Well, I watch a lot of superhero movies, and I also love the DC TV shows that are on now. As I said before, when I am invested in a genre, I tend to write more of it in my head. Sometimes I see certain tropes and such in these outlets and they all sit in my head, combining and rearranging until I have a bright idea, like making certain characters turn bad because of blank and be stuck in blank situation.

I chose my characters a bit by default and a bit because I was inspired by my favorites from other outlets. Some also are there to satisfy the plot, or at least start out that way. I try to make my main characters different from each other as well. Oliver and Xander are both nice guys, but Xander has a more apparent joy at the world of supers and a stronger willingness to do anything for anyone without a second thought. Arabella and April both do not agree with being damsels, but since April grew up in the life of heroes since birth, she has seen every side of them and wants nothing to do with them while Arabella wants to be one of them.
