ANUSHMA'S DAD
Hi everyone, Sorry for being late as part wasn't ready.
Anubhav and Karishma were sitting on the bench on the lawn only, holding each other's one hand, tears were streaming down from their eyes while they were drowned in their thoughts. That's when they saw two hands with two mugs of coffee in front of them, following the hands they raise their eyes to find Haseena standing in front of them. They took the mug from her hands and Haseena wiped both of their tears from her hands together and shaken her head in negative to which they both nodded. Picking up her own mug from the table, placed in front of them, she settled in front of them. There was complete silence for a couple of minutes as the brother-sister duo was gathering themselves taking the strength from their one special person and her coffee while Haseena was there, right by their side ready to give them what they needed at that moment.
"Anubhav, Karishma, Let me ask you one question?" she said and they both nodded. "Anubhav! When you go to your missions, don't you miss your family, and doesn't your family miss you?" "What type of question is this? Of course, I miss them and I am sure they miss me too." He replied a bit quizzing at her question. "Karishma, in our line of duty, mostly we could not give time to our family due to emergencies or night duties, etc. At those times, don't you miss your husband, and doesn't he miss you too?" "I do miss him Haseena and he too misses me but it is my duty, something to which I am committed, and no matter what I have to do it," Karishma replied and Anubhav nodded. "Exactly my point, your Dad too is committed with his work. You are not there at his place and I am sure there would be a thousand things going around him. Is it right to judge him like you both are doing?" Her question forced them to think about the issue.
"I can understand your pain very well because I have been through this pain all my life...." She said remembering her own father and then added, "He might be already feeling guilty for not being able to make up to his promise and on top of that when he will get to know that his darling princess had messed up herself because of his absence when he will get to know that his strong son had been crying because of him only; What will be his state?" Anubhav and Karishma realized that and glanced at each other. Karishma added guilty, "And after hearing my message, his guilt and pain would increase to manifolds...." "It's okay, send him another message, apologize to him and ask him to join you online for his birthday party. I am sure the great even manager in you can make his birthday special via video link too...What's say Anubhav?" Haseena said sharing her idea. "Perfect!!" Anubhav added with a smile while Karishma was elated at her idea, "You are awesome Haseena, like this even his birthday would not be spoiled and he would feel good too as he was living in that lonely place away from family.....Perfect Haseena....." Karishma said excitedly giving her a kiss while Haseena chuckled at her cuteness.
Karishma at once sends him another voice message as Haseena told her and a few minutes later Veer had confirmed that he will join them via video link. "Good...." Haseena was about to say something when her eyes went on Anubhav's eyes and she could easily understand that, unlike Karishma, he is still disturbed. "Anubhav, can you please drop me." She requested and he nodded. After that, they both moved out of the house while Karishma went inside to prepare for the party but not before giving Haseena a quick hug to which she laughed fully
While moving towards the car, Haseena said, "I will drive today....." "Okay!!" replied Anubhav meekly. "Woh!!! You agreed so easily today......" she added with a chuckle but Anubhav did not respond. "Hmm.....your mood is still off....." she added while sitting in driving seat. Anubhav settled himself beside her in the passenger seat and chose not to say anything. Haseena smiled at him, thought something, and drove away. Reaching upon destination when she applied sudden breaks, it was then Anubhav came out of his deep thoughts, "Aa!! Haseena Ji.....why you applied breaks suddenly......and....where are we?" he asked looking around. Haseena rolled her eyes and added while moving out of the car, "come out!" "But why you brought me here??" He asked getting out of the car, following her.
It was evening time, the sun was setting, and the sky was decorated with orange bloom when they reached an extremely beautiful and peaceful lakeside. Haseena held a visibly saddened Anubhav's hand and dragged him towards a lonely side devoid of the public. She sat on a stone and dragged Anubhav with her too. She joined his wrist with the same Anuseena bracelet with hers and asked, "Anubhav, you remember this....." She asked looking directly at his eyes which were filled with perturbed emotions. He nodded staring back at her, soaking in her positive energy. Her confident eyes were enough to tell him that she is there with him ready to listen to him without judging him at all, just like a true friend.
