GREAT GRAND GESTURE-III

Hello everyone, I am back with a long and one of the very exciting parts of my tale.

At the stage, still glued to her father's neck, little Haseena eyed her mother who was looking at her with suspicions, she then looked at her father not able to accept it. Her father told her, "Haseena beta!! Always remember we should always take responsibility for our actions and face its consequences bravely. Understand!!!" little Haseena nodded and said, "Abu!! Ammi!! I am sorry, you both had worked hard to collect that money for my favorite geometry box but I gave it away to a lady whose child was crying out of hunger." Abu looked at Ammi and they both smiled. Her mother sat down on the sofa and called her, "Haseena come on come to me!!!" Haseena looked at her father who assured her to go. She gets off his lap and moved towards her Ammi who took her both hands and kissed them first then her forehead, "My Baccha!! You don't have to be sorry, you did a great job." "Really??" she asked beaming with joy. Her mother nodded and gestured towards her Abu who smiled and said, "Your Ammi is right Haseena, we must help people in need with whatever resources we had. You sacrificed your own wish for helping someone in need. I am proud of you my supergirl." he said stood up from his seat and forwarded her arms towards her. Little Haseena ran towards her Abu smiling and laughing and at once jumped in his hold who took her and swirl her around twice and then took her in his arms while the hall echoed with little waves of laughter. A piece of soft music started playing with her echoing laughter. Abu took Haseena towards the sofa and her Ammi also moved towards them both. They were tickling Haseena in their lap, giggling and playing with her while the song was playing in the background

Itti si hansi

Itti si khushi

Itta sa tukda chand ka

Khwabon ke tinko se

Chal banayein ashiyaan

Itti si hansi

Itti si khushi

Itta sa tukda chand ka

Khwabon ke tinko se

Chal banayein ashiyaan

(itti si khushi song from aashiyaan)

The music faded and curtains closed on Haseena's echoing laughter. Everyone backstage who had seen this was mesmerized seeing her bond with her parents and her soft, sensitive heart. Anubhav who was in his room seeing this, said to himself, "Haseena ji even now your heart is as beautiful and innocent as it was then. It seems I am falling in love with you all over again seeing your journey." Otherside, curtains were closed long ago but Haseena was still in memories of her and her Abu. Pushpa ji placed her hand on her shoulder who smiled and hugged her tightly feeling overwhelmed.

Curtains opened once again, stage setting was the same just that little Haseena was watching cartoons facing towards the white screen with a remote in her hand laughing and giggling upon cat chasing a mouse. "Haseena!! I am washing clothes, I want you to do the dusting." Her mother called her. "Okay Ammi!!!" she said and pressed the remote button gesturing towards the screen."

Giving cue backstage to switch off T.V. but Santosh was busy somewhere else so she forgets to stop the video. The poor girl was pressing it more and more looking at Santosh backstage trying to give her cue but Santosh could not get it. Karishma whispered in Bluetooth in her ears, "Santu!! Switch off the T.V....what are you doing you will make her confused." She gritted through her teeth. Santu bit her tongue, "sorry madam!!Sorry!!" and at once switch it off.

On the stage, Little Haseena takes a duster already placed for her there, and started wiping off the table, "How boring it is???" she said to herself, "idea!!!" she said with a sudden sparkle in her eyes. She stood up, with the duster in hand, and taking the support of the sofa back she lifted her body up in the air and rotates her body forwards at an angle of 360 degrees around a horizontal axis with her feet passing over her head. A sight that shocks all the spectators who were seeing her. Little Haseena was jumping, climbing over the furniture, and somersaulting, again and again, to reach at different corners of the stage while dusting them.

Everyone clapped at the remarkable performance of the child even Haseena who said, "Where do you get such a gymnastic little actress?" she looked at Pushpa ji and then replied herself, "it must be Karishma Singh's network." She chuckled completely enjoying the performance. "This little actress is indeed commendable but what is more impressive is that my Haseena is a power pack of skills since she was a kid," Anubhav said to himself happily, cheering, and excited to find more about her love.

Back on the stage ammi called, "Haseena I wish you had done it being human but what can I do when you like more being a monkey right..." she said standing at the edge looking at her jumping from here and there. Everyone chuckled at her statement and on stage little Haseena bit her tongue upon getting caught. "Come on take this bucket of clothes and hung them on the roof to get them dried." She handed over a bucket. Haseena nodded and left the stage taking the bucket while her mother left too

The stage was empty and now Santosh played a recorded scene on the screen via projector. It was a rooftop amidst of homes situated closer to each other as often two homes share a common wall so in one whole street one can easily climb across the walls to jump on consecutive rooftops. Haseena had done hanging the last piece of cloth when she saw a kite moving away freely in the sky with only a short piece of string. She squeaked, "Kite!!!" and at once started running behind it jumping over the walls, climbing from one rooftop to the next and to the next.

