Dear Mama, Daddy, and Teddy,

I know it's been almost a week since I left home. I'm sorry, I feel like it's the right thing to do. I've made a few friends, Petey and Henry. I rode the rails, it was scary but fun! I got arrested once because we're not allowed to ride the rails for free. Guess what? I found a job at Fletcher Farm in Alabama along with my friends! We just got done with our first day. It's gonna be great! Mrs. Fletcher is really nice. I haven't met Mr. Fletcher, the boss, just yet. He's out of town and will be back probably tomorrow or the next day. When I get paid every week, it'll be coming your way, I ain't keeping it. I love you. I miss you three very much. Tell Teddy to mind Mama and Daddy, I'll give him a present when I get back and that's a promise!
