Punished
Oscar Pine sits on his bed in his room, reading a book by the light of a lantern.
Oscar's Aunt yells from another room, "Oscar, supper's almost ready!"
"What're we having?" He doesn't look up from his book. "Doesn't matter! You're eating it!" Oscar, in a joking manner, "I never agreed to these terms!"
"It's part of the "living under my roof" contract! Read the fine print, then come wash up!"
Oscar closes his book and stands up. He is walking toward the door when a voice resounds, causing him to pause. "We have to leave." Oscar continues forward. "Oscar. Oscar! We have to look for her." Oscar is about to grasp the door handle, but holds back, "I've decided you're not real, so you might as well give up."
"I understand how you're feeling. I went through the same panic and confusion. Now we have to find her; she can't be left alone for too long."
Oscar turns around and looks at an open book on the floor. He bends down and shuts it, talking aloud as he puts it and the one next to it away on a shelf. "It's not real. It's not real. It's not real." Oscar stands up. "I can assure you, you are perfectly sane."
"I'm talking to a voice in my head."
"I didn't say you were normal. I said you were sane." Oscar starts to leave his room again, "There's quite a significant difference between-"
"Shut up! Do you think this is funny? It's not."
"We are in complete agreement on that matter, I promise you. Believe me, I wish this weren't the case. But as I've told you, our Aura, our souls are combined."
Oscar looks up at the ceiling without really focusing on anything but clearly showing his disgust. "I'm done listening to you."
"Have you ever been to Haven?"
"I told you I'm not going, and I told you I'm done listening."
"Do you think you could describe the headmaster's office?"
"No. Why would I know that? I've never seen-"
"Try. Right now."
"It's probably... It's..." His eyes widen and his face slackens, "It's autumn-colored... with a large mahogany desk. There's a small table with chairs in a corner for guests, with a tea set that... I... I gave him with Saint."
The pan stops when Oscar refers to himself in the first person. He puts his hand to his head, disconcerted, "Why did I say that? Why did I know that? Why did I say that? Who's Saint?"
Oscar becomes increasingly bothered, and he starts backing up, dropping his hand, "Because I helped build that school along with a woman I call Saint, and the tea set was a gift to the man running it now. The woman you think about every now and then is her."
Oscar sits on his bed and holds his head, groaning. "If you don't believe me, you can look it up. If I recall, your aunt has several books on Mistral downstairs. I'm certain you could find a picture in one of them."
Oscar straightens up and lowering his hands, "That... that's right; I must've seen it in a picture."
"Oscar..."
Oscar stands upright, tightening his fists at his sides and shouts, "Stop talking to me!"
"I have a grave responsibility to uphold. We both do."
Oscar falls to his knees, "I never agreed to anything."
"No, you didn't. And neither did I, at first. But you do have an opportunity."
"For what?"
"Greatness, hopefully. Greatness in knowing that, when the world needed help, you were the one to reach out your hand. It won't come without hardship, without sacrifice, but I know you don't want to live the rest of your life working as a farmhand in Mistral."
Oscar places his hands on his head again, eyes wide, "So you just decided to read my thoughts?"
"I... well. They're our thoughts now."
"Get out of my head!"
"Oscar! Supper time! I better see clean hands!" Oscar looks toward the door but remains silent on the floor. He didn't know how to feel, yet a feeling of sadness seemed to hit his chest as you appeared in his mind once again, if he didn't look for you would it be that bad?
"My, it's been so long, dear (Y/n)." Tyrian eyed you up and down. "I wish it was longer." Everyone looked at you, "You know him?" Qrow asked, "We ran to each other quite often years ago." Tyrian answered. "A little too much." Qrow was confused in a way he thought he knew everything about you. How did you know someone like this?
"You know if you also come with me, my queen will make sure that your dream a reality. And Suneel will stop crying about you."
You glared at the Faunus, "Your queen makes false promises, and I already have family I want to protect." Tyrian glanced at Qrow, "Ahaha! Making family when you lost yours! That's fascinating! However, you insulted my queen, and I can't have that." Tyrian Callows pulls his tail back. Qrow turns around, swinging his weapon and holding at the ready by his side. "As I live and breathe, Qrow Branwen. A true Huntsman has entered the fray! Is he the one that Suneel talks about?"
Ruby gets up and sets Crescent Rose on its end. Qrow glances back at her, "I don't know, this guy's weird."
Qrow faces Tyrian again, "Look, pal, I'm not sure who you are, but you need to leave my niece alone."
Tyrian chortles, "Why, friend, my name is Tyrian. And I'm afraid that is not possible. My assignment from Her Grace was to retrieve this young girl. So, that is what I must do. One does not upset the Queen. Even if its another Queen." Tyrian glances at you at the last sentence.
"Queen?"
"Salem." You muttered.
"Who?" Ruby turns to you
"Hmm, I think we've had enough talk now, don't you? Dance with me (Y/n). Suneel has told me that you were quite the dancer." Tyrian drop kicks you; however, you wrapped your chains around his leg, swinging him behind you. You begin to charge at Tyrian as he regained his balance.
Ren and Nora join in, but Tyrian quickly gets them away. He moves to chase them, but You intervened, "Don't come closer!" The two of you continue to fight.
