A Poem to Remember
We laughed and joked
about your nagging
at 5 in the morning.
How you would wake
everyone up just to
see them clean and
hassle, to the bathroom.
No, lie you made me
laugh when you came over
"just to see your girlfriend."
Three days since I had arrived
and you found out, I don't know
how.
Asked me to buy you a 50 pesos
wine, I told you no, I have no money
so, I'll buy you one next time.
Now the truth is there will
be no next time because now
you are gone, and I'm not even there
to see you be placed down.
It's too bad I'm far away from home,
making me unable to see her go....
*So basically I came home to the news that my great grandmother died, and even though I saw it coming I still obviously feel kind of sad. We joked a lot about her and the hilarious things she used to say. She was old and all, but she could walk and talk shit to anyone in her way. To my fighter of a great-grandma, I hope you rest in peace, I'm grateful I got to see you one last time and that we ended in good terms.
