*Kendrick Pov*

“Are you really sure about what you are going to do Father?” I asked him glancing at the Velimar Kingdom council members along with King Albert who are glancing back at us with questioning looks.

“Are you doubting my ideas Kendrick? Don’t forget that I am still your king.” He barked but in light tone.

“Forgive me Father.” I said nodding my head.

He sighed and said “I am really worried right now. I don’t know whether they will accept my idea or they may even get anger by hearing that.”

“If we don’t return to our Kingdom safely your Mother will skin both of us alive.” He added.

“Don’t worry Father! Juan is going to bear it for both of us.” I said assuring him and heard Juan saying ‘What?’ but I ignored him.

“King Ronald and Prince Kendrick please have a seat and state your reasons to be here.” The council head asked gesturing towards the thrones behind us.

“Never in my wildest dreams did I dream about you standing here infront of me in my palace and especially not like this for sure.” Kind Albert said shaking his head.

“I can say the same thing.” Father said when we are taking our places on the thrones.

“Then why are you here King Ronald?” King Albert asked with his eye brows raised a little.

I started glancing at the council members who always thinks themselves as the people equal to the royals. Because of that reason many Kingdoms don’t have any council but after the death of Queen Hera this is formed by King Albert.

“Is Princess Melody already asked for?” Father asked surprising all of us.

“Not right now but will be soon.” King Albert replied after composing himself.

“Can her presence be requested here to hear my words along with you all?” Father asked again.

“Now don’t ask his highness that ‘Is it the place where we are going to kill the Princess?’.” Juan whispered leaning a little so that only I can hear.

When I glared at him he moved back to his standing position beside me. I shook my head and saw King Albert whispering some words which might be his thoughts with the council members.

“Let Princess know that she is requested here.” King Albert said to a soldier and he left the council chamber bowing.

“Did you get what I am trying to do?” Father asked glancing at me.

“Yes! This is not about how to kill the princess. This is about how to kill the Prince and the Princess together.” I replied shaking my head.

“You are missing one thing son.” He said smiling.

“What is it?” I asked him confused.

“That you both will become King and Queen ofcourse if my idea works.” He replied and I just sighed.

Will they accept???

*Melody Pov*

“Princess!” hearing this I turned my attention from the painting to Amy who is standing near the chamber door.

“What is it Amy?” I asked her smiling and removed the paint stains from the cloth I use for this purpose.

“Your presence has been requested in the council chamber.” She replied bowing.

“Am I really hearing this? Maybe you have mistaken the message Amy.” I said with shock evident in my face.

“No Princess! I even heard the soldier saying that King and Prince of Hulind Kingdom are present in the council room.” She said whispering to me.

“Oh my Heavens! I hope that is not the signal for some other problem we will be going to face soon.” I said and stood infront of her with my back to her.

When she loosened the strings I changed into a simple dress but I made sure that it shows the dignity of the royals too as my Father wants. After getting ready I walked out of my chamber.

With two soldiers who are protecting my chamber accompanying me I walked towards the council chamber. When I reached the doors of that chamber I stopped in my steps and gestured the soldiers to stop here smiling at them.

Taking a deep breath I opened the doors and entered the chamber. When I walked towards the centre of the chamber I bowed to my Father and the council members and then turned towards the thrones where three new members are there.

I bowed to them and they looked at me with shock on their faces for few seconds. Two of them composed themselves but one still continued to glance at me with that face of his.

When I realized that I am staring at them I moved back to look at Father who is looking at me like he is angry.

“You need not bow to them Princess. They are the King and Prince of Hulind Kingdom.” Father said with hard expression.

“That doesn’t change the fact that they are royals Your Highness.” I said bowing to my Father again.

“Princess! Please take your place. I have something to say to you all.” I heard the King Ronald saying.

I nodded and sat on the small throne placed beside my Father’s. I glanced at my Father to see that he folded his palms into fists and it shows that he is angry because of my behavior.

“King Albert! Your Kingdom is in need of land and my Kingdom is also in need of that. But if we continue these wars then the number of people dying in this is enough for us to not even need that land.” King Ronald said making me look at him with admiration.

These are my same thoughts and also everyone’s. But no one is ready to accept these facts openly.

“What are you trying to say King Ronald?” Father asked with a frown upon his face.

“Why don’t we make use of that land together?” King Ronald said looking at my Father directly.

“How can we do that? Even if we do that how can we be sure that this is a war trap?” Father asked his doubts openly.

“How can my people kill the people that belong to their Queen’s home Kingdom?” King Ronald said throwing question towards my Father.

“King Ronald! What are you trying to say?” One council member asked.

“I want to ask Princess Melody’s hand for my son Prince Kendrick.” He replied making each one of our eyes go wide with astonishment.

“What?” the whole council along with my Father asked him while I asked him inside my head.

“Give it some thinking with peace mind. If this happens then they both will be King and Queen for both Kingdoms. By that both Kingdoms will be one then the land can be used by both Kingdoms.” He replied calmly.

But marriage for that? I thought with panic settling itself in my heart. Until now I was told that I have the right to choose my groom who will rule my Kingdom standing beside me.

Now they are proposing an idea in which I don’t have any choice. I glanced at my Father to see that he is in deep thought.

Is he thinking to go through this idea? I thought and then looked down. This is my life and I want to choose this important part of my life as the choice of person with whom I decide to marry have effect on my whole life.

If this really stops all these wars then…. Then maybe this is the right thing to do. If I accept this idea then this will save all the lives.

Isn’t this what I have been wishing all these years? Then I should have not even got slightest thought of not going through this. Did I become selfish by thinking about my life?

I am future Queen for my people and I shouldn’t think selfishly. Deciding what to do I look up to say that I accept this proposal.

But then I saw that my Father is hugging King Ronald. Then I glanced around the chamber to see that everyone have happy looks on their faces. I held the throne tightly with my hands.

“But I have one condition.” Father said making King Ronald and Prince Kendrick look at him with questioning looks.

“Marriage should be conducted in few days.” He said making my tight hold on the throne even more.

“We too would love to go through that but we need to go and announce this to our people.” Prince Kendrick said with blank expression.

“After marriage, you all can return at same time and announce it. We want to show our guest service to the future King of this Kingdom.” Father said making my throat dry.

Why was I not asked before settling this? I know I decided to go through this but I could have been asked once right.

“He is right son. Let’s get you two married and then we will return to our Kingdom.” King Ronald said smiling.

“Father! We can’t do this so soon.” Prince said shaking his head.

“I want to retire soon Prince Kendrick. Accept to this as a request from this old man.” Father said glancing at him.

Few minutes later Prince Kendrick slowly nodded and then the whole Council chamber burst into cheers. I slowly got up from my throne and walked outside the chamber.

I was not even asked by anyone of them. This is the thought that Rome around my head even after reaching my chamber and laying myself on my bed to drift off into sleep to stop these thoughts not even caring about the type of dress I wore is not to use for sleeping.
