Chapter Seven, Wedding
Chapter Seven, Wedding
The day had finally arrived. The day that Visenya got to marry the love of her life Laenar Velayron and also Robb Stark. Visenya could readily admit that she had been dubious about how things would go with the Stark heir when she found out that day in the hot springs two moons ago; however, since that day Robb had been doing his all to prove to not only Visenya, but her family and those who served and travelled with the Targaryen Queen as they cared for the girl deeply, that he wasn't like his mother or his aunt.
He had spoken to Obara and her aunt Ellaria (who were blunt in their words, which Robb knew) about what Visenya had implemented in Dorne and started writing up the same to implement across the North, and especially in Winterfell abolishing all of his mother's plans; he had also spent time with Rylen playing with him, introducing him to his younger brothers Brandon or Bran and Rickon which all three boys loved, as well as training with them teaching them archery. Robb had also spoken to Laenar to make sure all would be well within their triad; and finally gifting Visenya with white roses (he avoided blue winter roses as he knew that was how her father had embarrassed her mother when she was young by gifting them to his aunt) and finally, he sent food across the sea for her aunt and uncle and gifting her more sheep and other farm animals to the farm she had for her dragons.
All of which had gone a long way with Visenya, melting the ice in her heart that she'd held for a long time towards the Stark family for the part they played in the death of her mother, twin sister and baby brother. It proved to her that Robb was willing to try, willing to make amends for what his family had done, and prove he was nothing like them so Visenya had decided over the past two moons that she would meet him halfway.
"How do you feel, Vis?" Maelessa and Nora asked as they helped get her ready for the wedding.
Her gown was a beautiful cream colour with white lace, a high neck but her chest was bare apart from a gold detailing showing a v-neckline. She had matching gold ankle booties with a small heel, red rouge on her lips and coal on her bottom waterline showing off her amethyst eyes in high detail. Finally, her jet-black hair was half up in a braid with a valerian vine chain, and a cloak of her family's House: a black cloak with a red three-headed dragon.
"Not as anxious or dubious as I was two moons ago." Visenya conveyed after a moment of thoughtful contemplation.
"That's because he has proved himself to you." Nora stated, untucking Visenya's hair from under the cloak just as a sharp knock came from the door.
"He has." Visenya agreed with her friends and handmaidens, before turning to the door, "enter!" she called sharply. A second later the door was opened by Obara who was standing guard at the door with Sir Barristan while Marros and Sal stood guard at Rylen's door as Nymeria and his grandmother Lasa (who was also her advisor like she had been her mother's) helped him get ready and Sir Arthur Dayne and Sir Deziel Dalt were patrolling with Thanatos, and the rest of her cousins to make sure everything was safe for her and Rylen as well as their family.
"You look beautiful sweetheart." Oberyn smiled as he entered with Ellaria both with sad and nostalgic smiles upon their faces. "You look like a double of your mother on her wedding day." Oberyn told her, clasping her small but strong and calloused hands into his larger ones.
"Thank you Uncle." Visenya whispered with a watery smile. She felt the loss of her mother and older twin sister Rhaenys very keenly today. As she was now seven and ten she also remembered her past life fully and her magic was now matured meaning she was more powerful now.
"Oberyn don't make he cry on her wedding day." Ellaria scolded whacking his shoulder earning laughs from her niece, stepdaughter Obara and pseudo daughters Maelessa and Nora. "But he is quite correct, Vis you do look beautiful and very much like your mother. She along with Rhae and your little brother, and your grandmother would be so proud of the young woman you have become. Like we are, Vis." Ellaria smiled, resting a hand on Visenya's cheek.
"Did I hear correctly?" Oberyn asked mischievously. "Did you say I was right, my paramour?"
"Don't get used to it." Ellaria said simply.
"If I may say, my Queen," Sir Barristan said from the open doorway, "your aunt and uncle are both correct you look beautiful and your grandmother would be incredibly proud at the Queen you have been and will continue to be, only improving as you grow."
"Thank you Sir Barristan." Visenya smiled, blinking away the tears that had gathered in her eyes.
