Faith
In life, we're taught that believing in yourself is the key to clarity and success. And, yes, self-belief gives you strength, a sense of purpose. But what happens when that belief falters? When you're standing at a crossroads, lost and confused, with no clear path ahead? When the road in front of you is shrouded in fog, and no matter how hard you try, you can't see your way forward? In those moments, self-belief alone isn't always enough. You need something more—something larger than yourself to hold on to.
There are times when I feel so overwhelmed, so isolated in my struggles, that no one around me seems to understand the depth of what I'm going through. It's like my pain is invisible to the world. I try to explain it, but the words don't seem to capture the weight I carry, and it leaves me feeling painfully alone. That's when I turn to God, my chosen source of belief. I place my trust entirely in Him because, in those dark moments, I need to believe that there is something—someone—who sees and understands my pain.
I believe with all my heart that my mother's prayers, which she offers every single day, will reach God. I believe that through her love and devotion, I will be shown a way out of the darkness. It's not just a hope; it's a lifeline. It's the only thing that keeps me from collapsing under the weight of it all, from giving up entirely. Her prayers become my strength, my shield, when I feel I have nothing left. Knowing that I'm not alone in this battle, that her faith in me is working alongside my own, gives me the courage to keep moving forward.
It's hard, though. So incredibly hard. The pain doesn't disappear just because you believe. The struggles remain, the heartache is still real, and every step forward can feel like climbing a mountain. But what's happened has already happened, and we have no choice but to pick ourselves up, piece by piece. Sometimes, doing that requires help. We need something beyond ourselves to lean on when we can't carry the burden alone. For me, that something is my faith in God. It's what reminds me that, even in my worst moments, I am not forsaken. Without it, I would feel adrift, lost in a world that feels too heavy to bear on my own.
And in a way, I also feel like it's God reminding me of His presence, of His existence, just in case I've forgotten. It's in these moments of hardship that I feel closest to Him, like He's reaching out to me through the difficulties, urging me to remember that He is there. It's almost as if the pain itself becomes a signal, a way for Him to draw me nearer when I've been too consumed by life to notice. It's through these struggles that I'm reminded to reconnect with my faith, to place my trust back in Him, and to realize that I am never truly alone.
It's like being stranded in the middle of the ocean, surrounded by endless darkness, with no land in sight. You don't know which direction to swim in, and the exhaustion of keeping yourself afloat is overwhelming. But then, in the distance, a small light appears—a faint glimmer of hope. It's not enough to illuminate the entire path, but it's something to swim toward. It gives you a reason to keep going, to keep pushing through the waves, even though you're scared and unsure. That light—whether it's God, the universe, or whatever you believe in—gives you strength when you feel you have none left. You don't know how long it will take or what you'll face along the way, but it pulls you forward. And sometimes, that's all you need—a reason to keep moving when the rest of the world feels impossible.
As children, we don't question whether our parents have the answers or not. We just trust them instinctively. When we're hurt or scared, we run to them, believing without hesitation that they will make things better. That trust gives us comfort, the courage to face our fears. We don't need to know how they'll fix things; we just believe they will. And as we grow older, we start to lose that kind of trust. We get hardened by life, hesitant to put our belief in anything we can't control. But life is full of moments where control slips right through our fingers. In those moments, belief—whether in God, in the universe, or in some other force—becomes our anchor. It reminds us that we don't have to figure everything out on our own, that we're not alone in navigating life's storms.
In those times of uncertainty and fear, it's that quiet belief that whispers, "Keep going. You'll find your way." It's the reminder that even in our darkest moments, when everything feels broken, we can trust that something greater is working to guide us through. We just have to have the strength to hold on.