Pushpa ji who was surprised, "Madam Sir! Was it really you??" she asked and Haseena nodded smiling widely, "I had been crazy about it, always ready to jump from one side to another, flying like a free bird"

Back on the screen, little Haseena jumped from the first floor to the ground floor right in the open lobby of a house doing a somersault catching a kite in the pathway and all the people of the house screamed in horror. The clip ended there only and curtains dropped.

Mansi on mike from backstage said, "Wow api you were really amazing....by the way how amazing was your Ammi's reaction when she gets her dear daughter's complaint from the neighbors of the house situated at the farthest end of their street? We all are excited to see that...." Hearing her words Haseena hid her face in her palms. "Madam sir!!! what was it? come on tell me??" Pushpa ji asked. "What Mansi?? I am afraid you guys would take away all my grace..." Haseena complaint cutely hearing her everyone giggled.

Curtains opened and the stage was set with a lounge setting as it was earlier. A lady entered dressed in a Saree holding little Haseena's wrists tightly who was holding the kite in her hand she called, "Is anybody home????" she called loudly hearing which Ammi appeared from one side of the stage. "Haseena? I had sent you on the rooftop then how come you are entering from outside??" Ammi asked shockingly and Haseena bowed her eyes. That angry lady replied, "What would she say? My house was situated at the end of this street and a few minutes back I was working sitting in my compound when she landed on her feet in my compound from the rooftop holding the kite in her hand." "What?" Ammi ran towards Haseena and started checking her hands and legs for any bone breakage. "are you alright?? is it paining somewhere? Hands and legs anything??" she was extremely worried while Haseena shook her head in negative and told her, "I am okay." "She is right, she is absolutely fine....I must say she is not a girl but a rubber doll." That lady told her and then added angrily, "Whatever it is, it is surely not the way to enter in anyone's house, landed in my compound like a thief. She is the daughter of a policeman at least teach her to behave like one..." That lady spitted out anger and left from there leaving behind a disturbed little Haseena looking down guilty, and her very much angry ammi. Haseena lifted her eyes to see expressions of her mother who was glaring at her angrily, kite dropped from her hands there and she mumbled, "Ammi!!" only to hear a loud and angry voice which had shaken up little Haseena to the core. "How you reach there? What if you get hurt, you could have to get your arms and legs broken? Do you have any idea how shameful and it is for me and your father to hear your complaints from neighbors? Is this how you enlighten your father's and my name??" She was scolding her and Haseena was listening to her with her head bowed down and hands crossed ahead of her as her Ammi's every word was rooting in her heart. There was pin-drop silence in the hall when her ammi dragged her through her wrist and made her stood in the center of the hall. Pointing her fingers in full of anger she shouted, "Raise your arms and stand there without moving a bit or saying anything unless I say otherwise....." she ordered her angrily and stormed away from there. Poor little Haseena was in tears and sobbing but she did raise her arms and stood there with eyes down in the screen behind her clock was ticking showing three hours passing while the song was playing in the background,

Main kabhi batlaata nahi

Par andheray say darta hoon mein maa

Yun tu mein dikhlata nahi teri parwah krta hoon mein maa

Tuje sab hay pata hayna maa

Tuje sab hay pata meri maa

bheer mein yun na chori mujhe ghar lot kay bhi anaa paon maa

bhej na itna door mujh ko tu

yaad bhi anaa paon maa

kia itna bura hoon mein maa

(Maa song from tare zameen par)

Song ended and the hour hand of the clock showed three hours had passed and little Haseena was still in the same posture standing with raised arms.

As an audience, Haseena was overwhelmed and every eye was emotional, "that day I learned a very important lesson...." Haseena mumbled.

Just then the door clicked open and Abu entered the stage. His eyes popped out seeing her like this. "Haseena???" he asked. Haseena looked at him and get embarrassed she had bent her arms instantly to put them down but Ammi's words flashed in her mind and she once again raised them up straight. His father was shocked, "where is your mother??" but Haseena was too embarrassed to look up and answer him. Abu moved towards another end of the stage and with him, light also moved.

Sitting as audience Haseena said softly, "it was first and perhaps the last time ammi had punished me. When Abu saw me I was so embarrassed and wanted to just run away from there but I could not go against Ammi's words so stuck there only. I was feeling embarrassed, guilty and started crying bitterly." she told Pushpa ji remembering the incident. At the stage, Abu entered the room where ammi was lying on a bed sleeping.

Back on stage, Abu shook her up, "Haseena's ammi!!!" he called her and she woke up. "have you punished Haseena?" he asked and she nodded. "But why??" he asked getting agitated and then her mother told her everything. She looked at the time and get shocked, "What it's been three hours!!!! Is she still in the same position??" she asked horrified. "yes, she is standing there hands up for three hours......come on...you don't have to punish her for such a long time, she is still too young especially when you know she could never go against your words." Abu said to her mother who nodded and tears streamed down her eyes, "I know even I wasn't intended to punish her for so long it's just that I don't know when I slept and that too so deeply......one second....you came here passing by her!!!! Oh my God....my poor Baccha, she must be so much embarrassed like this in front of you...." she said realizing and at once ran out of the room towards her.

