Man, did you hear about the African sector? They just got raided last week!" A Guard muttered to his companion as they stood guard.
"Yeah, S.H.I.E.L.D's closing in. That's the third one in the last 6 months. Wouldn't be surprised if it were the Queen who was giving info."
"S'possible, I mean her last beating was because her last mission involved S.H.I.E.L.D interference."
"No way! She must be a real Idiot if she'd attempt that with Knight over her shoulder."
"Well, she is insane."
The conversation stopped there as Nina was then thrown into the arena. I removed myself from her thoughts to keep her from reliving those memories.
"Are you okay Nina?" Queenie asked for me as I took a moment to meditate before I snap.
Nina nodded tiredly before going to sleep on my chest. I smiled and shifted her into a more comfortable position. I finished my current weapon and moved on to the last one of the week.
It was a small device that sent out an emp followed by a static transferred Trojan horse. I'd been working on the schematics for a week before my S.O. demanded I make it.
I looked down at the sleeping girl in my lap, then to the others in the room.
I'm going to get us out.
Even if it kills me.
