Y/N POV

I was following Uncle Rex to some place, he didn't tell me where it was, or what it was, but there was a lot of bamboo. After a long time of walking there was this big pagoda style house in a small clearing. We both stopped walking and looked at the place.

"You may not see it, but you've got a lot of potential." He said to me as he walked in the house.

I follow him and I see a dojo inside with all sorts of weapons lined up on the wall and a set of armor in the corner. 

"You're training starts here." He said while passing a Naginata to me.

*flashforward*

Snapping out of my daydreams I look back to see the Forever Fall forest. I get why it was called that, but it doesn't look like fall at all. It looks more like-

"Bloody falls, is what they should call it." Angelo says looking at a leaf with a deranged grin.

"Yes, students, the forest of Forever Fall is indeed beautiful. But we are not here to sight-see. Professor Peach has asked all of you to collect samples from the trees deep inside this forest, and I'm here to make sure none of you die while doing so." Glynda says probably not hearing what Angelo just said.

We all come to a stop in the trail and look toward her.

"Each of you is to gather one jar's worth of red sap. However, this forest is full of the Grimm creatures of , so be sure to stay by your teammates. We will rendezvous back here at 4 o'clock. Have fun!" Glynda says as authoritative as ever.

"Alright you heard her let's go!" Carroll says organizing us into a line and we start marching off with him. Following behind RWBY and the now NPR. I see Pyrrha look back and I glance in the direction to see Cardin dragging Jaune off.

"I know, I've got a good feeling today, he'll stand up for himself this time," I say putting a hand on her shoulder.

"I don't know about that, but it's now or never." Pyrrha replies looking to the ground.

"Hey, Come on, stragglers are the first to die!" Carroll shouts now noticing my absence.

We both walk to the group in hope of finding a good place to get the sap.

Me and the rest of group found a good place to set up. With the combined forces of NPR, RWBY, and CNFR of us around, any single grimm didn't stand a chance. We had just finished filling up our last sap bottle, and we were waiting for the others to do so as well. Carroll had his machine gun at the ready, and I was on the opposite end by my sister with my carbine fully loaded.

"I'm telling you, one day the moon will fall, and we'll all be goners!" Ravio said to Angelo.

He wasn't interested, and was, licking his blade?

"Unless somebody finds the mask, no moons will be falling." He replies uninterested.

I laugh at their conversation. I remember Ravio always had this weird phobia of the moon falling down because he said he had a dream about it or something.

"Y/N?" Pyrrha asks.

"Yes?" I reply

"If things do pan out, will you help me train Jaune?" She asks.

I gasp "The great Pyrrha Nikos daughter of F/N Nikos and M/N Nikos has come to ask my lowly self for assistance in such a great endeavor, I am flattered, and I humbly accept your request on one condition, and that is to ask as to why I am the first choice in such a task?" I ask hamming it up with the theatrics.

"Come now Y/N, we both see his potential." She says seriously.

"Okay, I'll do it, stop looking at me like that you're scaring me." I reply sweating.

"Okay," She says looking back to her sap, "Also, thanks for this, it means a lot to me." She adds before completely shifting her attention.

She goes back to her sap while I continue to stand guard.

*Jaune POV*

Me and CRDL were up top a cliffside overlooking a small clearing in the forest. There I could see RWBY, CNFR, and my team all collecting the sap. 

I should be down there with them, what the hell am I doing?!

"Cardin, wh-what's going on?" I ask.

"Payback." He replies staring at the group, but I could notice two in particular.

"Pyrrha and Y/N?" I ask looking down at the two talking, "Wh-what are you-?" I was cut off.

"That's the girl. Red-haired know-it-all, thinks she's so smart. And her short pathetic brother that snuck in with her." He said with hatred, "Alright, boys, Last night, old Jaune here managed to round up an entire box of Rapier Wasps, and now, we're gonna put him to work." He said pulling out the box I had collected.

Russel grabs my shoulder, and I let out a pathetic chuckle of nervousness.

"Now, according to one of the essays you wrote for me last week, these nasty things loooove sweets. I'm thinking it's time we teach them a thing or two." Cardin says as he looks down.

He yanks me up on my feet and throws the jar to me.