"Ready?" Uncle Oberyn asked, holding his hand out for his niece. He hadn't wanted her to marry a Stark of all people, but he was glad he and Vanar had been able to change the contract for their children – and she was his child – and that the young Stark had proved himself; he only hoped he would stick at it for the rest of their lives for if he made his sweet and fierce niece upset he'd kill him (he told the boy as such as well). And it would be a slow death.
"Ready." Visenya smiled, slipping her hand into her uncles for the long march to the Gods Wood where she would marry both heirs raising their status to King Consort.

As Visenya walked down the aisle in the Gods Wood where the wedding was set to take place, the aisle lined with hundreds of chairs as they were joined by the bannerman of Stark and Martel. In the front rows on either side sat the Stark family – (Catelyn sat with a sour look upon her face as she glared at everyone), including Jon, Theon and his new bride Daecy Mormont (Theon had taken on the Mormont surname and had been spending his time since his wedding on Bear Island) – sat on the left.
And on the right side at in the front rows sat the Velayrons, along with Lasa and Rylen, Thanatos, Ellaria Sand, her children with Oberyn (including the ones she didn't birth) Obara, Nymeria, Tysene, Sarella, Elia, Dorea, Obella and Loreza. Beside them sat Doran and his three children Arianne, Quentyn and Trystane who had travelled up with the rest of their men who all sat behind them with the bannerman of Velayron. At the front just before the Heart-tree stood Ned Stark with the two young men Robb Stark and Laenar Velayron who were dressed resplendently and with awed looks upon their visage as they watched the ethereal beauty approach them on the arm of her uncle; that was Visenya Targaryen while her four dragons flew overhead.
"We are gathered here to wed not two Houses but three," Ned Stark started bringing the quiet murmuring to an abrupt silence. "The great Houses of Stark and Velaryon are set to embark upon an extraordinary journey as they join the House of the Dragon, House Targaryen in matrimony. Once this happens no longer will House Stark be Wardens of the North and no longer will House Velayron be Lords for they are to wed a Queen and become her King Consorts. And with the changes the trio have made in the last two moons alone, I can wholeheartedly say that they will raise the North and Dorne to highest standards anyone has seen in centuries." Ned beamed to the gathering before him erasing any doubts his bannerman, or his little brother Benjen (who sat between Catelyn and his children not trusting her) that they may have had.
"With this Queen Visenya and the Martells have already raised the North by Doran rebuilding Moat Cailin as a wedding gift to us which I will be gifting to Jon, who is not mine but the son of my sister Lyanna Stark and Rhaegar Targaryen through marriage. Now, who brings this young woman to be wed?" Ned asked as Visenya and Oberyn finally joined them beside the Heart-tree.
"I, Oberyn Martell, the Red Viper, bring my niece, Visenya Fireborn Targaryen, The Mistress of Death, Mother of Dragons, Dragon Witch, Queen of the First Men and the Rhoner to be wed." Oberyn spoke loudly and confidently as he placed his niece's hands in Laenar and Robb's.
"And who wishes to wed, Queen Visenya?" Ned asked.
"We do." Laenar and Robb stated firmly with wide grins upon their faces. "Heir Laenar Velayron the Second. Heir to House Velayron and Master of Ships."
"And Heir Robb Stark. Heir to House Stark, Wardens of the North." Robb finished after Laenar.
"And do you, Queen Visenya Fireborn of House Targaryen, accept these men? To have as your King Consorts and father to your children and current ward?" Ned asked, looking at Visenya with a soft smile.
"I do!" Visenya agreed, smiling happily at Laenar and Robb.
"Then remove your family's cloak and don the new one of your new family, and then recite your vows to each other and the Gods, both Old and Valyrian." Ned replied. Everyone watched intently as removed her cloak, handing it to her uncle, before Robb threw a new cloak over her shoulders.