"Fine!" Ruby takes Crescent Rose to the top of a building and waits for an opening to shoot Tyrian. However, both you and Tyrian move too fast for her to get a clear shot. Tyrian uses his tail and grazes your skin slightly, a small ounce of blood dripped down, the red liquid mixed with purple. He had poisoned you, yet with a little dose, it wouldn't be enough to kill an average person. Tyrian then kicked your stomach, sending you through a wall; however, the force was enough to make you dizzy. Qrow caught you before you fell, "Stay low. I got this." You tried to push yourself up, trying to speak yet the pounding through your head was overpowering you. Qrow stands in front of you and puts himself in the field. Tyrian rushes Qrow as he uses the bullet capability in the gloves of his wrist blades.
Tyrian manages to use his tail to disarm Qrow. This slows things down enough for Ruby to repeatedly shoot at him from the roof, but Tyrian deflects each with his tail.
Qrow switches to punching Tyrian in face. With a final kick, he is successful enough to beat Tyrian down and casually move to retrieve his weapon from where it embedded in a wall. Tyrian waits until Qrow has his back turned before striking, but Qrow merely leaps on top of his weapon and activates its scythe mode. The two continue to battle, their fight taking them to a rooftop. They appear evenly matched until Tyrian descends into the building and uses his tail to drag Qrow down, too.
This is enough to make Ruby decide to stay back no longer. Just as she reaches the building, Qrow comes out through a wall, his body, and his weapon bouncing. The weapon lands with its blade in the ground, and Qrow perches atop it. Red flickers of damaged Aura move over his body twice.
Tyrian comes out of the floating dust and grime inside the building, purple flickers moving across his body. As the two begin to strike again, Ruby jumps in between and deflects Tyrian's blades with Crescent Rose, "Ruby!"
Ren holds Jaune back from moving forward, "Do you wish to be taken?"
"No! But I won't stand by and watch someone get hurt!"
Both Qrow and Ruby move in to attack Tyrian and the three clash. His eyes purple again, Tyrian almost gets her with his stinger, but Qrow blocks it, "Ruby! What did I say?! Get back!"
"This is my fight, too!"
She attacks Tyrian while he's still locked blade-to-blade with Qrow, but his legs arch away from the swing of Crescent Rose, "No, it's not that. It's-"
Ruby attacks again, and Tyrian moves to her. He flips and sends her back with a two-footed kick. Before Ruby hits the building you caught her making your back make contact with the wall, the wall behind you cracks slightly, luckily Ruby injuries weren't too severe with her aura down, but the wooden beams near the roof have been shaken up too much, and a massive one breaks and descends upon the both of you. Ajin slashed it in half, so it falls in pieces to either side of Ruby without touching her.
Qrow was relieved that both you and Ruby were no longer in the way, only to gasp in pain as he is immediately cut in the abdomen by Tyrian's stinger. Tyrian chuckles while everyone but Ruby takes a beat from the unexpectedness of it.
Your eyes widen as you saw Qrow get glazed by Tyrian. Your instinct kicked in, you whipped your chains and aimed it at Tyrian, cutting off his tail. "*screams* You! You bitch!" It bounces, spurting purple liquid, to the ground. Tyrian reels back and cries out from the pain. Standing, he whirls to face you, infuriated. Tyrian was about to go towards you; however, he noticed the dark aura around you; it was suffocating him. Your eyes were changing like when you last saw Cinder, indigo eyes with a gold outline. Tyrian felt scared as if he was in the presence of his Goddess. "Hush now, my baby, be still now, don't cry." Your voice was distorted, it had clicked to him, 'You were the same Saint from folklore, the Goddess of Grimm.'
"Sleep as your rocked by the stream, sleep, and remember my last lullaby."
Your knuckles began to pale as you held your chains tightly. "So, I'll be with you when you dream." As if it was a ribbon, you twirled it around you whipping it towards Tyrian. He acted quickly, yet out of fear, missing the edge by a millimeter. Yet it showed how painful it would have become as it the floor. The chains when it made contact with the ground, bits of metal scattered around, creating an echo. 'This is what Cinder was trying to warn.' Ajin was taller, now feeding on your rage. You could remember the echoes of civilians screaming in fear, but the screams weren't for the Grimm but you, you were like this once before, sadly those who witnessed the tragedy didn't make it out. "(Y/n)." Qrow's voice reached your ears; your eyes shifted back to their original state.
"My queen will be expecting you (Y/n)." Tyrian then ran off. Ruby crouches to Qrow, preventing him from hitting the ground too hard; the dark aura around you disappeared as if nothing was there. Nora, Ren, and Jaune watched in awe that someone like you seemed so terrifying, you didn't seem to be the teacher they knew back at Beacon Academy.
"Qrow." You kneeled to him; reaching in your bag to grab a rag, You placed alcohol within the cloth and gently placing it on the wound, Qrow jumped due to the pain. "Qrow hold still, please."
"I'll try, (Y/n)." Ruby and the others guarded you and Qrow. You then started to wrap the wound with bandages, "I'm sorry, Qrow, if I only reacted faster."
"Hey, it's not your fault." Qrow gripped your hand. "It's okay (Y/n)." Qrow wiped the cut on your cheek.
"Who was that guy?" Nora yelled.
"Why are people after Ruby?" Jaune added.
"How does he know (Y/n)?" Added Ren
Ruby stood in front of Nora and Ren, concerned.
"Uncle Qrow, (Y/n) what's going on?"
You looked down sadly,
"What's your favorite fairytale?" Qrow asked.