He took a deep breath, looked at her eyes, and lowered his guards to share the very own deep pains of his childhood while Haseena patted his hand in hers and assured him through her eyes for being there. "In an accident, my biological father and my mom's first husband, Rattan Singh died at the mature age of 40. We were living in Agra at that time with my mom's In-laws. I was 10 while Karishma was just 2 and a half years old when my grandparents had thrown mom out of their house and their lives too. Her cries still haunt me Haseena.....she was pleading and begging them to let her be in the house....she was horrified not for herself but for us and why shouldn't she be? For a normal housewife, who had spent a major portion of her life in the kitchen doing what we call 'Seva' or 'khidmat' of her husband and in-laws by tolerating all their taunts........and suddenly she has been standing there on the road with her two small kids all alone.....but her pleads did nothing except leaving lifelong marks on my soul.........." Anubhav said as his words choked in her throat only. Haseena had caressed his shoulder lovingly, with her own teary eyes, to lend him some support.
"After that, we moved in Lukhnow to my Aunt's place, my mom's best friend actually. She had let us stay in her house for some days but her in-laws were from the same backward setting too. My mother used to do all their work by hearing their mean comments and disgusting words, just so that she could feed me and Karishma two times a day. Thankfully Karishma was too young to remember anything but I wasn't. They used to accuse my mother of infidelity and I.....I was not able to do anything for her. Every night she used to cry herself to sleep. Thankfully, my Aunt, she was a great human being. By using her minimum resources, she gets my mother employed in a school as a teacher. She started teaching and the first thing she did was to move into a separate rented apartment for herself. Things started improving, me and Karishma both had started going to school but people had not stopped badmouthing my mother....earlier I used to cry, then my tears dried and after that, they changed into anger......In all these one more thing happened that my Karishma grew older.....she started questioning about Dad. She used to miss him a lot and I....I tried as much as I could to ease her pain but our fellow students used to taunt us......all these things had created a very bad impact on our personality...our anger issues had increased so much that my mom started getting complaints about us beating other kids......they want us to stop hurting those kids but they never tried to reach to the problem that we were facing, our grades had also started declining.....It was then my Dad, Veer Singh entered our life. He was a teacher in the same school, out of everyone he was the first person to diagnose our problem. He not only befriend us but communicates with the school administration and my mother too about it. In no time, we became best buddies and we still are. For Karishma, he was the one father figure she ever has in her imagination. He was a lonely man in the world, with no family. Our love had compelled him to first shift in our neighborhood and then to marry my mother. He had always encouraged her to be stable on her feet. He pushed her to take different teacher training programs and workshops to excel in her career while he used to take care of us in her absence. Soon, we get more attached to him than our mom. Karishma in her whole childhood she used to eat only and only by his hands while I got a football partner and best buddy in him. Times started passing and we grew older, he had opened his own business of import-export on our name, 'Anushma enterprise' When I wanted to join the police force, initially he was scared for it so as my mother. But then seeing my passion and love for it, he himself convinced mom and helped me in achieving my goal. Later on when Karishma expressed the same desire, at that time she faced serious disagreement from mom but Dad......he always supports us.....and he convinced mom too and get yet another wish of her fulfilled too. Everything was going well, his business started growing and we both had joined forces. But now from the past few years, he used to spend a lot of time out of the country on the pretext of business and we both got busy with our duty thus, Mom gets very lonely. He couldn't even make it up to Karishma's wedding and for that Karishma cried a lot. It gets very hard for me and Shorya to handle her. She misses her Dad so much and i too miss my buddy a lot.....unlike earlier, it seems to me that since we joined forces he gets more like a parent than our friend which he used to be......I miss him and so do Karishma......." Anubhav sighed deeply with wet eyes pouring his heart out.
Haseena had wiped away his tears from both eyes by her hands. Anubhav had smiled looking at her concern and kissed her hand lovingly. Haseena had responded with a smile, took his hand in hers, and added, "I am sure he must be missing you all too. It's just that sometimes we hastily announced our judgment without properly looking into the matter and I think at this time your thinking, that he might start valuing wealth more than you guys, is your hasty judgment and your love for your father. So don't think too much....okay!!" Anubhav nodded with a smile. "Now, put all thoughts aside, go home and prepare for his birthday with all the love you have for your Dad," Haseena advised him. It was then Anubhav's phone rang, "Greetings Sir!!" he added picking it up. "Anubhav, there is a two-day conference in Mumbai on the Role of Police and people's expectations. I want you and S.I. Karishma Singh to go it." Commissioner ordered. "Okay sir, when is it scheduled?" he asked. "It will start tomorrow, you both have to leave tonight only...." He told dropping a bombshell on him, "What??" was his shocking reply. "Is there any problem Anubhav?" the commissioner asked hearing his shocking response. "Amm......N...No, No sir..." he replied dissapointingly as his face fell on the thought that they won't be able to celebrate his birthday......
So What do you think will they be able to celebrate their Dad's birthday?
Waiting for your reactions!!!
