♡⎯⎯ Kisses
★ kee speaks bro is this even valid fluff? lmao so i wrote this when i was in y/n's situation, man this was one of my first books here, i just wrote everything i thought of. pretend you're 17-ish in 2020 and corona doesn't fuck everything up. take a mouthful of calamansi juice every time I say "kiss", "kisses", or "cheek" and i bet when you're done you wont be able to feel your mouth anymore. this is kinda short but eh
edit from june 6 2022: slayyyy go coping mechanism go (i didn't know it at the time but boy did i need someone to comfort me)
I showed up on the doorstep of Connor's house on the brink of tears, reaching for the doorbell, but it opened before I even touched it.
"Oh. Hey, Y/N. You okay?" Travis asked, his expression more curious than concerned.
I nodded without cracking a smile, feeling the throbbing pain in my shoulder. "Yeah," I replied quietly. "Uh..."
Before I could get another word out, Travis looked over his shoulder and shouted, "Connor! Y/N's here!"
"Y/N?" An excited voice shouted back from upstairs. There were a series of thumps on the ceiling, then the sound of something falling. Travis looked at me, said a goodbye and left. My boyfriend came rushing down the stairs, struggling to put a shirt on.
"Hi! Why'd you come over, princess? Did you—" Connor's grin melted quickly, seeing my frown. "Y/N, what's wrong? Anything up, angel?"
"Um, can—can I go inside?" I asked weakly.
"Of course, baby." He planted a kiss on my temple.
I didn't even have a bag, just my monster-proof phone and my wallet in my shorts. I didn't have to drop anything on the floor or on the way to Connor's room as I went up. It was nearing nighttime, and parts of his house were dark.
When I got to his room, he held my hand, told me to stay put and went inside first. He snatched a textbook, someone's wallet, and an arrow snapped in half off the floor. He returned to me, gently pulled me in and placed another kiss on the back of my hand, then on the top of my head.
"Your bed, milady." He bowed and gestured to his bed.
"You nerd."
"I'm not a nerd."
"Yes, yes, you are."
He closed the door behind me and when I didn't turn around to look at him, he wrapped his arms around my waist and pressed his lips to my cheek. "Maybe. You can lie down if you want, you know."
Despite my exhaustion, I didn't lie down, only sat on the edge of the mattress. "I'm just really tired, and my cousins are over at my house and they're so dam noisy. I stared at a blank Word file for 45 minutes and nothing came." As I spoke, he settled down behind me and hugged me around the waist again, pulling me so I was sitting in his lap. "Then I got a headache and I wanted to get food so I did, but one of my cousins w-was running in the hall so the leftover spaghetti fell and no one helped me clean it up." My voice cracked as my eyes felt warmer and I rubbed the moisture from them.
I could feel his fingers run through my hair, which comforted me by a big amount. My eyelids felt droopy. "Then I went over here but I hurt my shoulder on the bus," I whined as he peppered kisses along my jaw. He picked up my other hand, the one that wasn't fidgeting with a loose thread and gave it a peck.
"Can I see, Y/N?"
I reached up and slid my shirt over to one side, exposing the red skin. Connor bent his neck lower at a painful anger and kissed the red spot a few times. "Does it still hurt?"
I shook my head. "Only a little." Then I turned around and wrapped my arms around his neck, leaning in close and pressed my lips to his, letting out a breathless little gasp when he put his big hands on my waist and pulled me closer. We stayed like that for some moments, then soon we were laying down, still pressed together like a human braid.
BANG!
"Hey, Con, I forgot to ask, did you see—oh. Sorry." Travis shut the door, looking away and backing out of the room. I laughed lightly, still clutching Connor's shirt. I didn't notice he was staring at me.
"What?" I asked.
"You're so fucking pretty when you smile," He said, grinning and peppering kisses again all over my face. I giggled, even though my body was heavy and my mind cloudy. "Con—no—wait—"
He didn't stop until I held his hand and kissed it too. He smiled warmly, reaching out to caress my face.
I frowned for a moment. "That's song's so old."
"Which one?" He asked, playing with my hair.
"The one in 2017, the one that goes, you so, fuckin', precious—"
"—When you smile," Connor continued, dancing vaguely and mumbling the lyrics. "It's not that old."
"You were 14 when it came out."
"Oh. Ohhhh."
"Yeah," I laughed. Then I made a sour face. "I just realized what hit it from the back means."
"Hm?"
"Never mind. Do you wanna like, do anything...?"
"Uh..." He took my hand and rubbed circles on the back of my palm. "We could..." he kissed my cheek. "Watch Netflix or find a movie and make out on commercial breaks. What about you?"
I thought for a moment, then returned the kiss on the curve of his jaw. "Can we take a nap, Con?"
"Sure, angel."
A moment later my cheek was squished against Connor's shoulder, with his arms wrapped around me. He combed his fingers through my hair as I listened to his breathing. I had an arm thrown across his chest, the other one folded.
"Goodnight, Con."
"Goodnight, angel. I love you, Y/N."
"Love you."