"And you're gonna do it." He says.

"Do what?" I ask 

"Hit them with the sap." He says before leaning in. "Either that, or I'll have a chat with Goodwitch, and you'll be on the airship first out of Beacon." He reminds me.

I look down to the jar, and look back up to the 4 grinning guys around me. I aim to throw, my hand shaking the entire way thinking back to all those two have done for me. 

"You've got someone that believes in you"

I'm a leader, I'm their friend, I can't do this.

"No" I reply readying myself.

"What did you say?" Cardin replied fuming

"I said... NO!" I shout.

In a moment of pure animalistic instinct I tightly grip the jar and throw it at Cardin. Once it wore off I realized what predicament I put myself in as I see his breastplate covered in sap.

"Oh, you've done it now" He yells with ferocity.

Laughing somewhat to myself I see Sky and Dove yank me up and hold my in place as I waited for the inevitable. 

Y/N POV

 Everybody was about ready to pack up, as they all got their sap, however we all heard a big roar coming from a little ways north.

"Did you guys hear that?" Ruby asks concerned.

Just as she says that I see the members of CRDL come running past us.

"Ursa! Ursa!" One of them shouts in a panic

In their panic they run into Yang

"What?! Where?" She says completely un-phased by him running into her.

"Back there! It's got Cardin!" He replies.

Pyrrha immediately grimaces after hearing this.

"Jaune!" She says out loud.

"Yang! You and Blake, go get Professor Goodwitch!" Ruby says shifting into leader mode.

"You two, go with them! There could be more!" Pyrrha says to Nora and Ren.

"Ravio, help me man the gun and cover their retreat, Angelo fly up and scout to see if there are anymore." Carroll says as Ravio runs to him and Angelo takes to the skies.

I follow Weiss, Ruby, and Pyrrha as they run toward where the Ursa is.

By the time we got there we saw the Ursa leaning over it's helpless victim, Cardin, the paw swipes down, and I expected to see carnage, but in the nick of time Jaune arrived shield in hand and saved him. Still, he struggles to defend the now stunned Cardin. Weiss prepares her rapier to help.

"Wait," Pyrrha says as Weiss relaxes her stance.

Jaune takes the shield out from the Ursa's paw and slashes at its stomach, it hits, but it onlg angered it causing it to lash out and try to crush him. He quickly rolls out of the way and jumps over its swipe at his feet, but he is instead hit when it launches a claw at him in midair. He lands far away, yet is immediately back on his feet and passing Cardin as he it charges again. The Ursa knocks Jaune behind it when he tries for a leaping attack, and he looks at the Scroll in his shield to find out that his Aura level is in the red. He grows angry again and starts to run at the Ursa as it also begins to dash towards him.

I look at the two running at each other, and realize that Jaune had left himself completely open to the now incoming attack. If he didn't correct it, he'd certainly die. I see Pyrrha lift her hand out to him, gathering dark red energy in her arm, knowing what she was getting at I join in. Just as the Ursa is about to hit him, the glow surrounds Jaune's shield we make it lift up to block the swipe. Jaune uses the surprise defensive move to lean on the ground, push his shield back up, and swing his blade right through the Ursa's neck. Decapitating the creature as the limp body slams on the ground.

"Uhhh... What?" Ruby asks amazed.

"How did you...?" Weiss asks equally amazed.

"Well, Ruby has her speed, you have your glyphs. Me and Y/N's Semblance is polarity." She replies.

"Whoa, you can control poles..." Ruby says.

"No, you dunce! It means she has control over magnetism!" Weiss corrects sternly.

"Magnets are cool, too..." Ruby whispers sounding almost disappointed.

"Wait, where are you going?" Weiss asks as we start to leave.

"Yeah! We got to tell them what happened!" Ruby says.

"We could... Or perhaps we could keep it our little secret?" Pyrrha says before we both walk off.

No doubt Pyrrha was up on that rooftop with Jaune giving some speech or training him. Me I was in my bed looking over my designs again, I wanted to get them in order soon so I could get field tests in prior to the Vytal tournament, but right now they were just sketches on a piece of paper. Going to bed I look up at the ceiling and remember something.

I think I owe somebody an explanation
