Chapter Thirty Seven
Chapter Thirty Seven - "Logan, Wait!"
___
Avery's P.O.V
Two weeks have passed ever since I met up with Chance at the coffee shop. Surprisingly, he called me a few days ago just to ask about how I was doing and stuff. This side of Chance reminds me of the old Chance, the real Chance. But the only thing that is confusing me now is why did he want to make peace between both of us now but not before? That's the only question I need answered.
Between those two weeks, I have kept the little meeting between Chance and I a secret from Logan. Who knows how he will act? I don't want us to fight again but I have a feeling that lying to him will make him even more mad and angry. I honestly don't know what to do. Boys are so unpredictable.
Ebony has been hanging out with me more than Logan for some reason but honestly, I don't mind at all. All the things that she went through before literally crushed my heart when I heard it from Logan but maybe Ebony doesn't want sympathy now since it happened before and thats when she needed everyone beside her to help her, not now when it's in the past.
Patrick has stayed out of our way ever since I bumped into him when he was rummaging through his locker which is good because Claire has been very happy ever since she told me that Henry likes her again. I guess what I said about the tutoring thing was right.
We haven't heard about Jade's trial date yet but hopefully, it comes soon so my parents don't have to keep stressing about her. Honestly, she has done enough to my family and I don't even think Jade deserves to be called family after what she has done.
I think I've cleared everything? Okay.
"Why do you have glasses on?" Ebony laughs at Logan as he walks into the cafeteria. I turn to see him and my mouth drops.
How fucking hot can this guy get?
"Close my mouth, sunshine. Your giving me ideas." Logan says as he takes a seat next to me. I immediately close my mouth, feeling my cheeks heating up. Logan takes off the sunglasses and hands them to Claire who is gawking at them. Claire immediately places them on the top of her head and keeps messaging on her phone.
Suddenly, the bell rings and I look down at my watch. "Its not the end of lunch yet?" I ask myself and look to see everyone's eyes going wide.
"Why the fuck do you have to stop me from eating!" Claire shouts and the teachers in the room ignore her comment and start to tell the students to stay quiet and get under the tables.
"Swear to who it's a lock down?" Logan asks and the teacher comes up to us and tells us to get under the table. Claire groans but does it anyway. Ebony and I get under next and I tug Logan's leg but he is still sitting in his chair.
"Logan." I hiss, slapping his leg. Logan stands up from his chair and walks out of the cafeteria, well, that was his plan until the teachers held him back.
"Let me go." Logan says in a tired tone. The teachers shake their heads and Logan groans.
"I know the people who are out there! Let me go!" Logan says between gritted teeth and the teachers still shake their heads making Logan result to violence as he pushes the teachers off him.
Lucky all the teachers are male.
"Logan!" I shout and he ignores me, walking out of the cafeteria. I run my hands down my face and shake my head.
"Honestly, just because this dude is a bad boy does not mean he has to act like an idiot and try to save the world." I mumble and Ebony chuckles quietly.
"True but Logan's right about what he said. He does know the people who are making us sit under tables that have five year old gum on them." Ebony shivers in digust and I sink lower to the ground to avoid the gum touching my hair.
"Are the people dangerous?" I ask and Ebony shrugs.
"Logan hangs out with plenty of people. Some dangerous and some who just like to muck around and no doubt that the group outside is the goofballs." Ebony says and I crack a smile.
"The goofballs?" I ask and Ebony nods.
"Thats what Logan calls them since they are the ones usually doing the pranks and all." Ebony says and I nod.
Suddenly, the bell goes again and the teachers tell us to stand from the floor. We all stand and after a few seconds of doing just this, Logan comes walking back in with an irritating look on his face.
"Everything okay?" I ask as he stands next to me.
"When did you plan on telling me about you and Chance's meet up?" Logan immediately asks and I look up at him but he is avoiding my gaze. I try to grab his hand but he shakes it away before walking back out of the cafeteria.
Ignoring my last decision, I chased after Logan.
"Logan, wait!" I shout as I Logan walks down the stairs and towards his bike. A memory of before quickly flashes in my head.
"Uhm, I'll be right back." I say quickly, running off towards Logan. He walks to his motorcycle and just as he is about to put on his helmet, I place my hand on his shoulder.
"Hey." I say, breathing out a sigh. Logan takes a quick look at me before stepping back.
"I... I need to go."
"Just one second. I just need to ask you one thing." I say, begging Logan. He looks around then looks back at me, sighing.
"Make it quick."
"What happened last night?" I ask and Logan bites his lip.
"What do you mean?" He asks nervously and I roll my eyes.
"After you told me I should rest, what happened?" I ask him and Logan looks at me for a few seconds before shaking his head.
"I have no idea what your talking about, sunshine." Logan says, trying to hide the fact that he is lying to me. I narrow my eyes at him and place a hand on my hip.
"Stop lying to me and tell me what happened!" I say, completely frustrated. Logan places a hand on my shoulder and frowns.
"I... It's best if you don't know." Logan says and before I can say anything, Logan quickly puts on his helmet and jumps on his bike. The bike roars and a second later, Logan speeds out of the school parking lot and down the road. I frown and watch as he disappears.
There is no way I am going to let him run off on me again.
"Logan, please. Let me explain." I say as I reach Logan who is putting on his helmet. He flips the shield up to look up and me.
"You had two weeks to explain, Avery. Two weeks." Logan says but before he could start the bike, I grab his shoulders.
"Logan, don't do this to me again-"
"Don't do this to you? What about what you have done to me? You obviously don't care about me or my feelings." Logan says and I shake my head, tears forming in my eyes.
"Logan, don't say this." I mumble and Logan shakes his head.
"I guess what Chance said was true, yes? You have boys wrapped around your finger then throw them away like trash." Logan spits and I gap at him, tears rolling down my face now. The memory of the party flashes into my mind.
"Let go of me... unless she's got you wrapped around her finger, seeing as she is the type to manipulate us guys." Chance says, sending me a short icy glare.
"D-don't-"
"Don't what, Avery? Honestly, out of everyone, I never thought you would do this to me." And with that, Logan starts the bike and drives off, leaving me in this spot once again.
I crash down on the concrete, letting my tears roll down my cheeks. My heart is racing and I feel my hands shaking slightly.
"I'm sorry, Logan."

Oh, poor Avery. This is what happens when you lie to your boyfriend. Nah, jokes, but what do you think of this chapter? I was going to make Logan say that he is breaking up with Avery but I couldn't bring myself to do that.
