Q&A (RockNRoll_is_my_drug)

Question 1.) Are you interested in turning your writing into a career?

A: I honestly have considered this many times throughout my life so far. I find writing very comforting and it relaxes my mind to be able to let my imagination wander onto a page for others to read. There's nothing more exciting than getting feedback from people who enjoy what you have to put out! I would love to explore my options further and even though it's not my first choice as a career, (I strive to be an artist in graphic design), I would definitely love to publish a novel and improve on my skills in literature :)

Question 2.) What do you like most about other people's stories you've read?

A: Like I mentioned in my first set of stories I don't read much other fanfics but ones I have read, I love their use of characters. Original characters to be exact. That's the most important aspect I think. Well not the only important aspect. Of course originality to a plot. These two things are what get people interested into reading that specific story. That's something I always try to change with my own. Stray away from the word fanfic and make it into a story that you can easily read without it having the use of a famous person.

I also enjoy word choices, views and the comittment other writers use with their stories. Let's not forget all of us are from different places. I'm an American girl all the way from Arizona. My way of writing will definitely be different than a girl from England or even Spain! I typically write American characters because I find it more relatable and I understand the different slang and languages at the time period the story takes place in. It's always enjoyable to read a Beatles fic from someone who knows the streets of England, knows the slang, the proper terms to things us Americans simply don't know lol I'm often jealous when I read other fics and I simply don't know laws or I know I've gotten something wrong. But when someone corrects me I always write it in my mind and take note so that in later fics, I'll get it right next time around.

What catches your attention when reading and what do you think makes a book great?

A: what mostly catches my attention in reading is dialougue. The way each character is written. I've read many fics where John is written differently. (Most of the time he's an ass lol) but his dialogue is often written differently! Either he's saying something crude or kind of just witty. It's often something I enjoy reading a story for. Also, (and this goes for most writers) Grammer! That good ol Grammer. We're all victims of bad Grammer especially in a world of autocorrect. I always edit my chapters before uploading but there's always that one word or comma that escapes me. And when I look back on it I am Furious lol.

Question 3.) How do you feel about most Beatle fanfictions in general? Do you think they're all too similar and innocent or do you prefer other ones that aren't so? (Example; Red Hall).

A: I love Beatle fanfics! But I do think over time a lot of them are based off other fics. I will admit I do enjoy a good typical fic I don't have to put too much thought into reading, but I do love finding a story that'll really captivate me and make me get emotionally attached to characters and make me feel the mood of each chapter.

Many people's taste in stories/fics differ. I do enjoy the fanfics that contain more of an edgier approach and aren't afraid to bend the typical cycle of "innocence" some writers aren't willing to go. But some writers aren't comfortable with writing certain scenes, overuse bad language so they prefer to write something they're more comfortable with. And I respect that!

Question 4.) Do you have any Beatle fanfics that you recommend that aren't your own to read?

A: I was asked a similar question in my last set of questions and I honestly had none to give lol. But I do have a few I've read that are more on the romantic side.

1. Devil in Her Heart by Me... jk no I'm not that full of it!

1. Red Hall although I know the original writer had it posted on livejournal or some other site, I know user @/beatlesfic has it uploaded to their account for others to read.

2. This Boy by @/lovingringo. This story was literally one of the first fics I read before writing my own. It brings back so many memories!

3. Don't Look Back in Anger by @/bohemianrhap5. This story is also an oldie but it definitely was one of the firsts to inspire me to write more.

4. West End Girl by @/moptopsandyoutubers. This is still a new/ongoing fic but I'm interested in it so far! Give it a read if you'd like! :)

Thank you so much @rocknroll_is_my_drug for the questions! I gladly appreciate your list and I look forward to more questions to come!

Remember if anyone wants to drop me a question I'm more than happy to answer and upload anything else you'd all like for me to answer. Peace and love and Happy Reading!
