Chapter 74
The next day, a surprise awaited the students at the Great Hall during breakfast. They had been expecting a quiet morning like any other, but a scream from the Slytherin table caught all their attention.
Looking over, Diana's eyes widened when she saw Finn Martin yelling in horror as enormous red acnes and boils the size of nuts started appearing on his skin, covering his whole face. Even his hands were filled with them.
Mayhem fell upon the Great Hall as some students laughed, his friends screamer in horror, a few teachers helped him up to the hospital wing, and the rest of the professors tried to find out the source of the incident.
As it turned out, someone had poisoned his drink, and Diana could already guess who that 'someone' was.
After breakfast, Diana walked up to their old Ancient Runes class where their lessons were being held this year as well, though the number of students were less than last year.
Once she walked into the classroom, she saw Remus sitting on his usual seat at the front of the class, reading his book. With a little grin, Diana walked toward him and took her seat next to him,
"So," she started as soon as she sat down, "Poisoned drink. Large acne and boils on face. Does that have anything to do with you, by any chance?"
"I don't know what you're talking about," said Remus, without taking his eyes off his book.
Although he then lowered the book and leaned his face closer toward her, whispering with a mischievous glimmer in his eyes, "But from what I know, that certain potion which was accidentally poured into his shampoo the previous night creates boils everywhere on a person's skin. And I mean everywhere."
Diana snorted with laughter, trying to imagine Finn's reaction when he pulls down his pants only to find his unspeakable parts covered with enormous red boils.
"Do I even wanna know how on earth that person managed to sneak into his form and pour the potion in Finn's shampoo?" Diana questioned worriedly.
"Not person. People," Remus corrected her. "It was a job for four people, to be exact."
"Oh, God." She shook her head at him playfully. "You lot scare me sometimes."
"Sometimes it scares me, too." Remus chuckled.
"Is there even a single night you don't break rules? What kind of a prefect are you?"
"We don't break rules every day!" Remus said defensively.
"Oh, yeah? So you're telling me you're not planning on doing anything crazy tonight?"
"Of course n— well, yeah. But just because it's Sirius's birthday today. We're actually sneaking out of the castle tonight for some Fire Whiskey at the Three Broomsticks to celebrate him becoming of age."
Diana scoffed. "Yeah. As if you lot need a reason to sneak out of the castle to drink."
Remus laughed, but he wasn't able to respond as Professor Kumar walked into the classroom and soon began the lesson.

The sixth year Slytherin girls were asleep in their dorm that night, although they all snapped awake when a loud BANG came from downstairs. Another one followed after that. And then another.
"What the hell is going on?" one of the girls asked, rubbing her eyes as she sat up on her bed.
Diana and Layla had already gotten to their feet, leaving their dorm to go down to the common room and see what was going on. All the doors were opening one by one; as it seemed, the other students had heard the loud noise as well and had gotten up to see what it was.
Although the moment they stepped out of their dormitory, everybody shrieked when they realized that a few Dungbombs had been set off in the common room, filling the place with a green gas and a disgusting smell.
Some coughing and some gagging in disgust, the Slytherins ran out of their common room and into the dungeons where the air was better.
"I'll go get Professor Slughorn!" the seventh year Prefect yelled through the sound of the angry crowd and quickly rushed up the dungeons to fetch the Head of their House for help.
"Who the hell would even do that?" Layla asked, still coughing.
Although Diana didn't get the chance to answer as a hand grabbed onto her arm out of nowhere and started dragging her away.
"Remus!?" Diana hissed once she looked up to see who it was, but he only kept dragging her down through the dungeons and away from the crowd. "Merlin's beard — did you set off the Dungbombs in our common room!?"
"Shh!" Remus shushed her before giggling childishly.
"Oh, for Merlin's sake, Remus — are you drunk!?" Diana exclaimed as he ran down the empty corridors with his hand still wrapped around her arm.
"Pfft! No! Of course not!" he said, although he then let out a hiccup.
He didn't stop until they reached the end of the corridor, which seemed to be a dead-end. Remus finally let go of Diana's arm and walked toward the stone-made wall at the end of the corridor, clumsily pushing a few of the stones, but nothing seemed to be happening.
"Aren't you going to explain yourself!?" Diana crossed her arms over her chest, still in her long white nightgown.
"I'm searching for — Hic! — a secret — Hic! — passageway," he said between hiccups, still pushing the stones.
"I meant the Dungbombs!"
"Oh — right." Remus chuckled giddily, turning around to face her. He suddenly got dizzy and nearly fell, but Diana was quick to rush forward and hold him up with difficulty.
"Exactly how much did you drink tonight?" Diana asked worriedly, smelling the Fire Whiskey off him.
"Well — there was one — no, two — no, three — Hic! — What came after three?"
"Oh, Lord." Diana sighed, face-palming.
"In my defense, it was Sirius's idea. I tried to s — Hic! — I tried to stop him, but he gets extra crazy on his birthdays. Especially if Fire Whiskey is involved."
"But how on earth did you manage to get into our common room?"
"Shhh... it's a secret," Remus whispered mysteriously before giggling like a little girl.
"Okay, that's it. I'm taking you back to your common room," said Diana, wrapping her hand around Remus's arm to support him up before leading him out of the dungeons.
Diana knew the whereabouts of their common room, knowing that it was somewhere in the Gryffindor tower. But she had forgotten where its entrance was, and Remus's terrible directions weren't helping while being this drunk and giddy. Having to hold him from falling only made finding their way harder.
"Oh, thank God!" Diana sighed in relief when from afar she saw two ghosts floating in the distance, talking to each other. She immediately recognized them as Nearly Headless Nick and The Fat Friar. "We can ask them to help us find the way. Come on, let's g—"
"Hey! What's up!" Remus suddenly yelled, waving at the ghosts' direction cheerfully to catch their attention.
Diana groaned in embarrassment as the two ghosts looked at their way.
"Now, what are you two doing out of bed after curfew?" Nearly Headless Nick asked, floating toward them in mid-air along with the Fat Friar.
"Um... my friend here has been jinxed, which is why he's acting a little crazy," said Diana, trying to bring a good enough excuse to explain Remus's odd behavior. "I'm trying to help him get back to his common room, but I don't really know where the Gryffindor common room is. Could you help us?"
"Ah, certainly! Certainly!" Sir Nicholas nodded heroically, feeling as though he was being their savior. "See those stairs at the end of the hallway? They'll take you upstairs, to the most direct way to the Gryffindor common room. Search for the portrait of the Fat Lady."
"Right. Thank you." Diana nodded at the ghost in appreciation before tugging at Remus's arm to lead him away.
"GOODBYE, BITCHES!" Remus cried out enthusiastically, waving at them.
Diana groaned miserably and quickly dragged him away toward the staircase before he could embarrass both himself and her any further.