As she was from a higher-ranking House, the cloak was still made of black material with the red three headed dragon, but the emblems of Stark and Velayron could still be seen in the light blue-grey inner lining of the cloak and the clear Sigil of a howling grey Dire wolf signalling House Stark on the left side and on the right side of the lining the blue-grey blended into a sea-blue material with the cloak's clasp that of a silver seahorse.
"Now repeat after me." Ned commanded.
"I am yours and you are mine! From this day until our last! If we should stray let both the Old Gods and the Gods of Old Valyria strike us down!" As they finished, Mortem passed over a fine blade made of Dragonglass to Visenya who gently cuts Laenar and Robb's bottom lip before the young men each take turns cutting each other's palms. Catelyn stood in horror but was quickly pulled back down into her seat with a warning look from Benjen, as Marros made a show of unsheathing his sword in Catelyn's direction ready to protect his best friend and Queen at all costs.
Once completed, Visenya slips the blade into holder hidden in her garter, and shares a kiss with Robb then Laenar finishing their vows as they hold her hand mingling their blood with her. Once Visenya and Laenar pull apart, Robb rubs a mark upon their foreheads, before pulling Visenya into a blinding, breathtaking kiss, signalling the end of the ceremony between Houses Stark and Targaryen; and when they parted Visenya barely got a moment to catch her breath before Laenar was pulling her into his arms for an equally blinding and breathtaking kiss finishing the ceremony between Houses Targaryen and Velayron.
That was another factor that had endeared Robb to not only Visenya but Laenar and their families too, when he came to Visenya and Laenar after he had trained Rylen, Bran, Arya and Rickon (to his mother's ire. Not that he cared as the North was quickly going back to how it was and letting girls and women fight) and had asked them what the wedding custom was for their Houses and families as they follow the Gods of Old Valyria. After their small conversation where Visenya had explained everything to her soon-to-be-husband, Robb had declared that he will add their custom into their wedding as they were marrying in the Gods Wood to the Old Gods, before he hurried off to speak to his father.
"I give you, your married triad!" Ned declared happily, pulling Visenya from her thoughts to a round of cheers and shouts of congratulations as both Laenar and Robb were making her skin heated where they rubbed teasing circles on the small of her back; she knew the minute they returned to their new and larger chambers that there would be no sleeping for them but especially her.
"I can't wait until we return to our new chambers, and I finally get to have you, my Queen." Robb whispered huskily like a starved wolf as he kissed beneath her ear making her shiver.
"Oh I agree! It is definitely going to be a long night for you, my dragon." Laenar agreed huskily, lust and love shone in his sea-green eyes while lust and growing affection shone in Robb's blue-grey eyes. Their words hidden by the loud shouts and celebrations that reverberated around the woods as her four babies joined in roaring their celebration as they let out quick short snorts of fire as they flew in circles above them, which gave Visenya some time to centre herself as she closed her amethyst eyes and took a deep calming breath as she felt herself grow wet; however, time wasn't on her side as a little excited shout of her name pulled her from centring herself.
"Mama! Dada! Papa!" Rylen cried excitedly as he ran over to them, shocking those who heard at his quick acceptance of Robb but that was just how he was, much like he had been when Laenar was dating his mother in Dorne which seemed like a lifetime ago now. Giggles tumbled from Rylen's lips as Robb scooped him up and threw him up above his head a little before swiftly catching him and repeated the process when more and louder giggles tumbled past his lips. "Are we going to be a family now? Con-grat-u-lations." Rylen cheered, stumbling over the word as he sounded it out.
The married triad shared a look speaking without words before small smiles that quickly widened slipped onto their lips. Their cuts now healed thanks to Visenya's magic.
"Of course baby." Visenya agreed, brushing Rylen's hair out of his eyes.
"How about we head to the Great Hall and get us all something to eat?" Robb asked, smiling as Rylen cheered happily eager for some food as he settled his head on Robb's broad shoulder, a contented sigh leaving his lips.

Author's note: DO NOT ask me to update in any way shape or form. There are other ways of telling me what you thought of this. It's late because I've been transferring all my stories on to a new laptop which aggregated my carpal tunnel so had to wait for that to heal before I could write this.
