Calm before the storm

Casy POV
"The entire place was ablaze. The fire department managed to quickly put out the fire. Though we are lucky most people got out safely there are some that were injured. It has been said that seven people in total parish in the fire-" I quickly turned off the tv. I felt my panic swelling in my chest. Sweat poured down my face. I just helped someone kill seven people...
It had to be Ed! She was the only one who had the things to make a fire! My god I was so stupid to be tricked like this! If I had gotten her out quicker this wouldn't have happened. I hit myself on the head. My thoughts raced. My mind was a jumbled mess at this point. I tried to think logically but my emotions and thoughts were going 100 miles an hour.
I was so scared. What if they found out it was her? What if they found out it was me?
"Oh god oh god" I muttered to myself. All the sudden I heard my phone ring. I jumped up thanks to the fact I was on edge. I sighed glad for the distraction. I picked up my phone and answered it.
"Hello?" I said into the phone.
"Hey Casy! It's Hannah. I wanted to see if you had heard the news," the voice on the other line said.
"Yeah I saw," I sighed out.
"Isn't that the hospital your girlfriend was at?" Hannah asked.
"Yeah...wait WHAT?" My face blushes.
"I bet you cash money that you are blushing like an anime school girl. Also you didn't deny it~" she teased.
"S-shut up! She's just my friend! This is serious. Can you stop joking about how I feel?"
"Jeez fine. So are you worried about her?" She asked her tone getting serious.
"Yeah...I don't think she died in the fire but I'm still really worried. I hope she didn't get hurt..." I said.
"I'm sure she's fine. Fire is like her element right?" She said. She tried to lighten things up.
"Heh true," I said. I tried to sound more light hearted but it wasn't fooling her.
"You got something more on your mind?" She asked.
"What? Oh no no I'm just worried,"
"Try to relax okay? She'll be fine. You said she was going to get out soon anyways. She might not have to go back," she said.
"Do you know what happened to the people that got out? I mean it was mental institution," I said.
"I think some of them went to the closest one. At least that's what I can guess." She said perceivably.
"You're probably right," I said.
"What do you think they'll do with her. I mean she might get moved far away," she
"I don't think they'll do that. I think she's going to be out. She's been there for over half a year now. And I've visited her and she seems fine to me," I said. I was really trying to convince myself yet again.
"She set her house in fire," Hannah said bluntly.
"True but she's been much better,"
"I know I believe you Casy but...still. I'm worried about how much faith you have in her. She could be dangerous," she got quieter as she said this. Earlier I would have yelled no at her but now...
"Yeah I know. I'm careful," I reassured her.
"Okay good. Look I got to go but we should hangout over the weekend okay? Just you and me."
"Sounds good," I said with a smile.
"Bye," she said. The phone call cut off. I sighed and put down my phone. Hannah really did know me well. The call helped to clear my head a bit. I knew that Ed had caused the fire and she would manage to not go to another mental hospital. She'd probably go after her parents maybe based on what I know. My head was much clearer now. I needed to talk to her soon. As soon as possible.
I sat down on my bed with my thoughts now sorted a little. I picked up my sketchbook I'd left on my bed and placed it on my lap. I opened to blank and started to sketch. That always helped me block out thoughts. I didn't really care what I drew just as long as I was drawing.
I continued to doodle until I heard a tap on me window...
