Shoto stood outside the Commission building, waiting for Endeavor to finish with a meeting. Mirei walked over to him, looking him up and down.

"Damn. What the fuck happened to you?" She asked. "A- and why is your aunt famous?"

Shoto blinked at her, before saying "Yeah, you've.... Missed a beat. Also- since when were you a princess and heir to a throne?"

Mirei sighed, saying "As you said, you've missed a beat."

You: Well, we found out where my biological family is. Me, Hitoshi, Tenya, Denki, and Neito (Monoma) went there. We then found out my mother is the literal queen there, which, by default, makes me royalty.

*Rewind to a few days earlier....*

Masae let out a snort, watching as Shoto struggled on ice skates. It had been his suggestion to go ice skating in the first place, and yet, he didn't know how. She still found it so cute though....

"You want some help?" She asked him, skating over to him.

She grabbed his hand, Shoto glaring at the ice.

"This feels so much easier with my quirk." He said, frowning.

Masae smiled, saying "Just relax. Let yourself lean into the ice."

Shoto leaned too far, landing face first into it. Masae burst into a fit of laughter, watching as he struggled to get back up.

*Present....*

Peppermint: Yeah, all my pride is Shattered. Whatever I had went out the window with my dignity when she saw me fall on my face.

You: So, second date, or...?

Peppermint: .... We have one scheduled for this weekend.

Mirei yawned, entering the house. As much as she wanted to learn more about her new mom, she honestly just wanted to sleep and-

"Mirei."

Oh.

She turned around, facing Nemuri, feeling her heart clench. The last time the two had spoken was when.... When Mirei had run away.

"Mom...." Mirei mumbled, looking nervous.

Before she could say anything, Mirei wrapped her in a hug, squeezing her tightly. Mirei immediately returned it, sniffling.

"Why.... Why aren't you more mad?"

"I was never angry with you, Mirei. I just wanted you to come home."

*Fast forward to the next day....*

"Kayama, Shinso, you'll be up against...." Shouta trailer off.

His blinked at the paper. He broke into a grin.

"You know what? I'll let you two figure it out." He said, before walking away for his match against Todoroki and Yaoyorozu.

Hitoshi turned to Mirei, saying "I don't like this. I really don't like this."

Mirei nodded in agreement, saying "It's one thing for him not to tell us, but for him to smile?"

The two looked up, and paled. There, in clear letters, it read:

Hitoshi Shinso and Mirei Kayama VS Hawks.

"Ummm...." Mirei said. "Okay, yep, we're cooked."

"Oh, we're so fucking screwed." Hitoshi said.

He then hissed, rubbing his eyes, Mirei glancing at him in concern.

"You okay?" She asked.

"Yeah, fine. My eyes have just been really irritated recently." He responded. "Come on. Let's get ready for the fight."

Once it was their turn, the two went out, finding themselves in the same space that Jiro and Kota used against Present Mic.

"Ah!" Hitoshi winced, rubbing his eyes again.

"Mindswipe!" Mirei shouted, reaching for him.

A bunch of red feathers went towards them, the two barely moving in time to avoid getting sliced. Feathers pinned Mirei's costume to a tree, before going towards Hitoshi.

He closed his eyes, rubbing at them furiously.

"You should watch yourself, heroes!" Hawks called out from somewhere in the trees.

At the last second, Hitoshi dodged. Mirei's eyes widened.

".... Too slow."

Hitoshi's eyes were glowing purple the same way Ayami's did for her quirk, only.... In the colored part of his eye, there was a single black band at the top part.

He easily dodged the feathers, whipping out his own version of Eraserhead's capture scarf to black a few of them.

"Hitoshi! What's going on with your eyes?!" Mirei asked, freeing herself to join him.

"No idea." He responded, dodging another feather.

Mirei glanced at his eyes again. Now there was a second black band. What's going on?

"I see Hawks!" He shouted, running off.

Mirei ran up to the tree he was going towards, summoning her claws to climb her way up. Unbeknownst to Hitoshi, there was now a third band in his eyes. Hitoshi himself felt.... Weird. There was this weird feeling in the back of his mind, almost like when he's using his quirk and waiting for there to be a response. No, exactly like that. But his quirk didn't work through his eyes, right?

"Hey."

He whipped around, spotting Hawks. The hero swung a feather at him like  sword, Hitoshi locking eyes with him as he shrieked.

.... And then, he froze.

Hitoshi blinked.

Well, fuck.

Slowly, he just.... Put the cuffs on?

"Hitoshi! Are you okay?!" Mirei shouted out.

"Um.... Yeah? My quirk is being weird, but-"

And then, in that moment his quirk entered overuse, and he passed the hell out.