The light shifted along with them towards the lounge where she was standing only to see her crying bitterly with so many tears streaming down her eyes. Moving towards her with slow steps her mother sat on her knees at her level and opened her arms for her, "Haseena!!!" she called, Haseena looked at her and ran towards her engulfing herself in her lap hiding her face in her mother's chest and started crying more vigorously as she mumbled, "Sorry Ammi!!!" she was crying and mumbling that only again and again. Ammi took her in her arms and get her settled on the sofa but she stuck to her chest. "Haseena!! it is okay beta!!!" she was trying to calm her down but poor little Haseena was too much affected. Ammi looked at Abu helplessly and said, "Malik sahib!!! Please do something..." "you should not have done this....you know how much sensitive she is???" Abu said and went towards both of them. Settling by her side he placed her hand lovingly on her head and said, "you are Abu's super girl right??? So stop crying Baccha." He whispered softly and lovingly. Haseena left her mother's lap and shifted upon her father. She was now calmer but was sob time and again placing her head on her father's shoulder. There was complete silence when she asked innocently, "Abu what should I do to be like a Police man's daughter???" she asked.

Everyone was so much engrossed in her story but the most lost soul was Haseena herself she had been teleported in that memory while tears were streaming from her eyes endlessly.

On stage, her father kissed her smiled, and looked at her mother whose hand was on her daughter's head. He nodded through his eyes and said, "First and most important you should be brave enough to face whatever life throws at you. Whenever something hard and tough comes your way, shout loudly and courageously looking into the eyes of the problem that "I am Haseena Malik daughter of Shehzad Malik and I can never lose." She lifted her head looked at her and repeat his words, "I AM HASEENA MALIK DAUGHTER OF SHEHZAAD MALIK AND I CAN NEVER LOSE." She kept on repeating that in a whisper to herself putting her head again on her father's shoulder, using it as a kind of spell to calm her down.

Haseena who was sitting there as a spectator looking at her very own story whispered the same to herself and Pushpa ji could see her reconnecting with it through her tears.

On the stage, little Haseena had been dozed off to sleep there only in her most comfortable bed- her father's lap. Abu told her Ammi, "I want my Haseena to be strong enough to not even protect herself but the whole nation." "I want that too, but don't you think she is too small for that," Ammi asked him. "Not after what she did today, she showed that her mind and body are ready to embrace the training she needed for that. Tomorrow, I will get her admitted to karate class where she will get her body strong and I will make sure to make her mentally strong enough to face anything in life. We know life never comes easy on anyone and now it's time for her to know that and get ready for it. My Haseena will become a brave and great officer one day....." Abu shared his vision for her daughter and ammi replied nodding with a smile. With that lights of the stage went off, only Ammi's voice could be heard, "Haseena started going to karate class and she indeed gets strong physically and Shehzad sahib used to spend his most of the time, he could, with her telling her the difference between every right and wrong until one day he left doing the same right he had taught our daughter. At that time I felt how I will manage with a 12-year-old daughter but it wasn't so long until I realized that my daughter now has the ability to manage not only me and our house but then something as big as a village."

Haseena was now crying experiencing dozens of emotions all at the same time, she stood up seeing her ammi coming down from stage followed by those actors. She ran to her and hugged her tightly who also reciprocated it and they both cried remembering their good old moments. Coming out of the hug, her mother kissed her forehead and said, "Your Abu, if he would have been with us, he would be the proudest father ever...." Haseena smiled nodding through her tears. Her eyes met with little actor and she tapped her head and said, "I must say you are impressive....you just made me see myself all over again." She said and that little girl replied, "Thank you..." Haseena looked at the man and said emotionally, "Thanks....thanks a lot for making me see him again." "you welcome but I guess you should thank someone else..." he replied only to find her puzzled look seeing which he added, "Karishma....Karishma Singh.... she is my friend and I am here all the way from Lukhnow just for her." "oh....I know.... No one could do it except her...." She smiled and he asked, "then why can't you embrace her?" he asked. "Excuse me??" she asked. "She did not tell me anything but I can feel it...." Haseena looked at him, sighed deeply, and then replied, "sometimes to hold on to the present one needs to forget what's in the past....it would be better if we could just stick on to be colleagues......sorry ex-colleagues" She replied with wet eyes, Karishma was hearing her too with wet eyes silently. Haseena added, "I would be happy if you both join us till the end of the event...." She said and they all settled back down there to see the next part.

It was a long part. Isn't it? I hope you enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed writing it down.
