Chapter 130

The cold weather had settled into the quiet corners of the small cottage, wrapping it in a blanket of yellow and orange leaves. Remus and Diana found solace in the warmth of the hearth and the steady presence of each other. The full moons that had come and gone by had become like a fever dream compared to what Remus had gone through for years. Little to no pain. Two humans in wolf bodies. Cozying up together in front of the fireplace and awaiting the morning.

As the weeks passed, Diana began to feel more and more accustomed to her new state, beginning to accept herself as a werewolf, and it was all thanks to Layla. Without her potion, the pain and suffering would've been excruciating.

It was amidst the muted hues of Autumn. Diana and Remus were sitting in their small living room that night on the couch. Remus was reading the Daily Prophet out loud to Diana that suddenly a blue light burst into their house, taking form of a Stag.

     It was James's Patronus.

Remus jumped up to his feet immediately, heart pounding against his chest. What could possibly have happened?

The stag opened its mouth, and in James's voice, it began to say, "Come to Godric's Hollow. Lily and I want to talk to you about something. Nothing to worry about."

As soon as these words were done, the Patronus vanished.

Remus frowned, immediately going to grab his coat and Diana's, getting ready to leave. "What do you think is going on?"

"No idea. But he said it wasn't anything to worry about."

Remus stopped in his tracks, looking at unease. "You don't think that he's going to be there, right?"

Diana knew exactly who Remus was referring to. Sirius. Neither of them wished to see the other.

"Well, there's only one way to find out," said Diana, walking toward their door. Remus seemed hesitant at first, but he followed after her.

Once they were outside, they grabbed each other's hands, and Disapparated into thin air. Moments later, Diana and Remus appeared in Godric's Hollow, right in front of James and Lily's house, which James's parents had gifted them on their wedding night.

James had wasted no time in proposing to Lily. It had been a small wedding, only a few short weeks after they had graduated Hogwarts; back when Diana was busy getting ready for her own forced wedding with Evan Rosier, before running away and going to the Lupins' house.

Remus still felt nervous as he and Diana passed the Potters' small front yard until they reached their house door. As the Order procedure went, they identified themselves before James took the safety charms off and opened the door to them. But the look on James's face startled both Diana and Remus.

He looked happy. Happier than they'd ever seen him.

"Diana! Moony! Get in! Get in!" James rushed them inside with a huge smile, closing the door behind them.

"Is everything okay?" Remus still asked, looking around for a sign of Sirius. He wasn't anywhere to be seen. Instead, they saw Lily walking toward them to greet them with a big hug.

"Oh, come in! We have a big news!" Lily said excitedly, leading them both into their living room.

"Well? What is it?" Remus asked as they all sat around.

"Okay, so, James and I knew for a while, but we decided to wait a little longer before telling anyone else, just to be sure first that it really was happening. But anyways, we also told Sirius and Peter to meet us here, so we should wait for them before telling you the news —"

"LILY'S PREGNANT!" James suddenly blurted out.

"What!?" Remus exclaimed, laughing in joy. He couldn't even wait a second longer before getting up and bringing James into a hug. He didn't even care that he would have to face Sirius tonight. James was becoming a father. That was all that mattered in the world tonight.

Diana felt just as excited, hugging the soon-to-be parents and congratulating them. "So how long has it been?"

"A couple of weeks. I'm starting to get a little bump too!" Lily said with a contented smile, placing a hand on her belly. Then turning to Diana, she said excitingly, "Would you like to feel?"

"Sure." Diana laughed but then nodded, a genuine smile playing on her lips.

She reached out to touch Lily's belly, where a little bump was visible over her shirt. But then, just as her hand made contact, the world around her seemed to dissolve into darkness.

Visions unfolded before Diana's eyes, a torrent of images that transcended the boundaries of time. She fell to the ground. Everyone surrounded her. She could hear the faint voices, calling her name. But the moment Lily touched Diana's arm to help her up, Diana was dragged deeper into the abyss.

A hooded man, walking across Godric's Hollow. The Potters' house. The door burst open. She heard screams. James's body was on the floor as the hooded figure stepped past him, walking upstairs. She heard the brutal screams of a woman, holding her baby in her arms, until a flash of a green light covered everything. The baby, his forehead covered by a scar in the shape of a lightening.

More visions flashed before her eyes in a span of seconds. Peter Pettigrew transforming into a rat and running away. And the next scene, he looked much older, as though fifteen years had passed. Another flash of green light, and he killed a young boy, in the middle of an eerie cemetery. She then saw the boy grown up, the scar on his forehead present in the scene. Lord Voldemort arose.

Diana was in pain. Her eyes had turned black. She was trembling on the floor, and nothing anyone did could revive her:

More scenes flashed.

Sirius fighting Bellatrix. Falling into a curtained archway. Gone forever.

Time flew. Hogwarts was under attack. Bodies falling to the ground.

And then, everything changed, and that was when five images came to her across five seconds; the ring of Salazar Slytherin in the ruins of Guant family house, the Cup of Helga Hufflepuff in the depths of Gringotts, Rowena Ravenclaw's Diadem in a hidden room, a Diary in the Malfoy Manor, a locket within a basin inside a cave; Regulus trying to reach it, being dragged under water.

The weight of the revelations bore down on her, the tapestry of destiny weaving itself into her mind.

As swiftly as the vision had begun, the darkness receded. Diana gasped for air, coming back to reality. The gravity of what she had witnessed settled upon her.

Diana looked around. Her throat was dry. Her mind was racing. But she was calm. For the first time, she knew exactly what she had to do.

"Call everyone in the Order for a meeting," Diana announced, taking everyone by surprise on how calmly she stood to her feet. "Everyone, except for Pettigrew."
